Michael "Mike" McShane (born 1955/1956) is an American actor, singer, and improvisational comedian. He appeared in the early 1990s on the original British television show Whose Line Is It Anyway?. He voiced Marlon, Caracticus P. Doom, Blue Badly Drawn Brother, Barracuda Stink and TV Joe in Cosgrove Hall's Avenger Penguins, Tuck and Roll in A Bug's Life and Quozmir in Dave The Barbarian.
McShane gained exposure in the early 1990s from semi-regular appearances on the British show Whose Line Is It Anyway?. He later appeared with fellow Whose Line players Tony Slattery in the comedy sketch show S&M and Sandi Toksvig in the sitcom The Big One.
Other TV roles include a guest appearance on Seinfeld as Kramer's nemesis Franklin Delano Romanowski (FDR). McShane played Friar Tuck in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves in 1991, had a small role as a doomed hypnotherapist in the 1999 film Office Space, and played the friendly scientist, Professor Keenbean, in the 1994 movie Ri¢hie Ri¢h. In 1998 he appeared in an episode of Frasier as Frank, the manager of the Shangri-La apartments. He also co-starred with Sir John Gielgud, Emily Watson and Rosemary Harris in "A Summer's Day Dream" for BBC "Performance" series.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? is a short-form improvisational comedy show originating as a short-lived British radio programme, before moving to British television in 1988. Following the conclusion of the British run in 1999, ABC began airing an American version, which ran until 2007 and was later revived by The CW in 2013.
Each version of the show consists of a panel of four performers who create characters, scenes and songs on the spot, in the style of short-form improvisation games, many taken from theatresports. Topics for the games are based on either audience suggestions or predetermined prompts from the host. Both the British and the American shows ostensibly take the form of a game show with the host arbitrarily assigning points and likewise choosing a winner at the end of each episode. However, the show lacks the true stakes and competition of a game show (by design). The "game show" format is simply part of the comedy.

Mike McShane has endured five bouts of Squamous cell carcinoma cancer. He's spent a million dollars and has been treated with radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgery by this team of doctors at the Detroit Medical Center. Today, he believes the invasive treatments were unnecessary. He says he's cured his latest bout with the disease using a highly concentrated form of cannabis oil. Michael McShane and Gersh Avery are hanging out in my office, chain smoking cigarettes and talking about Jesus. "That may be why they hung him on that tree you know," Gersh says, waving his hand and sending a cascade of ashes across my desk. "What do you think was in that oil he was healing people with? It was cannabis." Three years ago, I wouldn't have believed the so called, "healing properties of cannab...

Ruby takes it easy, as does the shows budget, with this trawl back through her recent archive, featuring... Jennifer Saunders, Joan Rivers, Grace Jones, Mike McShane, Taffy Turner/ Mo Gaffney and Dot Cotton herself June Brown. Special mention for Taffy's section, the 'Psychics' are hilarious, they all appear not to be acting, the only one I'm not sure about is the Ethel Merman impersonator, but she's so crazy, it just could be real ;-) Enjoy!
A new resident arrives at the Mike McShane estate - Ting Tong's mother. Needless to say, Dudley's not too happy about the newest addition to the household, particularly when he learns that she's not planning to leave any time soon. Down on Larchwood Close, Neighborhood Watch leader Sid Pegg calls an urgent meeting following the arrival of a caravan in the area and, over at the Hill Grange Health Spa, Bubbles learns the reason why Roman left her for Desiree.
A trip to the Hill Grange Health Spa sees Roman getting a little more than he bargained for during a facial, when Bubbles takes his beauty treatment into her own rather ample hands. Down on the Mike McShane estate, it appears that Ting Tong has yet more secrets to divulge, much to Dudley's horror and exasperation. A weakness for women in green Lycra, however, gives Ting Tong the opportunity to persuade him to let her stay - just one more night.
At Hill Grange Health Spa, Bubbles De Vere receives a shock when she bumps into her ex-husband, Roman De Vere, and his new wife, ex-Olympic gymnast Desiree, who are honeymooning at the Spa. On the Mike McShane estate in Bruise, Dudley receives delivery of his new bride, Ting Tong Macadangdang, loving chosen from his Thai Brides For You brochure. Meanwhile, Mrs. Emery's inability to control her bodily functions in the local supermarket results in a nasty wet patch in the frozen foods section.
