DmC: Devil May Cry is an action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Ninja Theory and published by Capcom for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. It is the fifth installment of the Devil May Cry series, serving as a reboot. Announced in late 2010 during the Tokyo Game Show, the game is set in an alternate reality in the Devil May Cry series. The game's story focuses on the player character Dante, a young man at the start of his saga. Dante is a Nephilim; half-angel, half-demon. He is partnered with his twin brother, Vergil, and is on a quest to kill the Demon King Mundus, who murdered their mother and condemned their father to banishment. Players can use Dante's iconic sword, Rebellion, and signature handguns, Ebony and Ivory, as well as a variety of other melee weapons and firearms to defeat enemies. The game also introduces Angel Mode and Devil Mode, which are modifiers to Dante's moveset. The re-imagination of the Devil May Cry series was requested by Capcom, resulting in a total reboot. Capcom chose Ninja Theory to develop the game, assisting them to ensure that gameplay was reminiscent, but distinct, compared to previous titles. DmC: Devil May Cry is an alternate universe, having no connection to the current/canon of the original series while starting from the beginning of Dante's exploits as a demon hunter, and showing his growth into something similar to the classic counterpart. The story takes place in Limbo City, a contemporary town secretly controlled from the shadows by powerful demons, manipulating humanity through the comforts of life. Living on the fringes of the brainwashed society is Dante, a disenfranchised youth at odds with the demons who constantly hunt him, and have made his life a living hell for as long as he could remember. Over the course of his battles through the twisted streets of Limbo, Dante is contacted by The Order, a rogue group led by his long-lost brother Vergil, hell-bent on exposing the demons to the world and releasing Limbo City from their clutches. However, as The Order's principle reason for recruiting Dante is because he alone possesses a particular gene that can be used to combat the demons, he remains wary of Vergil and questions his intentions. While Dante fights alongside The Order, he will learn of his past and the family he never knew, while coming to grips with the incredible powers that come with being a Son of Sparda. When Dante was tortured , there was this girl she met and saved him , then left without saying her name . But she said ' I'll meet you soon again. In the middle of the story she shows up. Characters include: Dante, Kat, Eva, Phineas, Sparda and Vergil. Weapons include: Aquila, Arbiter, Ebony & Ivory, Eryx, Kablooey, Ophion, Osiris, Rebellion and Revenant. Enemies include: Lesser Stygian, Stygian, Ravager, Death Knight, Dreamrunner, Elite Stygian, Bathos, Pathos, Harpy, Witch, Rage, Tyrant, Butcher, CCTV Camera, Demonic Shards. Bosses include: The Hunter, Poison, Bob Barbas, Lilith, Killing Face, Drekavac and Mundus.
