Street Fighter III 2nd Impact: Giant Attack (ストリートファイターⅢ セカンドインパクト GIANT ATTACK) is a competitive fighting game produced by Capcom that was released as a coin-operated arcade game in 1997. It is an update of Street Fighter III: New Generation. Like its predecessor, it runs on the CP System III hardware. 2nd Impact introduced new play mechanics, new characters, and new special moves. The game also brings back bonus rounds, not seen in the series since Super Street Fighter II. It is also the only CPS3 title to have a widescreen feature.
2nd Impact was released in a two-in-one compilation for the Dreamcast titled Street Fighter III: Double Impact, which also included the original Street Fighter III. It remains the only official home version of the first two games. 2nd Impact was followed in the arcades by Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future.
Released in October 1997, the second installment of Street Fighter III brought back all the characters from the first game and introduced two new ones: Hugo and Urien. Yun and Yang from the first game also became separate characters, with Yang receiving his unique set of Special Moves and Super Arts to distinguish him from Yun. Series' recurring hidden character Akuma also returned as a secret computer-controlled challenger and selectable character. Thus the playable character roster increased to 14. In addition to the regular Akuma, a computer-controlled version named "Shin Akuma" also appears in the single-player mode.
Street Fighter (ストリートファイター, Sutorīto Faitā), commonly abbreviated as SF or スト, is a fighting game franchise by Capcom. The game's playable characters originate from different countries around the world, each with his or her own unique fighting style. It is Capcom's second best-selling franchise, having significant success worldwide. With its first game released in 1987 and the game has evolved through the years as well as through its many iterations, remains one of the most popular video games today.
Street Fighter, designed by Takashi Nishiyama and Hiroshi Matsumoto, made its debut in arcades, in 1987. In this game, the player takes control of martial artist Ryu, who competes in a worldwide martial arts tournament, spanning five countries and 10 opponents. A second player can join in at any time and take control of Ryu's American rival, Ken.
The player can perform three types of punch and kick attacks, each varying in speed and strength, and three special attacks: the Hadouken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku. These are performed by executing special button combinations with the controls.
Street Fighter III: New Generation (ストリートファイターⅢ NEW GENERATION) is a fighting game in Capcom's Street Fighter series, originally released as coin-operated arcade game in 1997. Street Fighter III was produced for the CD-ROM-based CP System III hardware, which allowed for more elaborate 2D graphics than the CPS II-based Street Fighter Alpha games (the previous incarnation of the Street Fighter series), while revamping many of the play mechanics. The game, which was designed as a direct sequel to Street Fighter II, initially discarded every previous character except for Ryu and Ken (hence the "New Generation" subtitle), introducing an all-new roster led by Alex. Likewise, a new antagonist named Gill took over M. Bison's role from the previous games as the new boss character.
Street Fighter III was followed by two updates: Street Fighter III 2nd Impact in 1997 and Street Fighter III 3rd Strike in 1999. A single home version of the game was released for the Dreamcast in a two-in-one compilation titled Street Fighter III: Double Impact, which also included 2nd Impact.
A street is a public thoroughfare (usually paved) in a built environment. It is a public parcel of land adjoining buildings in an urban context, on which people may freely assemble, interact, and move about. A street can be as simple as a level patch of dirt, but is more often paved with a hard, durable surface such as concrete, cobblestone or brick. Portions may also be smoothed with asphalt, embedded with rails, or otherwise prepared to accommodate non-pedestrian traffic.
Originally the word "street" simply meant a paved road (Latin: "via strata"). The word "street" is still sometimes used colloquially as a synonym for "road", for example in connection with the ancient Watling Street, but city residents and urban planners draw a crucial modern distinction: a road's main function is transportation, while streets facilitate public interaction. Examples of streets include pedestrian streets, alleys, and city-centre streets too crowded for road vehicles to pass. Conversely, highways and motorways are types of roads, but few would refer to them as streets.

Game: Street Fighter III : 2nd Impact System: Arcade Me (GSTAR321) doing a live commentary and playthrough of 'Street Fighter III : 2nd Impact'. I play as Urien. This is the second instalment in the trio of Street Fighter III games; the first being 'Street Fighter III : New Generation' and the last one being 'Street Fighter III : 3rd Strike'. This game has superb visuals, music and gameplay. Unfortunately it was only ported to the Sega Dreamcast system, so it is quite rare. And, like all games in the Street Fighter III series, this one has parries, making the fights very technical. Enjoy!

Alex's theme from Street Fighter III 2nd Impact Main man Alex, straight badass all the way. Cool look, freakin awesome grappling moves, awesome voice (SFIII wise) and of course awesome as heck theme. Maybe its because i'm a NY boy from Brooklyn but Alex's theme is just so good that listening to it makes me homesick. Sadly Ono is probably replacing him with Abel (if i remember Ono said he doesn't even like Alex that much :L) and Abel is ok but he will never be as awesome as " YOU CAN'T ESCAPE" Alex (and seeing how Abel was shown in SFxT, it saddens me more we got THAT instead of Alex...sigh). Favorite character with one of my big favorite themes, though which version i like more would be New Generation's but 2nd Impact's is pretty close...so is 3rd Strikes ANYWAY enjoy. Pics used: htt...
