Adam F

Adam F or Adam Fenton (born 8 February 1972, Liverpool, England) is an English record producer and DJ who has worked across various genres. He is also the co-founder of the prominent drum and bass label Breakbeat Kaos along with DJ Fresh.

Career

Adam began his certified Gold and Platinum producer status with his early release, the techstep 12", "Metropolis/Mother Earth", released in 1996 on the Metalheadz record label. His other early successes were the tracks "F-Jam" and "Circles" (the latter breaking into the Top 20 in the UK Singles Chart). In 1998 he won a MOBO award for his debut album, Colours. In 2001, he found success in the field of hip hop, primarily with his ground breaking collaborative musical effort, KAOS – The Anti-Acoustic Warfare, working alongside artists such as LL Cool J, Redman and De La Soul. In 2002, Adam created the score for the feature film Ali G Indahouse starring Sacha Baron Cohen for Working Title Films.

He is founder and co-owner of the UK independent record label, Breakbeat Kaos, which released Pendulum's album, Hold Your Colour; he is also co-owner of the drum and bass website, Dogs on Acid.

Adam (Ravenloft)

Adam is a fictional character; from the Ravenloft campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game.

Publication history

Adam was a major character in the 1994 novel, Mordenheim, written by Chet Williamson.

Fictional character biography

Adam is the darklord of Lamordia. Known as Mordenheim's Monster or the Creature, he is an extremely intelligent and nimble dread flesh golem, based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Adam is the most successful creation of Dr. Victor Mordenheim in his research into the creation of life, albeit the one that causes him grief unmeasured. Adam reduced the doctor's wife Elise to a vegetative state and apparently murdered their adopted daughter Eva.

The two are inextricably bound together: Dr. Mordenheim has Adam's immortality, and in return Adam shares the doctor's anguish.

Usually hidden from sight, Adam is believed to spend most of his time on the Isle of Agony, part of the archipelago known as the Finger.

Biographie

Adam Fenton wächst als Sohn der Glamrock-Legende Alvin Stardust in Liverpool auf.
Seit 1973 treibt er dort sein Unwesen, bereits als 15-Jähriger ist er als Keyboarder
mit The Moody Blues auf Tournee. Gleichzeitig versucht er in mehreren Funk- und
Soulbands sein Glück als Livemusiker. Fortuna küsst ihn aber erst, als er sich vom
musikalischen Einfluss des Vaters gelöst hat. Anfang der 90er bekommt er Zugang zur
Londoner Drum'n'Bass-Szene. Er legt eine Zeit lang als DJ bei den berüchtigten
Metalheadz-Nächten im "Blue Note"-Club auf und veröffentlicht einige
Jungle-Tracks auf Vinyl."The Bible", eine seiner ersten erfolgreichen
Aufnahmen aus dieser Zeit, verschafft ihm die nötige Präsenz. Er lernt die richtigen
Leute kennen und arbeitet mit ihnen an seinem ersten Album "Colours". Nicht
nur Dank der Hilfe von Goldie, Roni Size, Tracey Thorn (Everything But The Girl) und
Ronnie Jordan sahnt das Album richtig ab und macht Adam F über Nacht zum
international gefragten Act. "Colours" entpuppt sich als wegweisend und
wird als eine der wichtigsten Veröffentlichungen seines Genres gehandelt. Mit dem
Album im Gepäck tourt er die kommenden Jahre ausführlich mit seiner Live-Besetzung.
Dabei kommen auf der Bühne (fast) keine Playbacks zum Einsatz. Im Drum'n'Bass keine
so einfache Aufgabe, die seine Kollegen an Schlagzeug, Trompete, Sax, Flöte, Bass,
Gitarre und Keyboards perfekt meistern. Der Kick an seinen Performances aber sind
die MCs, die auch bei LTJ Bukem oder Intense eine wichtige Rolle spielen.
"Viele Leute sehen mich als Drum'n'Bass – Produzenten, aber ich selbst sehe
mich schlicht als Produzent. Ich liebe Drum'n'Bass, Funk, Hip Hop, Electro – und wer
sich 'Kaos' anhört, wird das alles darin entdecken". Tatsächlich wechselt Adam F
mit seiner zweiten Veröffentlichung radikal das Lager. "Kaos" wartet mit
cineastischem Hip Hop und LL Cool J, CNN, Beenie Man, Pharaoh Monch, Redman, M.O.P.,
De La Soul, Lil Mo und Guru als Gästen auf. "Auch wenn dies ein Hip Hop-Album
ist, findet man hier die Spannung und Atmosphäre, die man auch bei Drum'n'Bass
hört" meint Adam dazu, vergrault mit dem hippen Bombast-Hop aber erst mal seine
bisherigen Fans. Von der Rap-Gemeinde wird "Kaos" gut aufgenommen und auch
LL Cool J ist voller Begeisterung: "Ich denke, Adam F hat das Potential, ein
