Allmusic awarded the album 3 stars with its review by Scott Yanow stating, "By playing bop-oriented music in 1968, Charles McPherson could have been considered behind the times, but he was never a fad chaser and he has long had a timeless style. This music still sounds viable and creative decades later".

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF, German: Schweizerische Nationalfonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung, SNF; French: Fonds national suisse de la recherche scientifique, FNS) is a science research support organisation mandated by the Swiss Federal Government. The Swiss National Science Foundation was established under private law by physicist and medical doctor Alexander von Muralt in 1952.

Organisation

The SNSF consists of three main bodies: Foundation Council, National Research Council and Administrative Offices. The Foundation Council is the highest authority and makes strategic decisions. The National Research Council is composed of distinguished researchers who mostly work at Swiss institutions of higher education. They assess research proposals submitted to the SNSF and make funding decisions. The National Research Council comprises up to 100 members and is subdivided into four divisions:

Cingulin

Cingulin (CGN; from the Latin cingere “to form a belt around”) is a cytosolic protein encoded by the CGN gene in humans localized at tight junctions (TJs) of vertebrate epithelial and endothelial cells.

Discovery

Cingulin was originally discovered at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge, UK) by Dr. Sandra Citi, as a protein present in chicken intestinal epithelial cells, that co-purified with non-muscle myosin II and was specifically localized at tight junctions (zonulae occludentes).

Structure & interactions

Cingulin is a homodimer, each subunit containing a N-terminal globular "head" domain, a long α-helical coiled-coil "rod" domain and a small globular C-terminal "tail" region. This organization is highly conserved throughout vertebrates. However, cingulin homologs have not been detected in invertebrates.

In vitro, cingulin can bind to and bundle actin filaments, and interact with myosin II and several TJ proteins including ZO-1, ZO-2, ZO-3, paracingulin and occludin. Moreover, cingulin forms a complex with JAM-A, a tight junction membrane protein. Most of cingulin protein interactions are through the globular head domain. Cingulin interacts with ZO-1 through an N-terminal ZO-1 interacting motif (ZIM) in its head region. The rod domain is involved in dimerization and interaction with the RhoA activator, GEF-H1.

CGN-7

CGN-7 (an acronym for Columbia Gorge Network channel 7) is a regional television station that carries a variety of programs relevant to the Columbia Gorge. It was formed in 2008 by CGN, Inc. and broadcasts on channel 7 on Charter Communications. The station is headquartered at CGN-7 Studios in The Dalles, Oregon and has an additional major office in Hood River, Oregon.

Localite

Localite, CGN-7's flagship program, is a talk show hosted by TV personality Jon Compton. The 30-minute show is taped at CGN-7 Studios and features guests from around the Columbia Gorge.

Programming

CGN-7 broadcasts original and third-party programming during the morning (7am-10am) and evening (5pm-11pm) blocks. The daytime (10am-5pm) and late night (11pm-7am) blocks contain local information including event and dining guides, high school sports schedules and a CGN-7 programming guide. CGN-7 went off the air on December 20, 2011.
