Saathi is a 1991 Bollywood film directed by Mahesh Bhatt and was written by Robin Bhatt. It starred Aditya Pancholi, Varsha Usgaonkar, Mohsin Khan, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal. This is one of the films for which Pancholi is best known as well as being the cricketer Mohsin Khan's only hit.

Synopsis :
Dr. Ravi returns from abroad and takes up position as Chief Surgeon in a hospital. He then meets with Nurse Shanti, who lives an impoverished lifestyle with her ailing mother, and decides to perform surgery, but she passes away, and a guilt-ridden Ravi marries Shanti much to the chagrin of his mentor, Kaka, who had hoped that he would marry his daughter, Rajni. The couple then travel to Kashmir for their honey-moon, and then settle down to a harmonious relationship. Hoping to travel even more, their plans are interrupted by the hospital's head doctor, who wants Ravi to focus on cancer research. The couple drop all travel plans and immerse themselves in research so much so that Shanti herself becomes ill, and not wanting to become a burden, leaves. A frantic Ravi searches high and low in vain, and is subsequently devastated to learn that she has perished in a train accident. Kaka then becomes very ill and Kaki tells Ravi that the cause of his illness is Rajni's insistence that she not marry anyone except Ravi. As a result, Ravi marries her but is unable to get Shanti out of his mind. An embittered Rajni feels neglected and decides to confront him - resulting in his losing his vision - perhaps never to see again - and unable to do any further cancer research .....

Aditya Pancholi
Aditya Pancholi is an Indian film actor working in Hindi Cinema. Aditya first came to limelight for portraying the Rajput character Chhota Ghoda in the Mukul S. Anand multi-starrer Maha-Sangram. He again gave an award winning performance in the Mahesh Bhatt film Saathi and the Sanjay Gupta directed Aatish: Feel the Fire. His performance in Yes Boss, Khilona and the double role in Jung was also very well received. He has also proved his worth in many villainous roles as well, the recent being Bodyguard and Race 2.
His solo performance in Yaad Rakhegi Duniya which is the unofficial remake of Mani Ratnam's National Award Winning 1989 Telugu Film Geethanjali was brilliant. His solo performance in Sailaab, Naamcheen, Chor Aur Chaand was appreciated though films were average at the box office.
He got two nomination. In 1998 Nominated Filmfare Best Villain Award for Yes Boss and in 2011 Nominated Global Indian Film & TV Honours award for Best Villain in Striker. He is a tall actor with a height of 6'3" or (1.91 m).

Anupam Kher
Anupam Kher (born 7 March 1955) is an Indian actor who has appeared in several hundred films and many plays. Mainly working in Hindi films, he has also appeared in acclaimed international films such as the 2002 Golden Globe nominated Bend It Like Beckham, Ang Lee's 2007 Golden Lion winning Lust, Caution, and David O. Russell's 2013 Oscar winning Silver Linings Playbook. Kher has won the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role five times. For his performance in film Vijay he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
He has held the post of chairman of Central Board of Film Certification and National School of Drama in India. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution in the field of cinema and arts.
His wife, actress Kirron Kher is a Member of the Indian Parliament from Chandigarh.
Early life
Kher was born on 7 March 1955 in Shimla. His father was a clerk and he had a modest upbringing. He received education at D.A.V. School in Shimla. In his struggling days as an actor in Mumbai he used to sleep on the railway platform before he found fame and fortune in films. He is an alumnus and a former chairperson of the National School of Drama. Some of his early acting roles were in plays performed at the Himachal Pradesh University.

He then meets with Nurse Shanti, who lives an impoverished lifestyle with her ailing mother, and decides to perform surgery, but she passes away, and a guilt-ridden Ravi marries Shanti much to the chagrin of his mentor, Kaka, who had hoped that he would marry his daughter, Rajni. The couple then travel to Kashmir for their honey-moon, and then settle down to a harmonious relationship. Hoping to travel even more, their plans are interrupted by the hospital's head doctor, who wants Ravi to focus on cancer research. The couple drop all travel plans and immerse themselves in research so much so that Shanti herself becomes ill, and not wanting to become a burden, leaves. A frantic Ravi searches high and low in vain, and is subsequently devastated to learn that she has perished in a train accident. Kaka then becomes very ill and Kaki tells Ravi that the cause of his illness is Rajni's insistence that she not marry anyone except Ravi. As a result, Ravi marries her but is unable to get Shanti out of his mind. An embittered Rajni feels neglected and decides to confront him - resulting in his losing his vision - perhaps never to see again - and unable to do any further cancer research .....
