Leeward Islands Air Transport, known as LIAT, is an airline headquartered on the grounds of V. C. Bird International Airport in Saint George Parish, Antigua. It operates high-frequency inter-island scheduled services serving 21 destinations in the Caribbean. The airline's main base is VC Bird International Airport, Antigua and Barbuda, with bases at Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados and Piarco International Airport, Trinidad and Tobago.
Leeward Islands Air Transport Services was founded on 20 September 1956 and began flying with a single Piper Apache operating between Antigua and Montserrat. With the acquisition in 1957 of 75% of the airline by the larger, better known BWIA, LIAT was able to expand to other Caribbean destinations and to obtain new aircraft types, such as the Beechcraft Bonanza and de Havilland Heron airplanes. Hawker Siddeley HS 748s came in 1965, due to the airline's decision to phase out the Herons.
LIAT was not always an all propeller engined airline: after Court Line. obtained 75% of the airline in 1971, LIAT entered the jet age, using BAC One Elevens for its longer Caribbean routes, along with Britten-Norman types.

Plot: After an unusual morning, two 6-year-old boys, Hamza a Palestinian, and Baram an Israeli, leave their homes under usual circumstances. While each of their mothers is planning a new life for her child, the boys walk a great distance as Hamza chases the towns stray dog and Baram shakes off a fight he had with his sister, leading the two to meet at a hillside above an Israeli Settlement. Despite the fact that both boys come from strongly opinionated families, in which the rights for the land have been longed, and regardless of having no common language, Baram & Hamza become fast friends playing with nothing but dirt, rocks and an abandoned barrel. Innocently exchanging concrete items of their their identity, and before they even know it, they become part of the viscous cycle where humanity has become a luxury that is hard to achieve.

Plot: Can a girl from Little Rock find happiness with a mature French planter she got to know one enchanted evening away from the military hospital where she is a nurse? Or should she just wash that man out of her hair? Bloody Mary is the philosopher of the island and it's hard to believe she could be the mother of Liat who has captured the heart of Lt. Joseph Cable USMC. While waiting for action in the war in the South Pacific, sailors and nurses put on a musical comedy show. The war gets closer and the saga of Nellie Forbush and Emile de Becque becomes serious drama.
