The Japan Academy Prize (日本アカデミー賞, Nippon Akademī-shō), often called the Japan Academy Awards or the Japanese Academy Awards, is a series of awards given annually since 1978 by the Nippon Academy-shō Association for excellence in Japanese film. Award categories are similar to the Academy Awards.
The award statue itself measures 27 cm × 11 cm × 11 cm (10.7 in × 4.4 in × 4.4 in).
The 37th Japan Academy Prize Ceremony took place on Friday March 7, 2014 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo.
Fullmetal Alchemist (Japanese: 鋼の錬金術師, Hepburn: Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, lit. "Alchemist of Steel") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa. It was serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine between August 2001 and June 2010; the publisher later collected the individual chapters into twenty-seven tankōbon volumes. The world of Fullmetal Alchemist is styled after the European Industrial Revolution. Set in a fictional universe in which alchemy is one of the most advanced scientific techniques, the story follows the Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse, who are searching for a philosopher's stone to restore their bodies after a failed attempt to bring their mother back to life using alchemy.
The manga was published in English by Viz Media in North America, Madman Entertainment in Australasia, and Chuang Yi in Singapore. It has been adapted into two anime television series, two animated films—all animated by Bones studio—and light novels. Funimation dubbed both television series and films into English and released them for North America; these were distributed in other regions by several other companies. Viz Media localized the light novels, and Funimation and Destineer have localized the video games. Original video animations, video games, supplementary books, collectible card game and a variety of action figures and other merchandise have been based on the series' characters.
The Academy Awards, or "Oscars", is an annual American awards ceremony hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to recognise excellence in cinematic achievements in the film industry as assessed by the Academy's voting membership. The various category winners are awarded a copy of a statuette, officially called the Academy Award of Merit, which has become commonly known by its nickname "Oscar". The awards, first presented in 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, are overseen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
The awards ceremony was first broadcast to radio in 1930 and televised in 1953. It is now seen live in more than 200 countries and can be streamed live online. The Oscars is the oldest entertainment awards ceremony; its equivalents, the Emmy Awards for television, the Tony Awards for theatre, and the Grammy Awards for music and recording, are modeled after the Academy Awards.
The 88th Academy Awards ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theatre on February 28, 2016 and hosted by Chris Rock. A total of 2,947 Oscars have been awarded since the inception of the award through the 87th. The 88th awards ceremony has become the target of a potential boycott, based on critics' perception that its all-white acting nominee list reflects bias. In response, the Academy has initiated "historic" changes in membership by the year 2020.

Fullmetal Alchemist (fma) is one of those anime that u cant forget no matter how hard u try. its awesome in every single aspect. and here's a OST from fma. name: Brothers artist: Michiru Oshima & BEPA the lyrics is Russian so here's the translation... How can I repay you, brother mine? How can I expect you to forgive? Clinging to the past, I shed our blood. And shattered your chance to live. Though I knew the laws, I payed no heed. How can I return your wasted breath? What I did not know has cost you dear, For there is no cure for death. Beautiful mother, soft and sweet, Once you were gone we were not complete. Back through the years we reached for you, Alas 'twas not meant to be. And how can I make amends? For all that I took from you? I led you with hopeless dreams, My brother, ...

With some little editing, it managed to sound really lyrical and powerful – which is what I want when playing a song like this. Also, to the people who commented about the tuning of the piano, I will have it tuned in a couple of days. Personally though, I find the slightly out of tune sound...

Here are two volumes of music from the NHK documentary series designed to introduce the famous London landmark to Japanese audiences, with 6 episodes devoted to ancient art from Greece, Egypt, India, Asia, and Latin America. Volume 1 has 9 tracks by Michiru Oshima and 6 by Masatsuga Shinozaki. In addition there is one tune ("Voice of Time") written by both of them which appears in 3 variations (vocalise, instrumental, vocal). There are 2 other vocals too, one by each composer, and both sung by Dido (tracks 7 & 13). The music (for orchestra and synth) is a lot of things: exotic, percussive, majestic. The cover credits "Shikibu" for the music, which is the name Oshima and Shinozaki created for their music collaborations. Polystar (Japan) CD # PSCX-1009. Released in 1990. Polystar (Japan) CD...

My 3 guitar arrangement of "You Were There," the song that plays during the ending sequence of the videogame Ico (2001, PlayStation 2). This arrangement, in which I overdubbed all 3 guitar parts, was inspired by The Last Guardian, which is the latest game from Ico's designer, Fumito Ueda. Another version of this arrangement that will feature my brother Adrian on flute is coming soon, too. :) Enjoy!!
