Roland

Roland (Frankish: Hruodland) (died 15 August 778) was a Frankish military leader under Charlemagne who became one of the principal figures in the literary cycle known as the Matter of France. The historical Roland was military governor of the Breton March, responsible for defending Francia's frontier against the Bretons. His only historical attestation is in Einhard's Vita Karoli Magni, which notes he was part of the Frankish rearguard killed by rebellious Basques in Iberia at the Battle of Roncevaux Pass.

The story of Roland's death at Roncevaux Pass was embellished in later medieval and Renaissance literature. He became the chief paladin of the emperor Charlemagne and a central figure in the legendary material surrounding him, collectively known as the Matter of France. The first and most famous of these epic treatments was the Old French Chanson de Roland of the eleventh century.

Two masterpieces of Italian Renaissance poetry, the Orlando innamorato and Orlando furioso, are even further detached from history than the earlier Chansons. Roland is poetically associated with his sword Durendal, his horse Veillantif, and his oliphant horn.

The Creepshow

The Creepshow is a band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. The band formed in 2005 when the four original members got together with the purpose of starting a psychobilly band. The Creepshow writes the majority of their songs about horror films.

Former bands

The band has its roots in the 905 music scene with most members having been in various garage bands before The Creepshow. McNab was the singer/guitarist for local legends Outspan and Jersey. McGinty was the songwriter and trombonist for 905 ska band two-face and played trombone in Outspan as well. Matt "Pomade" Gee splits his time between The Creepshow and punk band Rehab for Quitters for which he also plays drums.

The Creepshow is known for their fast-paced songs filled with lots of backup vocals from McNab and McGinty and sing-alongs that the whole crowd can participate in. The band is also known for their live shows.

Labels

After initially recording two songs for the Zombie Night in Canada Vol. 2, Stereo Dymamite founder Adam (DOOM) Sewell signed the band after hearing the band's demo in 2005. The band released their first album Sell Your Soul on Stereo Dynamite shortly after on May 2, 2006.

Kenda

Kenda is a census town under Jamuria police station of Asansol subdivision in Barddhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Geography

Kenda is located at 23°12′N 86°32′E / 23.20°N 86.53°E / 23.20; 86.53. It has an average elevation of 229 m (751 ft). The Asansol-Durgapur region is composed of undulating latterite soil. This area lies between two mighty rivers – the Damodar and the Ajay. They flow almost parallel to each other in the region – the average distance between the two rivers is around 30 km. For ages the area was heavily forested and infested with plunderers and marauders. The discovery of coal led to industrialisation of the area and most of the forests have been cleared.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Kenda had a population of 14,517. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Kenda has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 51%. In Kenda, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Olivia Holt

Olivia Hastings Holt (born August 5, 1997) is an American actress and singer who starred in the Disney Channel Original Series I Didn't Do It. She played the role of Kim on the Disney XD series Kickin' It and starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster.

Personal life

Holt was born in Germantown, Tennessee, to parents Mark and Kim Holt. She has two siblings. At age three, her family moved to Nesbit, Mississippi, where she grew up after briefly living in Memphis, Tennessee. She now lives in Los Angeles with her family and attended culinary school.

Career

Holt began her acting career when she started performing in local theater productions. She has appeared in several television commercials, including Hasbro, Kidz Bop 14, Mattel, Bratz dolls,Littlest Pet Shop, and Girl Gourmet products.

Holt auditioned for Disney XD's martial arts show Kickin' It, which premiered in 2011. Possessing skills in gymnastics, she received a call back from the producers and joined the cast in the same year. She portrayed the role of Kim in the series from 2011 to 2014. Holt starred in the Disney Channel original film Girl vs. Monster. She plays the lead character Skylar Lewis, a teenage girl that discovers her family have long worked as monster hunters, and she's next in line. The film premiered in October 2012. She recorded three songs for the film, which were released as part of the Make Your Mark: Ultimate Playlist. She also recorded her version of "Winter Wonderland" for the Disney Channel Holiday Playlist album in 2012. Holt also starred in the Disney Channel show I Didn't Do It. Production for the show began in the summer of 2013 and the show first aired in 2014.
