Alabang

Alabang is a barangay in the Muntinlupa City, Philippines. At one time the area was a farming district, and has since grown from a village to a commercial center, including the Alabang Commercial Center and Filinvest City. It is also near the Madrigal Business Park. It is 8.064 square kilometers. A large portion of Ayala Alabang came from Barangay Alabang.

Filinvest City

Barangay Alabang, part of the second district of Muntinlupa, has undergone tremendous growth mainly due to a development boom in the late 1990s. The development of High-End large scale commercial real estate projects; the Filinvest City, changed the landscape of the Alabang Alabang from what was once vast fields of cow pasture in the late 1980s, into a district that houses new residential, business, industrial and commercial establishments.

Festival Alabang

Festival Alabang formerly known as Festival Supermall is a shopping mall owned and operated by Filinvest Land, Inc.'s subsidiary, Filinvest Alabang, Inc. The mall is located at Filinvest Corporate City (now Filinvest City) in Alabang, Muntinlupa, in the Philippines. The mall opened on 15 May 1998. The whole Festival Supermall complex has an area of 20 hectares.

On the first quarter of 2014, its Administration has recently completed the initial phase of the extension of the mall called the River Park.

Location

It is located in the center of Filinvest City, a business district in Alabang. The mall is accessible via South Luzon Expressway from Filinvest Exit, Alabang Exit, and South Station Exit, and also via the National Highway and Alabang-Zapote Road. Festival Alabang is also adjacent to some of the malls South of Metro Manila, namely Alabang Town Center, SM Southmall, Starmall Alabang (Formerly Metropolis) and Lianas Alabang.

Currently, Festival Alabang has six anchor stores; Shopwise Supercenter, SM Savemore, Robinsons Department Store, Ace Hardware, Handyman. It has 700+ specialty stores, boutiques and kiosks, a total of 2,300 hourly charged multi-level parking slots, various food outlets in the 1000-seat Food Junction, 10 theater cinema multiplex and two indoor theme amusement centers.

Ayala Alabang

Ayala Alabang is the third largest barangay in Muntinlupa City, Philippines in terms of land area. A large portion of it came from Barangay Alabang. Its land area of 6.949 km² (2.683 sq mi) includes Alabang Town Center, Ayala Alabang Village, El Molito, and Madrigal Business Park. Barangay Ayala Alabang is located around 13 miles (21 km) south of the capital Manila.

History

Barangay Ayala Alabang was created by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 on March 25, 1982. It was originally a part of Barangay Alabang. It was separated from Barangay Alabang and "constituted into a distinct and independent barangay" named Barangay New Alabang by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 which was passed and approved on March 25, 1982. The name was changed to Barangay Ayala Alabang in November 2003, after the public hearing conducted by the City Government of Muntinlupa for this purpose.

In compliance of Section 3 of Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 which provides that "the first barangay officials shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected or appointed and qualified", then President Ferdinand E. Marcos appointed Don Enrique Zobel as the first Chairman of Barangay Ayala Alabang and Gumersindo Leuterio, Benito Araneta, Edgardo Gatchalian, Mario Torcuator, Jaime Matias and Inigo Zobel as the first councilmen.

Alabang Town Center

Alabang Town Center is a shopping mall owned by Ayala Malls in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, Philippines. It caters to the retail needs of citizens living in southern Metro Manila, particularly those from Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa.

Retailers include Rustan’s Department Store and a number of High-End Brands, including Marks & Spencer and The Gap.

The True Value hardware store there, was renovated in 2009.

2010

On October, the first Serenitea ATC branch opened in the Cinema Building.

2011

In 2011, some new stores and shops opened in the New Wing such as Payless and Geleia.

2012

In 2012, there was an expansion and a new wing in the lower ground floor, the ground floor, and the second level, where many restaurants, stores, and shops were added. In the same year, restaurants outside at the Corte Delas Palmas, such as Chili's, Jamba Juice, Krispy Kreme and P. F. Chang's China Bistro, were also opened.
