Plot: Roos and Rana are two friends, who both have a difficult relationship with their parents. Roos' mother is single and when she goes to work, she expects her time after time to look after her twin brothers when she is working. Rana is of Turkish origin. BACONFEST AT LAURITA WINERY
If you love bacon then the Laurita Winery BaconFest might be your jam. On Saturday and Sunday, bacon lovers can consume such delicacies as a bacon-wrapped hot dog, bacon chocolate chip bread pudding, and chocolate covered bacon bites. MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS AT METLIFE STADIUM
Last week it was monster trucks, this week it's supercharged motorcycles at MetLife Stadium. The stadium plays host to nitro-charged Monster Energy Supercross this Saturday. This weekend's race will be the final event before the 2016 Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas and will feature Paterson-born rider Justin Barcia and Vicki Golden, who is attempting to be the first woman rider to ever make the finals. SHEN YUN AT NJPAC
You've seen the kiosks in every mall, you've seen the ads on TV -- now it's here, Shen Yun will at the NJPAC this weekend. The question you probably have is, what, exactly, is Shen Yun? Loosely translated as "the beauty of divine beings dancing," this is a dance-based production that explores the rich history of China. The Shen Yun production isn't ballet -- it's a combination of traditional Chinese dance with modern day special effects, performance art, and classical and solo musical performances. $64-$184. JERSEY ALL PRO WRESTLING RETURNS TO BAYONNE
Jersey All Pro Wrestling makes its return to Bayonne this Saturday at the new BCB Bank Pavilion. Jersey All Pro debuted in Bayonne roughly 20 years ago, beginning as a blood and guts "hardcore" wrestling promotion, but soon morphing into one of the premier wrestling companies in the Northeast. The "who's who" of JAPW alumni is impressive: WWE stars like Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn all made their name under the JAPW banner. On Saturday, their show will feature regulars like Low Ki, Da Hit Squad, and Charlie Haas mixing it up with up-and-comers like Joey Janela, Archadia, and Chris Dickinson. $20-$25. NJFUNNYFEST IN HOBOKEN
The creators of the Hoboken Comedy Festival will present the second annual NJfunny fest this weekend. The festival, which benefits the Liberty Humane Society, will feature comedians who've been featured on HBO, MTV, BET, and Comedy Central at venues throughout Hoboken. Thursday night's show will take place at Maxwell's Tavern, Friday's show will be at Willie McBride's, and the fest concludes on Saturday at The Shannon. $15 advance, $25 at the door. MONTCLAIR FILM FESTIVAL
The Montclair Film Festival will be a star-studded affair. The festival will run Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 8 at the following venues: The Wellmont Theater, The Audible Lounge (544 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair), Montclair Kimberley Academy, the Bellevue Theater, and Clairidge Cinemas. There will dozens of movies shown throughout the festival's run, and there will be some major names on hand. On Saturday, April 30 at 1p.m., "Love Actually" will be screened at The Wellmont with its director, Richard Curtis providing live commentary throughout. Around 4:30 p.m. Curtis will be speaking at the Montclair Kimberley Academy in a panel moderated by Stephen Colbert. On Sunday May 1 actors Margo Martingale ("The Americans") and Patrick Wilson ("Watchmen") will be involved in discussion panels at The Wellmont. "TRUCK"ERTON FOOD TRUCK AND BREW FIESTA
The Tuckerton Seaport will become an oasis for good eats, live music, and craft spirits this weekend. The seaport's popular "Truckerton" event will bring in food trucks serving up everything from fried Wisconsin cheese curds to award-winning cupcakes to artisan pizza to sumptuous dumplings. The craft beer garden will have selections from Pinelands Brewing and the Laurita Winery on hand. Musically, local favorites The Pickles as well as The Billy Walton Band, and Gary Phillips will be on hand scoring the entire weekend. With Cinco de Mayo just around the corner, there will also be live lucha libre (Mexican wrestling) on Saturday, a mariachi band on Sunday, a margarita bar, and taco-eating contest. $8. NEW JERSEY FOLK FESTIVAL
The 42nd annual New Jersey Folk Festival will strum its way into the hearts of Central Jersey this Saturday. Performing at the festival this year includes longtime Jersey folk staple Spook Handy, Asbury's Dark City Strings, Roger Deitz, The River Drifters, Tony Trischka & Skyline, as well as traditional Irish, Chinese, and Leni Lenape performances. The festival is also hosting a bluegrass showcase as well. Visitors can take a break from the music and wander into areas filled with artisans and vendors, crafts for kids, and the array of food they will have on hand will have you finger licking during the finger picking. TWO NIGHTS OF THE USED AT STARLAND
Emo and punk favorites The Used -- currently on their 15th anniversary tour -- will be presenting a two-night stand at The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville this weekend. On Friday night, the band will perform their entire self-titled record. The album which was released in 2002 features their massive hit "The Taste of Ink" and has been dubbed by NME Magazine as one of the 20 me records to survive the test of time.
