We fly into Asuncion, captial of Paraguay.
Paraguay Travel Video - Paraguay is a country of fascinating contrasts. Its rustic and sophisticated. Its extremely poor and obscenely wealthy. It boasts exotic natural reserves and massive man-made dams. It is a place where horses and carts pull up by Mercedes Benz cars, artisans workshops abut glitzy shopping centers and Jesuit ruins in rural villages near Encarnación are just a few kilometers from sophisticated colonial towns like Asunción. Steamy subtropical rainforests with metallic butterflies contrast with the dry and wild frontier of Northern Paraguay the Chaco.
Here, many Mennonites have created their haven, living alongside some of the countrys many indigenous groups, while the European influence is particularly strong in the laid-back towns like Filadelfia and the more chaotic capital.

Paraguay, is a landlocked country in South America. It is bordered by Argentina to the south and southwest, Brazil to the east and northeast, and Bolivia to the northwest. Paraguay lies on both banks of the Paraguay River, which runs through the center of the country from north to south.

Iguazu Falls is located at the junction of three nations: Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. These “Great Waters,” as named by the indigenous Guarani people, are made up of 275 waterfalls that span nearly 2 miles. Sorry, Niagara!
Any Iguazu Falls tour will provide you with a sense of nature’s power and wonder. You can follow a boardwalk trail and take in the majestic, roaring falls from a safe vantage point…or, if you feel daring, a platform above the falls. Look down, but hang on to the railing—that’s a lot of water pouring beneath you.
Don’t mind getting wet? Take a speedboat safari beneath the falls and enjoy the spray. Prefer to stay dry? A helicopter ride over the falls might be for you. From up high, the falls form a tremendous chasm in the surface of the earth, further solidifying the fact that this area is one of nature’s great wonders.
Surrounding the Falls are the two Iguazu National Parks, one located in Brazil, the other in Argentina. The parks are home to beautiful rainforest full of exotic creatures, like wild cats, reptiles, and 400 species of birds and butterflies. There’s far too much here to see in a day, so plan an extended visit to Iguazu. You can even stay the night in the national park and see more of it in the morning.

South America trip
Yaguarón is a town and district of Paraguay located northwest of the department of Paraguarí . Located 48 km from Asuncion . According to the 2002 census of DGEEC had 25,984 inhabitants. This town is known for the artistic and cultural value of their temple-style Franciscan , dating from the colonial period.
In 1600 , the Franciscans led by Fray Alonso de Buenaventura built the imposing church which still stands and is one of the most beautiful examples of Franciscan buildings in Paraguay.

Paraguay is a country which many travelers skip because of the lack of big sights. Exactly this made me curious and so I went to checkout if it is really that boring and got to experience so many cool things: from the old town in Asuncion, a football match in the national stadium and the beach in Encarnacion over to the Jesuit Ruins of Trinidad I could explore this country in a really relaxed way and totally off the beaten tourist routes.
The tranquility and the lovely people of Paraguay alone are a great reason to check it out - another is the Terere, a cold version of the Maté which is the national drink here. The lack of tourism creates avery own charm traveling through Paraguay and turns it into a very special experience in Latin America!

Asunción (Spanish pronunciation: [asunˈsjon], Guarani: Paraguay) is the capital and largest city of Paraguay.
The Ciudad de Asunción is an autonomous capital district not part of any department. The metropolitan area, called Gran Asunción, includes the cities of San Lorenzo, Fernando de la Mora, Lambaré, Luque, Mariano Roque Alonso, Ñemby, San Antonio, Limpio, Capiatá and Villa Elisa, which are part of the Central Department. The Asunción metropolitan area has more than 2 million inhabitants. Asunción is located at 25°16′S 57°40′W / 25.267°S 57.667°W / -25.267; -57.667 (-25.2667, -57.6667). The Municipality of Asunción is listed on the Asunción Stock Exchange, as BVPASA: MUA, a unique feature of any city.
It is the home of the national government, principal port, and the chief industrial and cultural centre of the country. Local manufacturing production includes footwear, textiles, and tobacco products.
Asunción is one of the oldest cities in South America and the longest continually inhabited area in the Rio de la Plata Basin; for this reason that it is known as "Mother of Cities". It was from here that the colonial expeditions departed to found other cities, including the second foundation of Buenos Aires and of other important cities such as Villarrica, Corrientes, Santa Fe and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

Balaguer (Catalan pronunciation: [bəɫəˈɣe], locally: [balaˈɣe]) is the capital of the comarca of Noguera, in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. It is located by the river Segre, a tributary to the Ebre.
Balaguer was conquered from the Moors by Ermengol VI of Urgell in 1106; he made it his new capital, and it remained so for subsequent counts of Urgell.
The town has a Gothic bridge, the "Pont de Sant Miquel," over the Segre river. This bridge was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War in the battle of "Cap de Pont" (bridgehead battle in 1938) and rebuilt after the war.
Another Gothic building is the Santa Maria Church, in the heights above the city, in line with a quite finely conserved wall dating to the 15th century AD.
The historic town is on the right bank of the Segre but, following the Spanish Civil War, construction began on a modern bridge, which initiated development of a modern extension of the town on the left bank.
General Franco's forces first entered Catalonia from Aragon in 1938 through Balaguer's bridgehead.

According to the 2002 census of DGEEC had 25,984 inhabitants. This town is known for the artistic and cultural value of their temple-style Franciscan , dating from the colonial period. In 1600 , the Franciscans led by Fray Alonso de Buenaventura built the imposing church which still stands and is one of the most beautiful examples of Franciscan buildings in Paraguay. Don’t mind getting wet? Take a speedboat safari beneath the falls and enjoy the spray. Prefer to stay dry? A helicopter ride over the falls might be for you. From up high, the falls form a tremendous chasm in the surface of the earth, further solidifying the fact that this area is one of nature’s great wonders.
Surrounding the Falls are the two Iguazu National Parks, one located in Brazil, the other in Argentina. The parks are home to beautiful rainforest full of exotic creatures, like wild cats, reptiles, and 400 species of birds and butterflies. There’s far too much here to see in a day, so plan an extended visit to Iguazu. You can even stay the night in the national park and see more of it in the morning.

Paraguay is a country which many travelers skip because of the lack of big sights. Exactly this made me curious and so I went to checkout if it is really that boring and got to experience so many cool things: from the old town in Asuncion, a football match in the national stadium and the beach in Encarnacion over to the Jesuit Ruins of Trinidad I could explore this country in a really relaxed way and totally off the beaten tourist routes.
The tranquility and the lovely people of Paraguay alone are a great reason to check it out - another is the Terere, a cold version of the Maté which is the national drink here. The lack of tourism creates avery own charm traveling through Paraguay and turns it into a very special experience in Latin America!

10 de diciembre de 2015, Buenos Aires: El presidente de la Nación, Mauricio Macri, convocó hoy a todos los argentinos a poner en marcha “un tiempo de diálogo, de respeto y de trabajo conjunto” y ratificó el compromiso de “trabajar incansablemente en los próximos cuatros años para que todos los argentinos, especialmente los que más lo necesitan, al terminar este período estén viviendo mejor”.
“Ya pasaron las elecciones y llegó el momento en que todos debemos unirnos para crecer y mejorar y para que nuestro país avance”, afirmó Macri en su primer mensaje presidencial luego de prestar el juramento de rigor ante la Asamblea Legislativa en el Congreso de la Nación.
Sostuvo que para hacer frente a los nuevos desafíos que enfrentará el país “necesitamos armar equipos diversos que sumen visiones distintas de nuestra realidad”, y abogó en favor de “un país unido en la diversidad” que sume “el aporte de todos”.
Afirmó que “es un desafío excitante” y aseveró que los argentinos “están cansados de la prepotencia y de los enfrentamientos inútiles”.
El Presidente prestó juramento a las 11.45 luego de ser invitado a cumplir ese procedimiento por la vicepresidenta Gabriela Michetti.
Lo hizo “por Dios y los Santos Evangelios” ante la Asamblea Legislativa reunida en el recinto de la Cámara de Diputados de la Nación en una ceremonia que contó con la presencia de jefes de Estado visitantes, gobernadores, miembros de la Corte Suprema y del cuerpo diplomático, autoridades religiosas y de las Fuerzas Armadas y de Seguridad.
A su llegada al Palacio Legislativo en compañía de su esposa, Juliana Awada, y su hija, Antonia, y escoltado por una formación del Regimiento de Granaderos a Caballo, Macri fue recibido por el titular provisional del Senado, Federico Pinedo, y por el presidente de la Cámara Baja, Emilio Monzó.
También le dieron la bienvenida sendas comisiones de legisladores, una en el exterior del edificio y una segunda comitiva en el interior.
Macri reiteró que los ejes centrales que marcarán su gestión de Gobierno serán “pobreza cero, el combate contra el narcotráfico y la unión de los argentinos”, como prometió durante la campaña electoral.
“Vamos a cuidar a todos y el Estado va a estar en donde sea necesario para cada argentino, en especial para los que menos tienen”, remarcó el Presidente de la Nación.
Señaló que “vamos a universalizar la protección social para que ningún chico en la Argentina quede desprotegido y vamos a urbanizar las villas para transformar para siempre la vida de miles de argentinos”.
“Y para que haya pobreza cero necesitamos generar una gran transformación que multiplique las fuentes de trabajo”, agregó.
Dijo que la Argentina necesita “inversión inteligente y expansiva que mejore la infraestructura y que establezca las bases para el crecimiento y la producción”.
Macri sostuvo que “hemos vivido muchas divisiones” a lo largo de la historia, porque los argentinos “somos pasionales”, pero advirtió que esa actitud ha generado “conflictos innecesarios” y nos “ha llevado a situaciones de violencia”.
“Queremos sacar el enfrentamiento del centro de la escena y poner en ese lugar el encuentro, el desarrollo y el crecimiento”, subrayó.
Macri hizo luego un reconocimiento especial a sus rivales en las recientes elecciones, Daniel Scioli, Sergio Massa, Margarita Stolbizer, Adolfo Rodríguez Saa y Nicolás Del Caño. “Estamos todos unidos por la vocación democrática y el sueño de ver una Argentina desarrollada”, destacó.
Macri sostuvo también que “podemos pensar de distintas formas, pero la ley debe ser respetada”, y alertó que es inadmisible “avasallar a las instituciones con proyectos personalistas y con abusos de poder”.
“Este Gobierno va a saber defender esa libertad, que es esencial para la democracia”, afirmó.
