Ott represented Estonia at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan with the song "Kuula" and got the 6th place in the final.
In Estonia Ott Lepland has won everything that could be won: Estonian Idol in 2009; the lead role in High School Musical in 2010; the show Laulupealinn (Singing Capital) in 2011, where he represented his family's hometown of Kärdla; and Eesti Laul, the Estonian national selection of the Eurovision Song Contest, in 2012 with a song he wrote himself.
He has always beaten the competition by an impressive margin. In the final of Eesti Laul, for example, he received 67% of the votes.
Ott was already well known in Estonia when he was still a child. He released four albums of children's songs and performed in the theatre, but left the limelight when he became a teenager and focussed on his studies of music. The result is here: he is one of the most respected vocalists in Estonia, an excellent pianist, and the author of some of the biggest radio hits of recent years.
Ott's strengths are his powerful voice and down-to-earth demeanour. He is not a show-off, but a true and serious artist. He may be a little reserved, but it is this trait that makes people take him seriously and gives him the charm that has brought him the love of his audiences.
Ott was born on 17 May 1987 in Tallinn. He has released 3 albums that were aimed at the Estonian market and contained many songs he had written himself.
The first book about Ott, Lubage mul olla. Ott Lepland (Let Me Be. Ott Lepland) was published at the end of 2010. A part of the sales revenue is transferred into a grant fund, which helps young people study singing. The grant recipients are picked by Ott Lepland himself. He also donated the 20,000 euros he won on Laulupealinn to Kärdla Town for charity.

Herbert Kretzmer
Herbert Kretzmer, OBE (born 5 October 1925) is a South African-born English journalist and lyric writer. He is best known as the lyricist for the English-language musical adaptation of Les Misérables as well as for his long-time collaboration writing the English-language lyrics to the songs of French chansonnier Charles Aznavour.
Early life
Kretzmer was born in Kroonstad, South Africa, in 1925. He is one of four brothers of Lithuanian Jewish immigrants William and Tilly Kretzmer, who fled the pogroms of Czarist Russia to settle in small-town South Africa early in the 20th century. His parents ran a furniture store. Elliot, the oldest of the brothers, flew as part of a bomber crew in the South African Air Force during the second World War, eventually becoming the Mayor of Johannesburg in 1991.
Journalist
Kretzmer began his professional career writing documentary films and the commentary for a weekly cinema newsreel. However, he soon moved on to print journalism, initially as a reporter and feature writer for the Johannesburg Sunday Express. He relocated to London in the mid-1950s and pursued twin careers as journalist and lyric writer.

Ott represented Estonia at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan with the song "Kuula" and got the 6th place in the final.
In Estonia Ott Lepland has won everything that could be won: Estonian Idol in 2009; the lead role in High School Musical in 2010; the show Laulupealinn (Singing Capital) in 2011, where he represented his family's hometown of Kärdla; and Eesti Laul, the Estonian national selection of the Eurovision Song Contest, in 2012 with a song he wrote himself.
He has always beaten the competition by an impressive margin. In the final of Eesti Laul, for example, he received 67% of the votes.
Ott was already well known in Estonia when he was still a child. He released four albums of children's songs and performed in the theatre, but left the limelight when he became a teenager and focussed on his studies of music. The result is here: he is one of the most respected vocalists in Estonia, an excellent pianist, and the author of some of the biggest radio hits of recent years.
Ott's strengths are his powerful voice and down-to-earth demeanour. He is not a show-off, but a true and serious artist. He may be a little reserved, but it is this trait that makes people take him seriously and gives him the charm that has brought him the love of his audiences.
Ott was born on 17 May 1987 in Tallinn. He has released 3 albums that were aimed at the Estonian market and contained many songs he had written himself.

From my recent album "I Say Yeh-Yeh" a new version of On My Own. On October 8th 2015 it has been 30 years of Les Miserables. On My Own was written for the character of Eponine which I had the good fortune to originate. The song was worked on and rewritten many times especially for my voice. Gwyneth Herbert, my record producer, said I really ought to include it on my French themed album "I Say Yeh-YehI, i was not so sure, I felt that On My Own was a wonderful part of my life such a long time ago and that it was better to leave it behind..but she persuaded me to record it again and she came up with such a fun arrangement. Hugh Jackman, Les Miserables Interview. Is there anything Hugh Jackman can't do? The actor, singer and performer has now topped himself by playing Jean Valjean in the big screen version of the hit musical Les Misérables.
Tribute.ca spoke with Hugh in New York about the pressures that come with playing such a well-known character, the emotional toll the role took on him and acting opposite Colm Wilkinson, who originated the role of Jean Valjean for the Broadway stage.
In 19th-century France, when Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is released from prison after serving 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread, he breaks parole to create a new life for himself, but has to evade the ruthless Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe), who's determined to bring him to justice.
Within the next eight years, Valjean creates a new identity and life for himself as a wealthy factory owner and the mayor of Montreuil-sur-Mer. Fantine, one of the women who works for him, is a single mother who sends all her money to the people who care for her small daughter, Cosette. When the other workers find out she has an illegimate child, they demand her dismissal.
Now on the street, Fantine turns to prostitution to make money to pay for Cosette. She's arrested but Valjean steps in and takes her to a hospital. Maltreated and malnourished, Fantine is on her deathbed. When Valjean promises to find Cosette and care for her, their lives change forever.
This is the motion-picture adaptation of the beloved global stage sensation, with libretto by Alain Boublil and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, based on Victor Hugo's novel. Over the past 27 years, the stage version has been seen by more than 60 million people in 42 countries in 21 languages around the globe and is still breaking box-office records everywhere.

From my recent album "I Say Yeh-Yeh" a new version of On My Own. On October 8th 2015 it has been 30 years of Les Miserables. On My Own was written for the character of Eponine which I had the good fortune to originate. The song was worked on and rewritten many times especially for my voice. Gwyneth Herbert, my record producer, said I really ought to include it on my French themed album "I Say Yeh-YehI, i was not so sure, I felt that On My Own was a wonderful part of my life such a long time ago and that it was better to leave it behind..but she persuaded me to record it again and she came up with such a fun arrangement. I am so happy that I listened to her and feel this new version is a lovely fun way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Les Miserables Thank you to Claude Michel Schoenberg for your beautiful music and Alain Boublil, Herbert Kretzmer, Trevor Nunn, John Caird and Jean Marc Natel for your beautiful words and of course to Cameron Mackintosh (Mr Producer).

After a rather long hiatus from YouTube I am back with this feeble attempt at honouring one of my all time favourite actresses, Jean Arthur.
I chose to sing the Charles Aznavour / Herbert Kretzmer song "She", because I thought it was the perfect description of Miss Arthur - even though it's far from the perfect song for me to sing.

Myles did this arrangement for Rob to sing on back in our freshman year of college, just for fun. We did a little recording of it in a dorm room, and that was that.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago -- our guitarist, Poh Hock, was competing in the .strandberg* Guitar Competition. A portion of the competition was decided by popular vote, and we called on our fans for assistance. Turns out we have a great little community going here; we received an outstanding amount of support, and Poh Hock ended up taking first place in the competition. So, as a token of our appreciation, we decided to dust off this old arrangement and make a new and improved version of it for everyone to enjoy.
We recorded all new vocals from Rob, and he also did a fresh mix and master of the whole thing. And Max directed, shot, and edited this video of it all, for your viewing pleasure. Thanks again, guys; hope you like it!

O #ProgramaDiferente acompanhou uma audição pública concorridíssima em São Paulo para a segunda grande montagem do musical "Os Miseráveis" no Brasil (15 anos após a estreia nacional e sucesso no mundo todo há 31 anos). A reportagem ouviu os candidatos na fila antes dos testes e mostra um pouquinho do mundo de sonhos dos musicais.
O musical "Les Misérables", baseado no romance épico do francês Victor Hugo, foi composto por Claude-Michel Schönberg em 1980, com libreto de Alain Boublil e letras de Herbert Kretzmer. Em 1985 estreou a adaptação inglesa produzida por Cameron Mackintosh, dirigida por Trevor Nunn e John Caird, com letras de Herbert Ktretzmer e material adicional de James Fenton. A versão brasileira realizada em 2001 tem letra e produção de Claudio Botelho.
O sucesso de "Les Mis" não se limitou ao teatro. Aclamado na Broadway, originou também uma superprodução premiada de Hollywood, na versão do musical para o cinema num filme vencedor de três prêmios Oscar, com direção de Tom Hooper e estrelado por Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen e Helena Bonham Carter. Mas há uma quantidade incontável de adaptações do romance para o teatro, o cinema e a TV.
Através da história de Jean Valjean na França do século XIX, no período entre a derrota de Napoleão, em 1815, e os motins de 1832, o romance narra a miséria, os dramas, os amores e os ideais revolucionários de diferentes gerações, com personagens inesquecíveis como o Inspetor Javert, Fantine, Cosette, Marius, Éponine, Enjolras, Gavroche e o casal Thénardier.
Com fãs de todas as idades, suas músicas estão espalhadas pela internet, em versões para o teatro, o cinema e até em programas de calouros na TV, como foi o caso de Susan Boyle, que se tornou célebre em 2009 pela sua participação no programa Britain´s Got Talent cantando "I dreamed a dream".
Outro fato curioso: a primeira apresentação do musical "Os Miseráveis" na cidade de São Paulo foi em 1995, muito antes do sucesso na inauguração do Teatro Abril (hoje Teatro Renault), em 2001. Era a montagem de um grupo amador do interior paulista, a Cia. Coral Canto Vivo, que se apresentava no Teatro Polytheama, em Jundiaí, sob direção cênica de Wagner Nacarato e direção vocal de Cláudia de Queiroz.
Após assistir uma apresentação no teatro do Colégio Nossa Senhora Menina, na Mooca, o jornalista Mauricio Huertas, fã do musical, publicou reportagem sobre a montagem pioneira em São Paulo e levou pessoalmente o grupo ao então secretário da Cultura, Rodolfo Konder, em plena gestão do prefeito Paulo Maluf, e conseguiu agendar apresentações no Teatro Municipal Paulo Eiró, em Santo Amaro. O #ProgramaDiferente acompanhou uma audição pública concorridíssima em São Paulo para a segunda grande montagem do musical "Os Miseráveis" no Brasil (15 anos após a estreia nacional e sucesso no mundo todo há 31 anos). A reportagem ouviu os candidatos na fila antes dos testes e mostra um pouquinho do mundo de sonhos dos musicais.
O musical "Les Misérables", baseado no romance épico do francês Victor Hugo, foi composto por Claude-Michel Schönberg em 1980, com libreto de Alain Boublil e letras de Herbert Kretzmer. Em 1985 estreou a adaptação inglesa produzida por Cameron Mackintosh, dirigida por Trevor Nunn e John Caird, com letras de Herbert Ktretzmer e material adicional de James Fenton. A versão brasileira realizada em 2001 tem letra e produção de Claudio Botelho.
O sucesso de "Les Mis" não se limitou ao teatro. Aclamado na Broadway, originou também uma superprodução premiada de Hollywood, na versão do musical para o cinema num filme vencedor de três prêmios Oscar, com direção de Tom Hooper e estrelado por Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen e Helena Bonham Carter. Mas há uma quantidade incontável de adaptações do romance para o teatro, o cinema e a TV.
Através da história de Jean Valjean na França do século XIX, no período entre a derrota de Napoleão, em 1815, e os motins de 1832, o romance narra a miséria, os dramas, os amores e os ideais revolucionários de diferentes gerações, com personagens inesquecíveis como o Inspetor Javert, Fantine, Cosette, Marius, Éponine, Enjolras, Gavroche e o casal Thénardier.
Com fãs de todas as idades, suas músicas estão espalhadas pela internet, em versões para o teatro, o cinema e até em programas de calouros na TV, como foi o caso de Susan Boyle, que se tornou célebre em 2009 pela sua participação no programa Britain´s Got Talent cantando "I dreamed a dream".
Outro fato curioso: a primeira apresentação do musical "Os Miseráveis" na cidade de São Paulo foi em 1995, muito antes do sucesso na inauguração do Teatro Abril (hoje Teatro Renault), em 2001. Era a montagem de um grupo amador do interior paulista, a Cia. Coral Canto Vivo, que se apresentava no Teatro Polytheama, em Jundiaí, sob direção cênica de Wagner Nacarato e direção vocal de Cláudia de Queiroz.
Após assistir uma apresentação no teatro do Colégio Nossa Senhora Menina, na Mooca, o jornalista Mauricio Huertas, fã do musical, publicou reportagem sobre a montagem pioneira em São Paulo e levou pessoalmente o grupo ao então secretário da Cultura, Rodolfo Konder, em plena gestão do prefeito Paulo Maluf, e conseguiu agendar apresentações no Teatro Municipal Paulo Eiró, em Santo Amaro. Gary Herbert, a Republican who has said he is voting for Trump, said that despite the billionaire candidate's incendiary remarks, Clinton is unpopular in Utah, even with Democrats, and is seen as untrustworthy.
