Miles Teller is NOT happy about being portrayed as a “Dick” in Esquire mag, and his ‘Fantastic Four’ co-stars are all coming to his defense after the controversy.
Miles, who covers the latest issue of Esquire… Is firing back after an overwhelmingly unflattering profile that showcases the actor as “Kind of a dick”
Following the recent article that alludes to the 28 year-olds supposed “dickishness” throughout the article including mentions of his college obsession with smoking pot, his beer inspired bicep tatt… ANDDD some super cring worthy quotes from the actor himself like QUOTE: “I was thinking about that today, how I probably think I’m better-looking than the public thinks I am.”
Anyways Teller was not happy with this depiction of himself and took to twitter saying “@esquire couldn’t be more wrong. I don’t think there’s anything cool or entertaining about being a dick or an asshole. Very misrepresenting.”
He wasn’t the only one to speak out on the matter… His ‘Fantastic Four cast mates also backed him up on twitter. Jamie Bell said QOTE: @Miles_Teller is a great actor & great guy. @Esquire.” While Kate Mara had this to say: “My movie husband @Miles_Teller is crazy talented and a truly fantastic person. @Esquire.” While Michael B Jordan tweeted “@Miles_Teller is my boy and I’m a great judge of character @esquire.”
Talk about getting a whole cast of powerful actors mad at your brand…. Awkward…
Miles however has been known to cause up some controversy in the sarcastic department… That taken in different context from different people could read as having Dick like behavior. So it is possible that the journalist for the mag came into this interview ready to fire… However when looking at the article, some of Miles direct quotes are in your face and undeniably “Dickish” but I guess it’s all a thing about context and how it actually went down in person compared the written outline of the experience from the journalist.
However I’m curious to know what all of you are thinking about this unflattering profile of Mr. Fantastic in the latest issue of Esquire. Esquire is a men's magazine, published in the U.S. by the Hearst Corporation. Founded in 1932, it flourished during the Great Depression under the guidance of founder and editor Arnold Gingrich.
Esquire appeared, for the first time, in October 1933. Founded and edited by David A. Smart, Henry L. Jackson (who was killed in the crash of United Airlines Flight 624) and Arnold Gingrich. It later transformed itself into a more refined periodical with an emphasis on men's fashion and contributions by Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. In the 1940s, the popularity of the Petty Girls and Vargas Girls provided a circulation boost. In the 1960s, Esquire helped pioneer the trend of New Journalism by publishing such writers as Norman Mailer, Tim O'Brien, John Sack, Gay Talese, Tom Wolfe and Terry Southern. In August of 1969, Esquire published Normand Poirier's piece, An American Atrocity, one of the first reports of American atrocities committed against Vietnamese civilians. Under Harold Hayes, who ran it from 1961 to 1973, it became as distinctive as its oversized pages. The magazine shrank to the conventional 8½x11 inches in 1971. The magazine was sold by the original owners to Clay Felker in 1977, who sold it to the 13-30 Corporation, a Tennessee publisher, two years later. During this time New York Woman magazine was launched as something of a spinoff version of Esquire aimed at female audience. 13-30 split up in 1986, and Esquire was sold to Hearst at the end of the year, with New York Woman going its separate way to American Express Publishing. Megan Denise Fox (born May 16, 1986) is an American actress and model. She began her acting career in 2001 with several minor television and film roles, and played a regular role on the Hope & Faith television show. In 2004, she made her film debut with a role in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. In 2007, she was cast as Mikaela Banes, the love interest of Shia LaBeouf's character, in the blockbuster film, Transformers, which became her breakout role. Fox reprised her role in the 2009 sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Later in 2009, she starred as the eponymous lead in the film Jennifer's Body.
Fox is considered a sex symbol and frequently appears on men's magazine "Hot" lists, including Maxim and FHM.
Fox is of Irish, French and Native American ancestry, and was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to Darlene and Franklin Fox. She was raised as a Roman Catholic and attended Catholic school for 12 years. Fox's parents divorced when she was young. Fox's mother later remarried, and she and her sister were raised by her mother and her stepfather, Tony Tonachio. She said that the two were "very strict" and that she was not allowed to have a boyfriend or invite friends to her house. She lived with her mother until she made enough money to support herself.

Her father was a third generation Armenian American, and her mother is of Dutch and Scottish descent. Kardashian has two sisters, Kourtney and Khloé, and one brother, Robert. Miles Teller is NOT happy about being portrayed as a “Dick” in Esquire mag, and his ‘Fantastic Four’ co-stars are all coming to his defense after the controversy.
Miles, who covers the latest issue of Esquire… Is firing back after an overwhelmingly unflattering profile that showcases the actor as “Kind of a dick”
Following the recent article that alludes to the 28 year-olds supposed “dickishness” throughout the article including mentions of his college obsession with smoking pot, his beer inspired bicep tatt… ANDDD some super cring worthy quotes from the actor himself like QUOTE: “I was thinking about that today, how I probably think I’m better-looking than the public thinks I am.”
Anyways Teller was not happy with this depiction of himself and took to twitter saying “@esquire couldn’t be more wrong. I don’t think there’s anything cool or entertaining about being a dick or an asshole. Very misrepresenting.”
He wasn’t the only one to speak out on the matter… His ‘Fantastic Four cast mates also backed him up on twitter. Jamie Bell said QOTE: @Miles_Teller is a great actor & great guy. @Esquire.” While Kate Mara had this to say: “My movie husband @Miles_Teller is crazy talented and a truly fantastic person. @Esquire.” While Michael B Jordan tweeted “@Miles_Teller is my boy and I’m a great judge of character @esquire.”
Talk about getting a whole cast of powerful actors mad at your brand…. Awkward…
Miles however has been known to cause up some controversy in the sarcastic department… That taken in different context from different people could read as having Dick like behavior. So it is possible that the journalist for the mag came into this interview ready to fire… However when looking at the article, some of Miles direct quotes are in your face and undeniably “Dickish” but I guess it’s all a thing about context and how it actually went down in person compared the written outline of the experience from the journalist.
However I’m curious to know what all of you are thinking about this unflattering profile of Mr. Fantastic in the latest issue of Esquire. Harold Thomas Pace Hayes (April 18, 1926 – April 5, 1989), editor of Esquire magazine from 1963 to 1973, was a main architect of the New Journalism movement.
As an editor, Hayes appreciated bold writing and points of view, favoring writers with a flair for ferreting out the spirit of the time—writers like Gay Talese, Tom Wolfe, Norman Mailer, Michael Herr, John Sack, Gore Vidal, William F. Buckley, Garry Wills, Gina Berriault, and Nora Ephron. His editorial risks extended into graphic innovation by publishing George Lois' iconic covers like Sonny Liston wearing a Santa Clause hat, Andy Warhol disappearing in a can of Campbell's soup, and Muhammed Ali posing as St. Sebastian. Fiction editor Gordon Lish brought in stories by Raymond Carver. Diane Arbus contributed photographs. Robert Benton and David Newman thought up the Dubious Achievement Awards (and in their spare time wrote the screenplay for the movie Bonnie and Clyde).
More a general-interest magazine than a men's magazine then, Esquire was "a big, unruly book, its contents unbound by formulaic notions of what belonged there," Carol Polsgrove wrote in It Wasn't Pretty, Folks, But Didn't We Have Fun?,[1] her history of the Hayes era at Esquire.
Hayes edited an Anthology of Esquire's best writing of the 1960s called "Smiling Through the Apocalypse" which was published in 1971. in 2013, his son Tom, produced and directed a documentary about his father also called "Smiling Through the Apocalypse: Esquire in the 60s" featuring interviews with many of the surviving writers under Harold Hayes' tutelage. The 97' film is available on iTunes and Amazon.
Born April 18, 1926, in Elkin, North Carolina, Hayes earned an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest College, worked for United Press in Atlanta, served in the Marines, moved to New York to work for a small magazine called Pageant, and wound up in 1956 at Esquire, where he battled with several other young editors, among them Clay Felker (who went on to found New York magazine), for the job of top editor. Hayes won that contest, becoming first managing editor and then, on October 1, 1963, editor.
After Hayes left Esquire in 1973, he hosted a public television interview program, worked briefly as an editorial producer for (and, with Robert Hughes, the first cohost of) 20/20, became editorial director of CBS magazines and then editor of California magazine. He wrote three books on Africa -- The Last Place on Earth, Three Levels of Time, and The Dark Romance of Dian Fossey, the last developed from a November 1986 essay in Life magazine and later the basis for the 1988 film Gorillas in the Mist.
Hayes' personal papers are stored at the Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. The papers include correspondence with many of the famous writers Hayes worked with throughout his career.
He died in 1989 in Los Angeles, California, leaving a widow, Judy Kessler Hayes (he was divorced from his first wife, Susan Hayes), a daughter, Carrie O'Brien, and a son, Thomas. 13 days before his 63rd birthday.

Former truck driver and farmer Vasiliy Ilyn makes an affecting departure from his home village of Ryshkovo in the Kursk Obast region of Russia to see America for the first time, in today's poetic documentary from Alexander Khudokon. Conceived for Russian Esquire's September issue, it serves as the first installment of the new season of our director-showcasing series, Shorts on Sundays, which this time invites submissions for the best in new factual filmmaking. Ilyn visits Times Square and Brighton Beach in New York, and a dairy farm in New Jersey, before being shot for the cover of the magazine by Martin Schoeller, the award-winning photographer who has immortalized the likes of Barack Obama, Bill Murray and George Clooney. "For 90 issues we had celebrities on our covers," says Editor-in-Chief Dmitry Golubovsky. "This time we got a bit tired of it and dedicated the September issue to people who have never given an interview in their life." It turned out to be a transformative experience for Ilyn. "I think what impressed him the most was that many different people live all together in one big bowl," says Khudokon of his protagonist's journey. "The farm had the biggest impression on him—the way everything is organized, the order. He said that it looked like a paradise."

Для начала скажу, чтобы попасть на обложку Esquire, нужно как минимум уметь фотографировать в стиле Esquire. Для примера можно изучить работы великого Мартина Шоллера (Martin Schoeller). Сразу бросается в глаза оригинальная постановка света ( чему свидетельствуют блики в глазах), ну и плюс малая глубина резкости.

Сразу бросается в глаза оригинальная постановка света ( чему свидетельствуют блики в глазах), ну и плюс малая глубина резкости.
