High-rise fire - Chicago fire department [Ride along]

This is a video that you won't see often: ride along with Chicago's Aerial Tower 1 to a confirmed high rise fire (still and box high rise) in north downtown. At 1:52 you can see the screen with all the units responding to the initial dispatch: 6 engines, 3 trucks, 3 battalions and 4 special units. Engine 1, Aerial tower 1 and ambulance 41 respond out of the fire house in the South Loop and make their long way to the north. While en route you can hear the dispatch assigning the different functions to the responding units. Because of many calls coming in, at 6:30 an EMS Plan 1 has been announced, this means a response of additional units: 1 Engine, 1 Truck, 5 ALS Ambulances, 2 BLS Ambulances, 1 Battalion Chief, 1 EMS Field Officer, 1 EMS Assistant Deputy Chief Paramedic. After reaching the scene you will have an overview of what was going on in the street. Since the fire was in one of the upper floors (5 floors from top) I could not see anything from the ground. Note all the tourists looking at the trucks, this must have been a great attraction. Aerial Tower is the only unit of that kind in the city. Löschfahrzeug 1, Drehleiter 1 und Rettungswagen 41 verlassen die Feuerwache im South Loop und machen sich auf den langen Weg Richtung Norden. Unterwegs hört man den Funkverkehr wie die Leitstelle den Einheiten ihre Sonderaufgaben zuweist. Da sich viele Anrufer meldeten wurde bei 6:30 ebenfalls MANV Stufe 1 ausgelöst. Das bedeutet eine Alarmierung zusätzlicher Einheiten: 1 Löschfahrzeug, 1 Drehleiter, 5 ALS Rettungswagen, 2 BLS Rettungswagen, 1 Einsatzleiter, 1 organisatorischer Leiter Rettungsdienst und 1 stellvertretender Rettungsdienstchef. Nach Ankunft an der Einsatzstelle bekommt man einen guten Überblick wieviele Einsatzmittel vor Ort sind. For more than 160 years, Stockton Firefighters have held an annual banquet recognizing the tradition, duty, honor, and pride of their profession. We would like to thank those who assisted in making 2016 Installation Dinner possible. The Stockton Fire Department responded to approximately 40,000 emergencies in 2015, more that 300 of which were working structure fires. Considering that the Stockton Fire Department only consists of 12 firehouses for the 309,000 residents protected- this frequency of responses PER CAPITA makes them one of the busiest fire departments in the nation. No training burns or video was used in the editing of this Year In Review. All video was captured on working emergency incidents. Engine 18 is not only home to dedicated firefighters, but it is also the original filming location of NBC's hit-show. "Chicago Fire." This is hands-down the biggest story I have ever gotten. It was such a pleasure to be granted special access to Engine 18. The firefighters were so friendly. During the process of creating this video, I learned so many new, interesting things about the intense life of a firefighter, and about broadcasting. I felt that I was able to better myself as a reporter due to this package. Truly my favorite one.

They have called the cops on me 3 times now for telephonic harassment, charges that will never be proven because I know I didn't call so I am in no way worried. It is without a doubt that they will frighten me in any way possible so that I will take this video off youtube. Two Grants Pass Police Officers have told me that posting this "DISPARAGING" video on youtube is not illegal. definition of disparaging 1. To speak of in a slighting or disrespectful way; belittle. 2. To reduce in esteem or rank. ***If anybody was DISPARAGING on this video it would be the fire crew themselves.*** Part of Grants Pass Rural's problem with me based on the police report is that I have "been posting photos of (GPRFD) fire vehicles on line." Well, if you check out my youtube channel you will see that I have posted several fire departments on line (Grants Pass City, Rural/Metro, illinois Valley, Crescent City, Jacksonville, Medford, Glendale, Canyonville, Roseburg, Coos Bay, Albany, Portland ...) and yet no other fire department has ever complained and in all honesty I have had more compliments then anything else (THANKS COOS BAY FIRE!!!). I have also been told that I can not trespass on GPRFD property yet as far as I know i have never trespassed on any fire department property....that is unless you want to count the FDNY fire station for Engine 10 / Ladder 10 or maybe the LAFD Hollywood station (amazing stations and crews btw!). ***IF GPRFD did a perfect job on this fire then I promise you I still would have posted them on youtube. I do have dozens of "good" videos of other fire departments so it's not like I only film the dumb and stupid and idiotic.*** It is not my fault in any way that they, Grants Pass Rural Fire, make themselves look DISPARAGING. And on a side of caution I am not calling GPRFD dumb or stupid or idiotic, I am just simply saying that I would film the good, bad, stupid and evil. I would like to mention that this was my friends house just up the road that caught on fire and I originally went over checking if I could help out in any way possible, I WAS IN NO WAY THINKING "HOW COULD I MAKE GPRFD LOOK BAD?!?!" Now I did wait on the main road for several minutes so that I could point out the correct rural driveway for a rural/metro fire engine (7505??) but other then that I could do nothing else. It was only after I knew I could do nothing more that I started filming. This video was the second time I had filmed a working structure fire (first was the FDNY in Lower Manhattan!) and if you check my youtube you will see that I have recorded many more from that point on. ONE MORE NOTE AND THIS IS FOR THE EYES OF GPRFD's LINDA MILLER: I post more then just fire department videos. I have posted videos of dozens of concerts, parades, boat races, horse races, county fairs, festivals, air shows, animal life, PLUS New York City, Walt Disney World, President Bush (no comment), Yosemite, the film set for The Muppets on Hollywood BLVD (was amazing!), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hoover Dam, Golden Gate Bridge *AND* the University of Oregon Marching Band performing in the 2010 Rose Parade. This is a house fire that we had on May 9th, 2015. The fire was confined to one bedroom with some minor extension into the attic. The house is balloon frame construction which is very typical in Newark. I missed an good opportunity to order a transitional attack when the first engine arrived. A ten second blast through the front window might have been the key to a quicker knock-down. The first arriving engine is a mutual-aid company. This is happening more and more in Newark as our on-duty staffing diminishes due to budget issues. The mutual-aid unit done a great job as always, but that isn't by chance. We work well with our surrounding mutual-aid departments and include them in on our training when possible. I post these videos so that others in the fire service might be able to learn from the good and/or the bad. Please keep your comments respectful. A reported still alarm was toned out for 19th and Delaware around 5:30 PM, as I was sitting at Station 2 in Gary I peered my head around the corner and saw a large black header from the area. On arrival a fully involved 2.5 story frame building was found that was communicating to a 2 story brick corner store with apartments above. A second alarm was called by Division 2 which brought every piece of in service equipment to the scene along with mutual aid departments, the oly equipment not used were airport rigs. Crews had water on the fire in the first 5 minutes of being on scene and they brought the fire under control without injury or incident. Incredible job performed by the Gary Fire Department as usual and a special shout out to Firefighter Jordan JR. for rescuing the dog! I missed you guys, glad to be 10-8!!!!!!

Date/Time: 7/29/2015 1610 Hours Location: 15800 Block of La Paz Dr, Victorville, CA Incident: Residential Structure Fire Displaces Seven Summary: Firefighters from the City of Victorville responded to a reported Structure fire in the 15800 Block of La Paz Drive, in Victorville. Upon arrival, SBCoFD companies found a single story home well involved with one additional home catching fire. Firefighters engaged in an aggressive coordinated attack with hose lines and vertical ventilation, knocking the fire down in 30 minutes. Residents were outside prior to arrival and accounted for. Firefighters did a search to confirm no one was inside. One large dog was found in the search and was reunited with his owners. A total of 3 adults and 4 kids were displaced as a result of the fire. Red Cross was called to arrange for temporary housing, clothing and to assist with medications. Fire cause and origin is under investigation by San Bernardino County Fire Investigators. 5 Engines, 1 Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the accident. Damages are estimated at $150,000. Remember to have and practice a home escape plan, including your families meeting place. This avoids confusion in case of an emergency, and allows your family to account for each family member.

Initial attack and rescue attempts captured on HD quality video using a Contour Helemt Cam on the helmet of a Rescue Company Officer. Rescue was returning from another structure fire when they were dispatched to an apartment fire. What appeared as a routine fire changed when crews arrived on scene and excited family and neighbors reported as many as 5 people trapped. The footage is raw and unedited.
