El Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (MNBA) es un museo de arte argentino con sedes en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y en la ciudad de Neuquén (MNBA Neuquén). Este museo tiene el mayor patrimonio artístico del país y es uno de los principales de Latinoamérica.
The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (MNBA) ("National Museum of Fine Arts" in English) is an Argentine art museum in Buenos Aires, located in the Recoleta section of the city. The MNBA inaugurated a branch in Neuquén in 2004.Argentine painter and art critic Eduardo Schiaffino was the first director of the MNBA, which opened on 25 December 1895 in a building on Florida Street which today houses the Galerías Pacífico shopping mall. In 1909 the museum moved to a building in Plaza San Martín, originally erected in Paris as the Argentine Pavilion for the 1889 Paris exhibition, and later dismantled and brought to Buenos Aires. In its new home the museum became part of the International Centenary Exhibition held in Buenos Aires in 1910. Following the demolition of the Pavilion in 1932 as part of the remodelling of Plaza San Martín, the museum was transferred to its present location in 1933, a building originally constructed in 1870 as a drainage pumping station and adapted to its current use by architect Alejandro Bustillo. The museum was modernized both physically and in its collections during the 1955–64 tenure of director Jorge Romero Brest. A temporary exhibits pavilion was opened in 1961, and the museum acquired a large volume of modern art though its collaboration with the Torcuato di Tella Institute, a leading promoter of local, avant-garde artists, and elsewhere; a Contemporary Argentine Art pavilion was later opened in 1980. This 1,536 square metres (16,533 sq ft) hall is the largest of 34 currently in use at the museum, which totals 4,610 square metres (49,622 sq ft) of exhibit space. Its permanent collection totals 688 major works and over 12,000 sketches, fragments, potteries and other minor works. The institution also maintains a specialized library, totalling 150,000 volumes, as well as a public auditorium. The MNBA commissioned architect Mario Roberto Álvarez to design a branch in the patagonian region city of Neuquén. Inaugurated in 2004, this museum holds 4 exhibit halls totaling 2,500 square metres (26,910 sq ft) and a permanent collection of 215 works, as well as temporary exhibits and a public auditorium. The ground floor of the museum holds 24 exhibit halls housing a fine international collection of paintings from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century, together with the museum's art history library. The first floor's 8 exhibit halls contain a collection of paintings by some of the most important 20th-century Argentine painters, including Antonio Berni, Ernesto de la Cárcova, Benito Quinquela Martín, Eduardo Sívori, Alfredo Guttero, Raquel Forner, Xul Solar and Lino Enea Spilimbergo. The second floor's two halls, completed in 1984, hold an exhibition of photographs and two sculpture terraces, as well as most of the institution's administrative and technical departments.

La Presidenta destacó hoy que la inauguración de 18 nuevas salas del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes amplía 78% la capacidad para exhibir obras y "permite el acceso a la cultura de todos los sectores con entrada libre y gratuita". Anunció la restitución de 4.500 piezas arqueológicas a Perú y Ecuador.
Desde la Sala Antonio Berni, la presidenta Cristina Fernández de Kirchner destacó hoy que "los argentinos son propietarios de este museo que posee la colección de arte más importante de toda Latinoamérica", al inaugurar las obras de remodelación de 18 salas del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, en un acto transmitido en cadena nacional.
La ceremonia, que se llevó a cabo en la sede del Museo ubicado en la avenida del Libertador 1473, de esta Capital, tuvo lugar en la sala dedicada al maestro Antonio Berni. Su obra "La pesadilla de los injustos" es precisamente la que se pudo ver a espaldas de la mandataria durante el acto.
Las obras inauguradas abarcan la remodelación de 18 salas que conforman una superficie de 3.200 metros cuadrados, 16 en el primer piso y dos en el segundo del museo, todas dedicadas al arte argentino e internacional del siglo XX.
Señaló la jefa de Estado en su discurso por cadena nacional que "los argentinos tenemos un patrimonio cultural único, con mas de 13.000 obras", y que con la ampliación del museo podrán exponerse más de 1.000.
En tal sentido, subrayó que "en 12 años hemos engrandecido la infraestructura para que el arte argentino pueda ser exhibido", lo que hizo posible que "los argentinos sean propietarios de este museo que posee la colección de arte más importante de Latinoamérica".
Hizo hincapié en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes es el de mayor patrimonio artístico de nuestro país y uno de los principales de América Latina.
Puso asimismo de relieve que existe un proyecto para sacar de los depósitos obras que no pudieron ser exhibidas por falta de espacio y que ocupen un lugar en el Centro Cultural Néstor Kirchner, que dispone de metros para cobijarlas.
Destacó finalmente la importancia de que se sancione la ley que "reconoce la fotografía como arte mayor".
Durante el acto, la mandataria también procedió a restituir más de 4.000 piezas arqueológicas pertenecientes a Ecuador y Perú, a través de los respectivos embajadores de esos países.
"Es un honor y un placer estar restituyendo su patrimonio cultural a países como Ecuador y Perú, en un mundo que se ha caracterizado en arrebatar el patrimonio cultural a esos pueblos", dijo la jefa de Estado.
Sostuvo la jefa de Estado que "sería importante que se pueda cobrar una patente cultural, como hacen en los países centrales con las patentes medicinales, de semillas y otras, cuando no nos devuelven los tesoros culturales", y señaló que "de esa manera también viviríamos en un mundo mejor".
La restitución se divide en 4.000 piezas arqueológicas a Perú y otras 500 a Ecuador: se hallaban en casas particulares, locales y ferias de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, o ingresadas ilegalmente a nuestro país.
Estos objetos forman parte de un total de entre 15.000 y 20.000 restos arqueológicos, paleontológicos y paleobotánicos provenientes de América, Europa y Asia recuperados, entre los que hay piezas cerámicas que datan del año 3500 antes de Cristo. Las piezas se encontraban desde 2003 en custodia del Instituto Nacional de Antropología y Pensamiento Latinoamericano.
El Estado nacional cumple así lo dispuesto por la Ley 25743 de Protección de Patrimonio Arqueológico y Paleontológico, promulgada en 2003 por el presidente Néstor Kirchner, y concreta la entrega de estos bienes de inmenso valor histórico y científico a sus verdaderos propietarios.
De este modo, la Argentina se convierte en el primer país de Sudamérica en restituir patrimonios a otros Estados hermanos.
Participaron de la ceremonia el jefe de gabinete Aníbal Fernández; el secretario General de la Presidencia, Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro; la ministra de Cultura, Teresa Parodi; el canciller Héctor Timerman; y los ministros de Economía, Axel Kicillof, de Educación, Alberto Sileoni, y de Salud, Daniel Gollan.
También asistieron el gobernador de la provincia de Buenos Aires, Daniel Scioli, el titular de Aerolíneas Argentinas, Mariano Recalde; el diputado nacional Andrés Larroque; el secretario de Comunicación Pública, Alfredo Scoccimarro; el presidente del Instituto de Cultura bonaerense, Jorge Telerman; y la directora ejecutiva del museo, Marcela Cardillo, entre otros funcionarios y legisladores, además de numerosos artistas como Daniel Santoro, Marta Minujín, Sara Facio, Adriana Lestido y Rep.

The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (MNBA) ("National Museum of Fine Arts" in English) is an Argentine art museum in Buenos Aires, located in the Recoleta section of the city. The MNBA inaugurated a branch in Neuquén in 2004.Argentine painter and art critic Eduardo Schiaffino was the first director of the MNBA, which opened on 25 December 1895 in a building on Florida Street which today houses the Galerías Pacífico shopping mall. In 1909 the museum moved to a building in Plaza San Martín, originally erected in Paris as the Argentine Pavilion for the 1889 Paris exhibition, and later dismantled and brought to Buenos Aires. In its new home the museum became part of the International Centenary Exhibition held in Buenos Aires in 1910. Following the demolition of the Pavilion in 1932 as part of the remodelling of Plaza San Martín, the museum was transferred to its present location in 1933, a building originally constructed in 1870 as a drainage pumping station and adapted to its current use by architect Alejandro Bustillo. The museum was modernized both physically and in its collections during the 1955–64 tenure of director Jorge Romero Brest. A temporary exhibits pavilion was opened in 1961, and the museum acquired a large volume of modern art though its collaboration with the Torcuato di Tella Institute, a leading promoter of local, avant-garde artists, and elsewhere; a Contemporary Argentine Art pavilion was later opened in 1980. This 1,536 square metres (16,533 sq ft) hall is the largest of 34 currently in use at the museum, which totals 4,610 square metres (49,622 sq ft) of exhibit space. Its permanent collection totals 688 major works and over 12,000 sketches, fragments, potteries and other minor works. The institution also maintains a specialized library, totalling 150,000 volumes, as well as a public auditorium. The MNBA commissioned architect Mario Roberto Álvarez to design a branch in the patagonian region city of Neuquén. Inaugurated in 2004, this museum holds 4 exhibit halls totaling 2,500 square metres (26,910 sq ft) and a permanent collection of 215 works, as well as temporary exhibits and a public auditorium. The ground floor of the museum holds 24 exhibit halls housing a fine international collection of paintings from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century, together with the museum's art history library. The first floor's 8 exhibit halls contain a collection of paintings by some of the most important 20th-century Argentine painters, including Antonio Berni, Ernesto de la Cárcova, Benito Quinquela Martín, Eduardo Sívori, Alfredo Guttero, Raquel Forner, Xul Solar and Lino Enea Spilimbergo. The second floor's two halls, completed in 1984, hold an exhibition of photographs and two sculpture terraces, as well as most of the institution's administrative and technical departments.

La Presidenta destacó hoy que la inauguración de 18 nuevas salas del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes amplía 78% la capacidad para exhibir obras y "permite el acceso a la cultura de todos los sectores con entrada libre y gratuita". Anunció la restitución de 4.500 piezas arqueológicas a Perú y Ecuador.
Desde la Sala Antonio Berni, la presidenta Cristina Fernández de Kirchner destacó hoy que "los argentinos son propietarios de este museo que posee la colección de arte más importante de toda Latinoamérica", al inaugurar las obras de remodelación de 18 salas del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, en un acto transmitido en cadena nacional.
La ceremonia, que se llevó a cabo en la sede del Museo ubicado en la avenida del Libertador 1473, de esta Capital, tuvo lugar en la sala dedicada al maestro Antonio Berni. Su obra "La pesadilla de los injustos" es precisamente la que se pudo ver a espaldas de la mandataria durante el acto.
Las obras inauguradas abarcan la remodelación de 18 salas que conforman una superficie de 3.200 metros cuadrados, 16 en el primer piso y dos en el segundo del museo, todas dedicadas al arte argentino e internacional del siglo XX.
Señaló la jefa de Estado en su discurso por cadena nacional que "los argentinos tenemos un patrimonio cultural único, con mas de 13.000 obras", y que con la ampliación del museo podrán exponerse más de 1.000.
En tal sentido, subrayó que "en 12 años hemos engrandecido la infraestructura para que el arte argentino pueda ser exhibido", lo que hizo posible que "los argentinos sean propietarios de este museo que posee la colección de arte más importante de Latinoamérica".
Hizo hincapié en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes es el de mayor patrimonio artístico de nuestro país y uno de los principales de América Latina.
Puso asimismo de relieve que existe un proyecto para sacar de los depósitos obras que no pudieron ser exhibidas por falta de espacio y que ocupen un lugar en el Centro Cultural Néstor Kirchner, que dispone de metros para cobijarlas.
Destacó finalmente la importancia de que se sancione la ley que "reconoce la fotografía como arte mayor".
Durante el acto, la mandataria también procedió a restituir más de 4.000 piezas arqueológicas pertenecientes a Ecuador y Perú, a través de los respectivos embajadores de esos países.
"Es un honor y un placer estar restituyendo su patrimonio cultural a países como Ecuador y Perú, en un mundo que se ha caracterizado en arrebatar el patrimonio cultural a esos pueblos", dijo la jefa de Estado.
Sostuvo la jefa de Estado que "sería importante que se pueda cobrar una patente cultural, como hacen en los países centrales con las patentes medicinales, de semillas y otras, cuando no nos devuelven los tesoros culturales", y señaló que "de esa manera también viviríamos en un mundo mejor".
La restitución se divide en 4.000 piezas arqueológicas a Perú y otras 500 a Ecuador: se hallaban en casas particulares, locales y ferias de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, o ingresadas ilegalmente a nuestro país.
Estos objetos forman parte de un total de entre 15.000 y 20.000 restos arqueológicos, paleontológicos y paleobotánicos provenientes de América, Europa y Asia recuperados, entre los que hay piezas cerámicas que datan del año 3500 antes de Cristo. Las piezas se encontraban desde 2003 en custodia del Instituto Nacional de Antropología y Pensamiento Latinoamericano.
El Estado nacional cumple así lo dispuesto por la Ley 25743 de Protección de Patrimonio Arqueológico y Paleontológico, promulgada en 2003 por el presidente Néstor Kirchner, y concreta la entrega de estos bienes de inmenso valor histórico y científico a sus verdaderos propietarios.
De este modo, la Argentina se convierte en el primer país de Sudamérica en restituir patrimonios a otros Estados hermanos.
Participaron de la ceremonia el jefe de gabinete Aníbal Fernández; el secretario General de la Presidencia, Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro; la ministra de Cultura, Teresa Parodi; el canciller Héctor Timerman; y los ministros de Economía, Axel Kicillof, de Educación, Alberto Sileoni, y de Salud, Daniel Gollan.

Our trip to Chile wouldn't have been complete without a visit to the capital, so towards the end of our stay we decided to visit Santiago. We had 4 days to discover what the city was all about, so we set out to visit the main attractions, sample Chilean food (Comida Chilena), and explore various neighborhoods on foot. Santa Lucia is an urban park smack dab in the middle of Santiago and it’s a popular hangout in the afternoons and weekends. The hike is a pleasant one with lots to see, including fountains, spiralling staircases, defensive forts, sprawling gardens, and cool lookout points.
Lastarria is a neighbourhood located just east of Santa Lucia hill and it was once the bohemian hub of the city.Today it is very popular with tourists as it offers an outdoors flea market, an international mix of cafes and restaurants, & live music.
For panoramic views of the city, ride the funicular to the top of San Cristobal Hill.
Plaza de Armas is the heart of Santiago’s historic centre. There are lots of benches under the cover of palm trees, and the place is buzzing with activity. The Metropolitan Cathedral is located in the historic centre of Santiago overlooking the square. The construction you see today dates back to the year 1800, since previous cathedrals were destroyed in earthquakes.
Santiago’s Central Market is the place to come for the freshest food. You'll find rows of restaurants serving up everything from grilled fish to ceviche. We really like our ceviche, so we found a place serving exactly that.
Parque Forestal is a park that forms a long stretch of greenery along the Mapocho River. It’s a nice green escape in the middle of the city.
Palacio de la Moneda is the seat of the President of the Republic of Chile. This is where you can come to watch the changing of the guard. Just underneath Palacio de La Moneda, you’ll find Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda, which is a cultural centre featuring exhibitions, design shops, and a small selection of cafes.
Bellavista is a cultural hub with lots of theatres, cinemas, cafes, museums, and restaurants. The most famed home in the neighbourhood is La Chascona, the home of the famed Chilean poet Pablo Neruda.

Due to the small roads, driving is not generally advised, so it's better to just walk around town, rent a bike or take the bus.
Historic Italian architecture can be seen in several beautiful churches around town. One of the must-visit places is the Sorrento Cathedral and Belltower, a 15th century Romanesque church containing many paintings from the 18th century.

If you want to detox from social media and relax in an irie atmosphere there’s one place in Central America you have to visit. See it to Belize it is the hashtag everybody uses on Instagram and Discover how to BE seems to be their latest campaign
Belize is located next to Mexico and Guatemala and most travelers that visit, come from these neighboring countries just like I did. I stayed two nights in Belize city before travelling to Caye Caulker. Most people say Belize city is dangerous but I didn't experience it that way. But everything goes 'dead' once the shops close and it becomes dark. And because so little people are on the streets it can give you an uncomfortable feeling but nothing happened to me. The only reason I wouldn't recommend Belize city it's because I find it boring, there's nothing to see or do there.
But Caye Caulker is definitely a must and left me wanting more. I was told that Belize is like a mini Brazil as it offers the same highlights such as a rich nature, beaches, scuba diving and more more. But since Belize is small it's easier to explore all these highlights and in a much cheaper way.

Mexico City is a vivid metropolis and cosmopolitan city situated on a plateau in the central highlands at an altitude of 2, 286 metres, where the food is spicy and the Tequila flows freely! The city's fascinating history is reflected in both its art and architecture with age old charm, Indian roots and elegant buildings.
Until the Spanish conquest, the Templo Mayor was the setting of coronations and human sacrifice. The remains of the walls within which thousands of priests once lived are only a few steps from the buildings of the country's former Spanish conquerors.
Construction of the country's largest cathedral, the Catedral Metropolitana, took 250 years. The lower section is quite plain but the upper section is of Baroque and Neo-Classical design. Spanish administrative buildings and private houses in the heart of the city have replaced the temples of ancient Mexico and has resulted in a synthesis of both old and new architectural styles.
An elevator ascends the Torre Latino America, an earthquake-proof tower that was built in 1958. A viewing platform provides a wonderful panoramic view that includes the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Juárez Monument.
Located 50 kilometres from Mexico City are the ancient remains of Teotihuacan that was once a centre of trade, art and ritual ceremonies. At its zenith in 500 A.D., it was as large as Rome and its Sun Pyramid is one of the greatest building achievements of ancient times. In 1988 ,Unesco attributed this complex as being 'one of the most important cultural centres of mankind'.
The author Pablo Neruda once said: 'No other land on Earth possesses such remarkable human profoundness than Mexico and its inhabitants'. For surprises, sights and history galore, Mexico has to be at the top of the list!

Mañana miércoles 14 de septiembre, justo al mediodía, en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes - Santiago de Chile, se inaugura "Entre", ciclo de ejercicios de apropiación visual en el cual participaron estudiantes del Colegio Lorenzo Sazié, del Colegio Arzobispo Crescente Errázuriz, del Colegio Cardenal Raúl Silva Henríquez y del colegio Obispo Augusto Salinas, todos de Fundación Belén Educa. No pueden faltar. ¿De qué se trata el ejercicio? Los jóvenes tuvieron que resignificar libremente obras de la colección permanente del museo más importante de Chile, aplicando técnicas pictóricas. Juan Gabriel celebra 40 años en el Palacio de Bellas Artes
El artista mexicano lanza al mercado un nuevo disco para celebrar los 40 años que lleva subido en los escenarios, en los que se ha convertido en el gran divo de Latinoamérica. "Mis 40 en Bellas Artes" es el concierto grabado en vivo en este recinto cultural de la capital mexicana el 31 de agosto de 2013, acompañado de su amiga Isabel Pantoja, y los Coros y Orquesta Internacional de las Artes, y el mariachi de Mi Tierra.

Como una forma de generar un espacio de revisión, análisis y reflexión sobre el feminismo y la escritura historiográfica sobre arte en Chile y américa latina, el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, de la Dirección de Bibliotecas, Archivos y Museos (Dibam), llevó a cabo el 16 de agosto de 2012, el seminario "Historia del Arte y Feminismo: relatos, lecturas, escrituras y omisiones"
La actividad planteó el tema de la historia del arte en Chile desde un nuevo punto de vista que pone en escena la participación de las mujeres en el mundo del trabajo, la política, la acción colectiva, la creación artística, el feminismo y la literatura, confrontándolas a etapas y hechos importantes de nuestra historia política, social y cultural. Finalmente el MNBA buscó discutir el rol de las instituciones académicas y museales en la constitución de relatos de carácter histórico y el modo de vehicular discursos críticos a través de sus actividades.
En este video, puedes ver el saludo del Director del MNBA, Roberto Farriol y la Mesa Redonda moderada por :Manuel Durán, con las presentaciones "Historia del arte y feminismo: relatos, lecturas, escrituras, omisiones", de Soledad Novoa Donoso, curadora del MNBA; "Norma y el desacato: la sociedad chilena frente a la irrupción de las mujeres artistas (1840-1850)", de Emma de Ramón, Jefa del Archivo Nacional Histórico del Archivo Nacional.
El seminario
En el Seminario, se analizó la imagen de las mujeres en la historia del arte y las condiciones de producción de mujeres artistas en Chile y América Latina, considerando especialmente la obra de artistas pioneras en la práctica performática o el uso de medios audiovisuales. Además, se revisaron las estrategias de los feminismos contemporáneos y su relación con otras corrientes teóricas; la escritura historiográfica sobre arte, mujer y feminismo, sus carencias, logros y dificultades en el marco institucional y no-institucional.
Presentación
A partir de la segunda mitad del Siglo XX, el campo de la Historia del Arte ha sufrido importantes cambios gracias al trabajo sistemático realizado por historiadoras del arte que comenzaron a incidir en el campo académico utilizando como matriz de análisis discursivo, epistemológico y político de las distintas corrientes del pensamiento feminista generadas hasta ese momento.
Este movimiento se desarrolló principalmente en Estados Unidos y Europa, a partir de un texto fundante y esclarecedor escrito por Linda Nochlin en 1971: Why have there been no great women artists? Junto con establecer un modo de analizar críticamente la escritura historiográfica establecida hasta ese momento, la autora abrió nuevas posibilidades de análisis, preguntándose por las condiciones de producción a las que habían estado sometidas las mujeres artistas. Este texto sentó las bases de una revisión que comenzó a expandirse en el sistema académico.
En Chile el desarrollo de estas lecturas y escrituras no ha sido abundante, sobre todo si se compara con el campo de la literatura. Por este motivo, desde algunos años diversas exposiciones, textos e instancias de discusión han planteado la necesidad de examinar estas temáticas en el campo académico y museal, y de propiciar ejercicios de análisis crítico y cuestionamiento a las estructuras escriturales establecidas.
