Before signing with Higher Octave Records in the late '80s, Aura composed music for the healing arts based on research into psycho-acoustic audio production. William Aura's conscious dedication to global concerns has brought him over a dozen times to the Tibetan world. Witnessing the poverty of these simple but loving people, he made a promise to be a voice for the disadvantaged. His extraordinary video footage is featured in Rick Ray's award winning film "10 Questions for the Dalai Lama." In 2002, he founded the Aura Imports Sponsorship Project to promote education for children in the Himalayan world. Their goals are achieved primarily through child sponsorship by uniting impoverished students with individual sponsors, giving them the tools and opportunities necessary for success. His company, Aura Imports, is committed to promoting the social and economic progress of people in the region by marketing their handcrafts in a just and direct manner. Proceeds from the web site help over 100 deserving Tibetan and Nepali students. As a friend of the project, William Aura offered his services as a guide to our crew when we traveled to India and Nepal. In Kathmandu he introduced us to his friends, Sur Sudha, and in Dharamsala he helped us hook up with the Exile Brothers. Aura is also an accomplished bass player-- he can be seen and heard performing "One Love" from the rooftops of Kathmandu. 3rd Force is a New Age/smooth jazz band on the EMI Higher Octave label, consisting of trio William Aura, Craig Dobbin, and Alain Eskinasi.[1] Founded in 1994 by William Aura after a prolific solo career in New Age music, he, Dobbin, and Eskinasi immediately set out working on their self-titled debut album, 3rd Force which was released that same year. After the album's commercial success, the trio continued the studio project with their next release, Force of Nature in 1995. This album garnered an even bigger success than their debut spawning the popular single Here Comes the Night featuring guest guitarist Peter White. After a two year break, 3rd Force released their 3rd album Vital Force in 1997. The album gained 3rd Force's second hit single You Gotta Be Real once again featuring guest guitarist Peter White. The 4th album, called Force Field, was released in 1999 resulting in another of the band's singles Revelation of the Heart, with guest saxophonist Paul Taylor. In 2000 Higher Octave released a best-of compilation of 3rd Force, entitled Collective Force, which featured the band's best hits in both radio and fan favorites,along with two new songs, Dance With Me and Sweet Surrender. 2002 saw the release of their 5th studio album, Gentle Force, which showcased a mellower jazz sound than the band's usual output. Three years later,3rd Force released their latest album to date, Driving Force in 2005. Their latest release showcases a completely opposite style than the previous Gentle Force album which was almost lounge-style mellow jazz in sound. Driving Force, however, features a funky lively jazz mix never before heard in 3rd Force's music. The most popular singles from their latest release are Believe In Me, featuring the trumpeter Greg Adams, keyboardist Jeff Lorber, and guitarist Brian Hughes, and You Got It, featuring guitarist Marc Antoine.

Smell have existed as a fluid and sporadic lineup for years, issuing just three studio albums along a handful of singles and collaborations in since 1986. The band's debut album, the now out-of-print 'All Mimsy Were the Borogoves' consisted mostly of a number of little-known as well as irreverent covers, while their later releases focused more on original material blending pop, folk, trip-hop and heavy psych for a unique sound reflecting both the psychedelic traditional and experimentation present in much of modern Scandinavian progressive music. Smell's albums were all limited-release issues, and most are difficult or impossible to find today except from the occasional on-line reseller. 'Pelican Canyon' is the new single by Beth Jeans Houghton & Samuel T Herring (Future Islands). At the beginning of January 2013, Samuel T Herring flew from his home of Baltimore to Los Angeles, California. Upon arriving he hired a car and picked up Beth Jeans Houghton. The two had never met. From there they began the first of two road trips around America. In one month, the pair covered fifteen states. During their time together they wrote several songs, one of which (Pelican Canyon) was recorded and produced by Phillip Broussard Jr at The Boat in Los Angeles. Written in the form of a conversation between two people discussing their adventure, Pelican Canyon is a stripped down duet that plays the low, Cash-esque rumble of Herring's vocals against the gentle phrasing of Houghton's. 'Pelican Canyon' is the aural and lyrical confluence of two rivers, that ran side by side, for a time.

"Ashes From The Sky" consists of over a dozen outstanding chillout and downtempo pieces. The album intro starts off with lush bell melodies, which are later accompanied by a tranquil breakbeat. Just released as a single with an accompanying remix by Gorm Sorensen, "Covered By The Blue Fog" includes mesmerizing guitar riffs and sidechained pad lines. "My Rainy Day" quickly introduces a hypnotizing soundscape, featuring captivating arpeggio lines and a soft breakbeat. A memorable guitar riff is showcased in the 4th track, "From Now You Are Home", which also includes myriad underlying atmospheric elements. "If You're A Bird" consists of an almost haunting piano line, as well as floating pad layers in the background and a calm guitar riff. The next song, "I'm A Bird Too", perfectly follows in the footsteps of the previous one, using subtle piano lines and gentle guitar strokes. "Forever In The Night" contains a blissful atmosphere, including tranquil guitar riffs and lush percussion elements. A slow 4/4 beat is introduced in "The Soulflayer", which also showcases subtle choir elements and airy pad lines underneath. A delightful soundscape is quickly established in "Tripping On My Nightly Dreams", in which we witness mesmerizing pad layers and subtle guitar riffs in the foreground. "Living With The Ghosts" starts out with lush guitar riffs that gently guide the listener throughout this breath-taking piece. Featuring Rob Phipps (USA), "Antikythera" consists of haunting male vocal stems, as well as mood-setting guitar melodies in the background. "The Timewriter", a collaboration with S.Bluyer (Moldova), features an intriguing breakbeat and intricate sound effects, as well as an interesting spoken word sample. A stunning atmosphere is quickly established in "Lucy", a collaboration with Max Farewell (Moldova). Piano strokes, guitar melodies and subtle choir elements unite beautifully. A German composer and musician, he is skilled at keyboards, bass, guitar, and many other instruments. His gentle rhythmic musical stylings are most times a silky smooth mix of a number of genres, including jazz, rock, and even classical and new age. In 1978 Geike saw the release of his debut album, Die Zeit Steht Still. In 1980 he signed with the Philips Records label to complete two more albums, Fantasia and Windmills. Four years later he switched to another big label, Mercury, where he recorded three more marvelous full-length albums. The start of 1990 found Geike working under yet another new label, BSC Music. Albums like 1980's Time to Remember and 1998's Wellness kept his music before fans. Throughout the '90s, Geike received numerous positive reviews as Blonker. Gradually his fame has spread from Russia to Europe to America.

Art is a term that describes a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities, but is most often understood to refer to painting, film, photography, sculpture, and other visual media. Music, theatre, dance, literature, and interactive media are included in a broader definition of art or the arts. Until the 17th century, art referred to any skill or mastery and was not differentiated from crafts or sciences, but in modern usage the fine arts are distinguished from acquired skills in general.
Many definitions of art have been proposed by philosophers and others who have characterized art in terms of mimesis, expression, communication of emotion, or other values. During the Romantic period, art came to be seen as "a special faculty of the human mind to be classified with religion and science".
The nature of art, and related concepts such as creativity and interpretation, are explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics.
The Encyclopædia Britannica Online defines art as "the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others". By this definition of the word, artistic works have existed for almost as long as humankind: from early pre-historic art to contemporary art; however, some theories restrict the concept to modern Western societies. The first and broadest sense of art is the one that has remained closest to the older Latin meaning, which roughly translates to "skill" or "craft." Narada Michael Walden (born Michael Walden on April 23, 1952 in Kalamazoo, Michigan) is an American producer, drummer, singer, and songwriter. He was given the name Narada by guru Sri Chinmoy in the early 1970s and his musical career spans three decades, in which he was awarded several gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards. Walden has also owned and operated Tarpan Studios, a well-known recording studio in San Rafael, California, since the mid-1980s.
His stage career included appearances with John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra (where he replaced legendary drummer Billy Cobham),Jeff Beck (on Beck's album Wired) and Tommy Bolin Band.
His first album, Garden of Love Light, was released in 1976 and included the track "Delightful", song from Tommy Bolin Band setlist. The lone single released from the album, it charted at #81 on the R&B charts in the spring of 1977.
His 1979 album Awakening peaked at #15 on the R&B charts, spawning a Top 10 hit with "I Don't Want Nobody Else (To Dance With You )". Later that year, his album The Dance of Life yielded the Top 5 single "I Shoulda Loved Ya", which also made the UK Top 10 in 1980. "Gimme Gimme Gimme", his 1985 duet with Patti Austin, reached #1 in Sweden. In 1988, he scored another UK top 10 hit and a #1 US Dance hit, with "Divine Emotions" under the name Narada.
