Precision agriculture technology - pasture and crop sensing - nominated by Massey University
Professor Ian Yule is the Professor of Precision Agriculture (PA) at Massey University and leads a research programme focused on pasture and crop sensing for measuring growth rates and quality, as well as advanced methods for fertilizer application.
As lead inventor of the Pasture Meter (www.pasturemeter.co.nz), Professor Yule's research has contributed significant economic benefit to NZ, equating to around $46 million in productivity gains currently, with the potential for another $400 million if the entire dairy industry adopted this technology.
The Pasture Meter is also being sold overseas as the rest of the world recognizes the benefit of rapid pasture measurement within a pastoral management system. The Pasture Meter is licensed to and marketed by C-Dax Ltd and is protected by patents in all its main markets.
One of Professor Yule's strengths lies in his ability to transfer technology to the agriculture sector, presenting his research to industry groups, championing not only the economic benefits from precision agriculture application but also the benefits to the environment. It is this intersection of farming, economics and sustainability that drives Professor Yule's work.
He is an active collaborator within the NZ research community, industry groups and long-standing commercial partners primarily through the commercialisation of the Pasture Meter. The Pasture Meter (with C-Dax) along with Aerial scanning technology (with Ravensdown) demonstrates Professor Yule's ability to develop practical solutions to industry problems.

Ian, Iain (/ˈiː.ən/; Scottish Gaelic pronunciation: [ˈɪʲən]) is a name of Scottish Gaelic origin, corresponding to English/Hebrew John. It is a very popular name in much of the English-speaking world and especially in Scotland, where it originated. Ian was the 19th most popular male name, taking account of the whole British population (over 300,000 Ians in total).

Massey University (Māori: 'Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa') is a university located in Palmerston North, New Zealand, Albany, New Zealand, and Wellington, New Zealand. Massey University has approximately 35,000 students, 17,000 of whom are extramural or distance-learning students.

Aesop Rock
Ian Matthias Bavitz (born June 5, 1976), better known by his stage name Aesop Rock, is an American hip hop recording artist and producer residing in Portland, Oregon. He was at the forefront of the new wave of underground and alternative hip hop acts that emerged during the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was signed to El-P's Definitive Jux label until it went on hiatus in 2010. betterPropaganda ranked him at number 19 at the Top 100 Artists of the Decade.
He is a member of the groups The Weathermen, Hail Mary Mallon (with Rob Sonic & DJ Big Wiz), The Uncluded (with Kimya Dawson) and Two of Every Animal (with Cage). Regarding his name, he said: "I acquired the name Aesop from a movie I had acted in with some friends. It was my character's name and it sort of stuck. The rock part came later just from throwing it in rhymes."

Bavitz was born at Syosset Hospital in Syosset, New York and raised in Northport, Long Island, New York to his father Paul and mother Jameija. Ian has two brothers: Chris (born 1975) and Graham (born 1977). Ian, along with his siblings, was raised Catholic but later on in his life became agnostic. Bavitz attended Northport High School in 1990 and graduated in 1994. He married Allyson Baker, guitarist and vocalist of rock band Dirty Ghosts in 2005. They resided in San Francisco but have since divorced.

Frank Finlay
Francis "Frank" Finlay, CBE (6 August 1926 – 30 January 2016) was an English stage, film and television actor. He was Oscar-nominated for his supporting role in Olivier's 1965 film of Othello and got his first leading role on television in 1971 as Casanova, which led to appearances on The Morecambe and Wise Show. He remains best-known for his role in the controversial drama Bouquet of Barbed Wire.
Early life
Finlay was born in Farnworth, Lancashire, the son of Margaret and Josiah Finlay, a butcher. He was educated at St Gregory the Great School but left at the age of 14 to train as a butcher himself at the family firm, gaining a City and Guilds Diploma in the trade.
Stage career
Finlay made his first stage appearances at the local Farnworth Little Theatre, in plays that included Peter Blackmore's Miranda in 1951. The current Little Theatre president, also in the cast of that Miranda production, remembers him as a perfectionist in his craft. He also played in rep, initially in Scotland, before winning a scholarship to RADA in London.

Professor Ian Yule is the Professor of Precision Agriculture (PA) at Massey University and leads a research programme focused on pasture and crop sensing for measuring growth rates and quality, as well as advanced methods for fertilizer application.
As lead inventor of the Pasture Meter (www.pasturemeter.co.nz), Professor Yule's research has contributed significant economic benefit to NZ, equating to around $46 million in productivity gains currently, with the potential for another $400 million if the entire dairy industry adopted this technology.
The Pasture Meter is also being sold overseas as the rest of the world recognizes the benefit of rapid pasture measurement within a pastoral management system. The Pasture Meter is licensed to and marketed by C-Dax Ltd and is protected by patents in all its main markets.

Danny is also a member of the Independent Scholars Association of Australia Inc. He joins us to discuss his theory of human origins. He begins with a reassessment of Neanderthal behavioral ecology. He'll explain Neanderthal Predation (NP) theory revealing that Neanderthals were 'apex' predators who resided at the top of the food chain and everything, including humans was their prey. Danny explains how Neanderthals are the origins of our deep source of fear. Vendramini suggests that Eurasian Neanderthals abducted, raped and interbred with early humans in the Middle East producing hybrids. We'll discuss sexual predation, the most important aspect of his theory, when mating drastically changed bringing forth romantic love. He also explains how Neanderthals jump started our evolution into the modern human. In the second hour we'll speak more on the disappearance of the Neanderthal from the historical record. Danny continues on selection pressure for strategic adaptations, including cognitive ability, male aggression, language capacity, gender roles and creativity. We end the hour on the sad consequences of predation, deeply engrained into our consciousness. He explains how awareness is fundamental.
