They call them Fingers, but we've never seen them fing... until now. Sydney dub-poppers Sticky Fingers found their way onto our rooftop studio back in March for an acoustic performance of their single Caress Your Soul. Sticky Fingers have a sound that's almost impossible to nail, borrowing from reggae, psychedelic rock, and soul, while still having a distinctive vibe that's all their own. Caress Your Soul is the title track from the band's debut LP, released last March, coming in at a respectable 61 on triple j's Hottest 100 of 2012. Be sure to check out the other tracks Sticky Fingers played for us when they stopped by: Happy Endings and Juicy Ones from their 2011 pair of EPs.
UK indie-rock quartet The 1975 have just wrapped up their biggest Australian shows yet and according to frontman Matt Healy, despite a slow start compared to the UK and America, things have officially heated up for the band and their Southern Hemisphere fans. “The shows are very intense. It’s weird because there are a lot of young kids, the main core audience I would say are 16-19 at the front, and [the shows are] a lot of young kids’ first shows. So the first 25 minutes of the show is just a shit-show,” he explains. “It’s just people getting pulled out and people fighting and passing out, there’s so much fainting that goes on especially in America and Australia.” The charismatic frontman also talked about the intentions behind the band’s self-titled debut album compared to their most re...
Swedish heavy-metal act Ghost, who toured Australia recently with the Big Day Out, dropped by Music Feeds Studio in full clergymen attire to perform a cover of American Roky Erickson's classic song 'If You Have Ghosts.' The song features on Ghosts' special Redux edition of their 2013 album Infestissumam, alongside covers of ABBA, Army Of Lovers and Depeche Mode. Commanded by vocalist Papa Emeritus II, Ghost make the most of the smaller performance space -- their energy is entrancing, and their rendition of Erickson's song is impressive. The five-piece band, commanded by vocalist Papa Emeritus II (who dressed down slightly for the occasion), make the most of the relatively limited space with a great-sounding performance and plenty of dark energy. Whether they're up on the biggest stages of some of the world's biggest festivals or tucked away inside Music Feeds Studio, Ghost make their impact felt. See More: http://musicfeeds.com.au/tv/

Californian rockers The Growlers are returning to Australia for a run of headline shows backed by their most recent album, Chinese Fountain and to celebrate they’ll be stopping by Music Feeds Studio this Friday for a session of Music Feeds LIVE. The Growlers made their Australian debut at four sold-out headline shows in March 2014 and are returning this time with a new full-length album in tow, filled with reverb-heavy surf-guitar, Bakersfield-style honky-tonk and a bit of ‘80s post-punk. In addition to their previously announced January shows in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, The Growlers have also added stops in WA to their Australian show with a show at The Bakery in Perth and the Dunsborough Tavern. See all the tour dates below. For your chance to see what The Growlers h...

Melbourne-via-Perth balladeer and Laneway Festival 2015 act Peter Bibby is currently on the road, touring his boozy debut album Butcher/Hairstylist/Beautician. Despite the intense Laneway touring schedule, Bibby is making time to perform live from Music Feeds Studio this Wednesday, 4th February. Bibby has some other musical projects in his back pocket, including Frozen Ocean and Fucking Teeth, but he has brought his unique brand of raw Aussie songwriting to the forefront on Butcher/Hairstylist/Beautician, and will be showcasing it as part of Music Feeds LIVE. “With BHB, I already had all the songs written and [bandmates] Nick and Johnny were pretty much backing me up, but they still had input. Johnny’s bass lines, Nicks production ideas,” Bibby tells Music Feeds. “But in terms of the so...
Psychedelic garage rockers SPLASHH are hitting our shores this month to perform shows in Sydney and Melbourne but before they take to the stage the band will be dropping into Music Feeds Studio for a performance and interview on Wednesday, 26th June. Hailing from New Zealand, Australia and the UK, SPLASHH have been gaining a lot of attention from critics after they settled in London to record and release the singles Headspins, Vacation, Need It and All I Wanna Do. Their tracks are a new brand of shoegaze that has none of the traditional angst and malaise. If anything Splashh, who have dubbed themselves serial vacationers, have a sound akin to summer holiday day-dreaming with plenty of fuzz. You can catch SPLASHH at this web page - http://musicfeeds.com.au/news/exclusive-live-stream-splas...

The show will kick off after a cheeky interview, where we are sure to get all the goss surrounding the record and the forthcoming tour. Sydney singer, songwriter and all-around enigma Alex Cameron will be getting down at Music Feeds Studio for an exclusive live-streamed performance on Monday, 27th May from 3:00pm AEST. You might already knows Cameron as the percussionist from electronic darlings Seekae, but you're about to get acquainted with his solo work, with the promising young talent recording his debut album and dropping his first single She's Mine. The track is what happens when a dance floor hit gets it on with an ode to unrequited love and is as much of a contradiction as the man himself, who, amongst other things, has a hardcore fanbase in Indonesia, a voice like honey, and a deep, untreated phobia of tsunamis. The stream kicks off on this page from 3:00pm AEST on Monday, 27th May, so be sure to join us and cur...
So-hot-right-now Sydney indie outfit Gang Of Youths will be hitting Music Feeds Studio for an exclusive live-streamed performance this Friday, getting your weekend started early with a blistering live set. Gang Of Youths have just dropped their corker of a debut single Evangelists, co-produced by none other than Jack Moffitt of The Preatures and indicates that the band are gonna be a force to be reckoned with. Surrounded by an air of mystery, the band came together "out of necessity and escapism", having reportedly met in evangelical Christian camps. They've already received a tonne of airplay on both triple j and FBi Radio, establishing exactly why they're attracting so much hype. Currently supporting our favourite psych poppers Cloud Control on a national tour, the band will be perman...
Gold Coast and Sydney boys Bootleg Rascal are up to antics again, having just dropped a funky sweet new single Oh I Know, with a suitably cheeky video to match. Not only that: They will be gracing us with their mischievous presence at the Music Feeds Studio this Monday for a session of Music Feeds LIVE. Bootleg Rascal only formed in May 2013, but have been making excellent use of themselves since then, releasing a refreshing collection of pop-dub-fusion tracks while skillfully ‘avoiding [their] day jobs.’ They tour the Aussie east coast regularly, they’ve played Woodford and supported Sticky Fingers. They’re already back on the road for a string of eastern dates, playing mostly intimate venues, which are sure to heat up quickly! Tune in right here after 2:00pm AEST this Monday, 8th Dec...
Currently touring in support of pals Dead Letter Circus, the much-adored Closure In Moscow will be popping in to Music Feeds Studio this Thursday for an interview and performance, both of which will be totally uncut and live. The timing couldn't be any more perfect. The band has spent much of the recent months hammering away on their sophomore album Pink Lemonade -- that is, when they weren't gigging their way around the country. The new record is shaping up to be a fairly loaded release with years of effort being put into the album, which is yet to be slapped with an official release date. Since dropping their 2009 debut First Temple, the band have gone on to become crowd favourites on an international scale. Rigorous touring has left these dudes hardened road dogs who know nothing if n...
Only a handful of bands can truly wear the title of Australian rock royalty and the mighty Spiderbait just might be at the top of that list. This Friday, the regal trio of Janet English, Kram, and Damian Whitty will be heading into Music Feeds Studio to perform as part of Music Feeds LIVE. Forming in Finley, NSW in 1989, the three soon moved to Melbourne to ingratiate themselves in the city's punk scene. The band were soon releasing singles that have since become Aus-rock classics, such as Buy Me A Pony, Shazam!, the smash-hit Black Betty, and recently Straight Through The Sun. To see one of Australia's most revered bands in action, tune in right here around 1:35pm this Friday, 15th November 2013 when we bring your Spiderbait sitting down for a quick interview before what's sure to be an...
American rockers NEEDTOBREATHE released their fifth studio album Rivers in the Wasteland last year, and are bringing it down under this month as part of their maiden tour of Australia. But before the tour kicks off, the South Carolina four-piece are stopping by Music Feeds Studio for a live performance and a chat, as part of Music Feeds LIVE. NEEDTOBREATHE are super keen to finally get down under; Rivers In The Wasteland is the band’s first major release in Australia. What’s more, their tour will be in support of charity organisation World Vision. “It will be our first time in Australia and we’re really looking forward to getting down there,” says Bear Rinehart. “We have so many fans there that have emailed us saying to come down there and when we got the opportunity to not just visit, b...
