Mario Tennis, known in Japan as Mario Tennis 64 (マリオテニス64, Mario Tenisu Rokujūyon), is a 2000 sports video game developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 video game console. The game was released in North America and Japan in the summer of 2000, and released in Europe later in November. It is the first tennis-based game starring Mario since Mario's Tennis, and the second game developed by Camelot on a Nintendo system. The game is known for being the introduction of Waluigi, and the re-introduction of Princess Daisy and Birdo.
Mario Tennis was re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in 2010 and on the Wii U Virtual Console in 2015. The game's success led to three sequels: Mario Power Tennis released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2004, Mario Tennis Open released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012, and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash released in 2015.
Marking the sixth Mario game for the Nintendo 64, Mario Tennis brings eleven new characters to the Mario Tennis franchise, including Waluigi, Princess Daisy, Wario, Shy Guy, Donkey Kong and Birdo.
Mario (Japanese: マリオ, Hepburn: Mario, [ma.ɽi.o]) (English /ˈmɑːrioʊ/; Italian: [ˈmaːrjo]) is a fictional character in the Mario video game franchise, created by Nintendo's Japanese video game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto. Serving as the company's mascot and the eponymous protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom, his adventures generally center upon rescuing Princess Peach from the Koopa villain Bowser. His younger brother is Luigi.
The Mario franchise is the best-selling video game franchise of all time. Over 210 million units of the overall Mario series of games have been sold. Outside of the Super Mario platform series, other Mario genres include the Mario Kart racing series, sports games such as the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf series, role-playing games such as Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario, and educational games such as Mario Is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine. The franchise has branched into several mediums, including television shows, film, comics and licensed merchandise. Since 1995, Mario has been voiced by Charles Martinet.
Mario Power Tennis, known in Japan as Mario Tennis GC (マリオテニスGC, Mario Tenisu Jī Shī), is a sports game developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo for the GameCube in 2004. The game is the sequel to the Nintendo 64 title Mario Tennis, and is the fourth game in the Mario Tennis series. Power Tennis was released in Japan on October 28, 2004, in North America on November 8, 2004, and in Australia on February 25, 2005. The game was re-released for the Wii in 2009 as part of the New Play Control! collection of titles, featuring GameCube games with added Wii controls. As of 2012, the title is available as part of the Nintendo Selects collection.
Power Tennis incorporates multiple characters, themes, and locations from the Mario series. The game includes standard tennis matches, but contains variants that feature different scoring formats and objectives. Other variants include "Gimmick" courts, thematic areas with components and properties that directly affect gameplay. The game has 18 playable characters, each categorised by their style of play and each with a pair of unique moves known as "Power Shots".Power Tennis was developed simultaneously with Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, and the pair shared similar technology and concepts with each other during production. Such similarities include an emphasis on the Mario theme in characters and settings as well as alternative game modes such as "Ring Shot".
Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to play the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball will not gain a point, while the opposite player will.
Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including wheelchair users. The modern game of tennis originated in Birmingham, England, in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis". It had close connections both to various field ("lawn") games such as croquet and bowls as well as to the older racket sport of real tennis. During most of the 19th-century in fact, the term "tennis" referred to real tennis, not lawn tennis: for example, in Disraeli's novel Sybil (1845), Lord Eugene De Vere announces that he will "go down to Hampton Court and play tennis."

Mario Power Tennis was developed by Camelot Software & Nintendo and released on the Nintendo Gamecube and re-released on the Wii for Wiimote controls. This is the Gamecube Version (which I recommend). Recording, gameplay and advice (with minor research) given by me. Time to get a playthrough series started, and one that seemed to have much anticipation. This is the sequel to the popular Mario Tennis on the N64, where tennis combines with Mario to make for some zany, but awesome fun. In the sequel, there is the addition of Power shots, which adds a new level to the already fun mechanics of the original. The AI in this game is also improved at least in the higher difficulties. Here, we're skipping the easier Mushroom, Flower and Star Cups and going through the Star Tournament with all ...
This is a collection of every character's celebration for when they win a tournament trophy in Mario Power Tennis for the GameCube. Well, technically it is from New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis for Wii, but whatevers. There is something about Bowser's scene which makes me want to cry...

The wind blows
The child wakes
The years go
The heart breaks
The rains come, the castle falls
You lose hope
The soul cries
The fears grow
The time flies
Life goes on, but through it all
Chorus
Be strong, don't be afraid
You're not alone in this world
Be strong, take courage and fly
'Cause now's the time to stand
Walk in the promised land of life
Be strong
A road ends
A dream dies
You breathe deep
And realize
To press on, you must believe
The Lord knows
The tears dry
You find hope
You live life
You look back, and finally see peace
Chorus
Bridge
Feel the wind blow on your face
Taste the victory of grace
Touch the joy of freedom
Knowing you have overcome...
Chorus
Oh now's the time to stand
Walk in the promised land of life
