How to make Shahi Paneer Recipe with English Subtitles- Easy Cook with Food Junction

Today we will make Shahi Paneer
Add 4-5 tablespoons of ghee. This recipe is for 4-5 servings of Shahi Paneer
Let it heat
Add 4 chopped medium-sized red onions
Let the onions become a little golden
After 2 mins add peeled black and green cardamoms
And mix it in with the onions
Cover it for 3-4 mins
Remove the lid from the frying pan and give it all a toss
Cook the onions for a while without the lid on
Once the onions are golden on all sides, add 5 medium- sized chopped tomatoes
Then add a teaspoon of red chilli powder, zeera(cumin) powder, dhania(coriander) powder and some salt to taste(ideally 4 teaspoons)
Mix the spices in
Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook on a low flame for 5-7 mins
Remove the lid. The tomatoes and onions are just about cooked. Let it cook for another 4-5 mins with a lid on
Turn the flame off, cool the mix a little an add the mix to a blender and blend the mix to a fine paste
In another pot, add some ghee and add the paste in.
Cover the pot and let it cook on slow flame for 4-5 mins.
Remove the lid and add 4 tablespoons of tomato puree and mix it all in
Cover the mix and let it cook for another 5 mins
5 mins later, the gravy is now ready.
Add 400 grams of paneer cubes
Cover the mix and let it cook for another 5 mins
Remove the lid and add half a cup of fresh cream.
Cover the mix and let it cook for another 5 mins on a slow flame.
5 mins later, remove the lid, give it a stir,Shahi Paneer is now ready to serve!

Shaahi Paneer
This recipe requires some cream, butter, sugar and Paneer; instead we have replaced these with honey, low fat curd, almond cream and low-fat Paneer. Also to boost nutrition we garnish this dish with grilled veggies.
Prep Time: 30 min
Serves: 2
Ingredients
For The Red Gravy
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced onions
1/4 cup pistas (kaju)
2 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
Other Ingredients
1 cup mixed Grilled vegetables – peppers/onion/corn
2 tbsp extra lite oil
1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
25 of cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
2 cardamoms
1 bayleaf (tejpatta)
2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
1 tsp garam masala
3 tbsp tomato puree
salt to taste
2 tbsp whisked low fat curd (dahi)
1/2 tsp honey
2 tbsp Almond cream
1 cup Low Fat paneer strips, cut into 1” cubes
For The Garnish
1 tbsp Almond cream
Method
For the red gravy
Combine all the ingredients along with 1 1/2 cups of water in a kadhai and boil on a high flame for 10 to 15 minutes or till the tomatoes are soft, while stirring occasionally.
Cool and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
How to proceed
Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the garlic paste and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
Add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bayleaf and sauté on a medium flame for a few more seconds.
Add the dried fenugreek leaves, garam masala, tomato purée and red gravy and sauté on a medium flame for another 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Add the salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Add the curd, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 more minute.
Add the honey, 1/4 cup of water, paneer and almond cream, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 2 minutes.
Serve hot garnished with grilled vegetables and Almond cream.

Kabul Shahi
The Kabul Shahi dynasties also called Shahiya ruled the Kabul Valley (in eastern Afghanistan) and the old province of Gandhara (northern Pakistan and Kashmir) during the Classical Period of India from the decline of the Kushan Empire in the 3rd century to the early 9th century. They are split into two eras the Buddhist-Shahis and the later Hindu-Shahis with the change-over occurring around 870.
When Xuanzang visited the region early in the 7th century, the Kabul region was ruled by a Kshatriya king, who is identified as the Shahi Khingal, and whose name has been found in an inscription found in Gardez.
These Hindu kings of Kabul and Gandhara may have had links to some ruling families in neighboring Kashmir and other areas to the east. The Shahis were rulers of predominantly Buddhist and Hindu populations and were thus patrons of numerous faiths, and various artifacts and coins from their rule have been found that display their multicultural domain. The last Shahi emperors Jayapala, Anandapala and Tirlochanpala fought the Muslim Turk Ghaznavids of Ghazna and were gradually defeated. Their remaining army were eventually exiled into northern India.

Today we will make Shahi Paneer
Add 4-5 tablespoons of ghee. This recipe is for 4-5 servings of Shahi Paneer
Let it heat
Add 4 chopped medium-sized red onions
Let the onions become a little golden
After 2 mins add peeled black and green cardamoms
And mix it in with the onions
Cover it for 3-4 mins
Remove the lid from the frying pan and give it all a toss
Cook the onions for a while without the lid on
Once the onions are golden on all sides, add 5 medium- sized chopped tomatoes
Then add a teaspoon of red chilli powder, zeera(cumin) powder, dhania(coriander) powder and some salt to taste(ideally 4 teaspoons)
Mix the spices in
Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook on a low flame for 5-7 mins
Remove the lid. The tomatoes and onions are just about cooked. Let it cook for another 4-5 mins with a lid on
Turn the flame off, cool the mix a little an add the mix to a blender and blend the mix to a fine paste
In another pot, add some ghee and add the paste in.
Cover the pot and let it cook on slow flame for 4-5 mins.
Remove the lid and add 4 tablespoons of tomato puree and mix it all in
Cover the mix and let it cook for another 5 mins
5 mins later, the gravy is now ready.
Add 400 grams of paneer cubes
Cover the mix and let it cook for another 5 mins
Remove the lid and add half a cup of fresh cream.
Cover the mix and let it cook for another 5 mins on a slow flame.
5 mins later, remove the lid, give it a stir,Shahi Paneer is now ready to serve!

Shaahi Paneer
This recipe requires some cream, butter, sugar and Paneer; instead we have replaced these with honey, low fat curd, almond cream and low-fat Paneer. Also to boost nutrition we garnish this dish with grilled veggies.
Prep Time: 30 min
Serves: 2
Ingredients
For The Red Gravy
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced onions
1/4 cup pistas (kaju)
2 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
Other Ingredients
1 cup mixed Grilled vegetables – peppers/onion/corn
2 tbsp extra lite oil
1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
25 of cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
2 cardamoms
1 bayleaf (tejpatta)
2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
1 tsp garam masala
3 tbsp tomato puree
salt to taste
2 tbsp whisked low fat curd (dahi)
1/2 tsp honey
2 tbsp Almond cream
1 cup Low Fat paneer strips, cut into 1” cubes
For The Garnish
1 tbsp Almond cream
Method
For the red gravy
Combine all the ingredients along with 1 1/2 cups of water in a kadhai and boil on a high flame for 10 to 15 minutes or till the tomatoes are soft, while stirring occasionally.
Cool and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
How to proceed
Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the garlic paste and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
Add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bayleaf and sauté on a medium flame for a few more seconds.
Add the dried fenugreek leaves, garam masala, tomato purée and red gravy and sauté on a medium flame for another 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Add the salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Add the curd, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 more minute.
Add the honey, 1/4 cup of water, paneer and almond cream, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 2 minutes.
Serve hot garnished with grilled vegetables and Almond cream.

Narowal (Urdu: نارووال), (Punjabi: نارووال) is a city in the northeast of the Punjab province of Pakistan. The city is the capital of Narowal District and Narowal Tehsil. It is situated on the banks of Ravi River about 4--5 km from the Indian border.
There are several theories as to the origin of the name. The most famous of them is that it was named after a Sikh landlord, Naro Singh, who was the owner of the land before the partition of the sub-continent in 1947. The city is situated on the banks of River Ravi, about 4-5 km from Indian Border and about 50 km away from the Indian occupied Kashmir. It is famous for the production of rice and cereals and for the local dish Dahi Barray.
Narowal District was agricultural region with forests during the Indus Valley Civilization. The Vedic period is characterized by Indo-Aryan culture that invaded from Central Asia and settled in Punjab region. The Kambojas, Daradas, Kaikayas, Madras, Pauravas, Yaudheyas, Malavas and Kurus invaded, settled and ruled ancient Punjab region. After overunning the Achaemenid Empire in 331 BCE, Alexander marched into present-day Punjab region with an army of 50,000. The Narowal was ruled by Maurya Empire, Indo-Greek kingdom, Kushan Empire, Gupta Empire, White Huns, Kushano-Hephthalites and Shahi kingdoms.
In 997 CE, Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, took over the Ghaznavid dynasty empire established by his father, Sultan Sebuktegin, In 1005 he conquered the Shahis in Kabul in 1005, and followed it by the conquests of Punjab region. The Delhi Sultanate and later Mughal Empire ruled the region. The Punjab region became predominantly Muslim due to missionary Sufi saints whose dargahs dot the landscape of Punjab region.
After the decline of the Mughal Empire, the Sikh invaded and occupied Narowal District. The Muslims faced severe restrictions during the Sikh rule. During the period of British rule, Narowal district increased in population and importance.
The predominantly Muslim population supported Muslim League and Pakistan Movement. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the minority Hindus and Sikhs migrated to India while the Muslim refugees from India settled in the Narowal District.
