Avenida 9 de Julio / 9th of July Avenue (2013) , Buenos Aires, Argentina (HD)
La Avenida 9 de Julio es una de las arterias principales de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, capital de la República Argentina. Es conocida por ser uno de los íconos arquitectónicos más fomosos del planeta, por emplazar en el cruce con la Avenida Corrientes al Obelisco y por ser la vía más ancha del mundo. En el cruce con la Avenida Corrientes se ubica la Plaza de la República donde se encuentra el famoso obelisco lugar en el que la bandera nacional fue izada por primera vez en Buenos Aires, en 1812. Dicha circunstancia se recuerda en una de las inscripciones del lado norte del Obelisco. Lleva su nombre en honor al día de la declaración de independencia del país, efectuada el 9 de julio de 1816. Su ancho es de 140 metros. Si bien la construcción de la Avenida 9 de Julio se aprobó en 1912, los trabajos recién se iniciaron el 20 de abril de 1936, aunque con el proyecto reformulado, ya que originalmente estaba concebida con características similares a la Avenida de Mayo, con solo 33 metros de ancho y edificios a los costados. En la década del ´30, la expansión metropolitana de Buenos Aires generó que fuera considerada una herramienta para el reordenamiento urbano y allí es cuando se convierte en una avenida-parque de dimensión regional. El primer tramo, de 500 m de extensión, se inauguró el 12 de octubre de 1937 entre las calles Bartolomé Mitre y Viamonte. La habilitación de los tramos subsiguientes se realizó por etapas, conforme avanzaban las demoliciones sobre la traza. El actual extremo sur se alcanzó en 1972 (intersección Avenida San Juan) y su extremo norte en 1979 (intersección calle Arroyo). Las expropiaciones y demoliciones continuaron y entre fines de los años 80 y mediados de los 90, la Avenida 9 de Julio finalmente alcanzó su objetivo original de convertirse en un eje vial metropolitano al ser vinculada en sus extremos norte (Autopista Arturo Illia) y sur (Autopista Arturo Frondizi) con la red de autopistas urbanas de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. En su intersección con la Avenida Corrientes se encuentra actualmente la Plaza de la República, donde está emplazado el Obelisco de Buenos Aires, monumento histórico de la ciudad. Con respecto al transporte público, bajo casi toda su traza corre la Línea C del subterráneo porteño y en julio de 2013 se inauguró el "Metro-bus 9 de Julio" entre Retiro y Constitución, por la que actualmente circulan 10 líneas de colectivo. La obra incluyó la construcción de paraderos elevados y carriles exclusivos, además del traslado de varios árboles ubicados en el cantero central de la Avenida.
July 9 Avenue, located in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is the widest avenue in the world. Its name honors Argentina's Independence Day, July 9, 1816. The avenue runs roughly 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the west of the Río de la Plata waterfront, from the Retiro district in the north to Constitución station in the south. The avenue has up to seven lanes in each direction and is flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. Through the centre of the avenue runs one of the city's Metrobus (Buenos Aires) (Bus rapid transit) corridors, which stretches 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) and was inaugurated in July 2013. There are two wide medians between the side streets and the main road. The northern end of the avenue is connected to the Arturo Illia expressway (which connects to Jorge Newbery airport and the Pan-American highway) and to Libertador avenue. The southern end is connected to the 25 de Mayo tollway (serving the west side of Greater Buenos Aires as well as Ezeiza airport) and the 9 de Julio elevated expressway which provides access to the two main southbound roads out of the city (route 1 to La Plata and route 2 to Mar del Plata).

9 de Julio Avenue — The widest street in the world is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The street 9 de Julio Avenue, which received its name in honor of the Independence Day of Argentina, July 9, 1816. July 9th Street is located in the capital, Buenos Aires. It covers an entire city block. Autonomous City of Buenos Aires avenue has up to seven lanes in each direction and is flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. There are two wide medians between the side streets and the main road. The total width of the street is 110 m. Such a huge road was created as a result of joining two quarters running parallel.
Avenue planned to build in 1888 with the name of Ayohuma, but these plans become a reality only in 1937. Construction of major facilities was completed in 1960. The southern connections were completed after 1980, when the downtown portion of the tollway system was completed. Line C of the Buenos Aires Metro runs for a stretch under the avenue. Line A, Line B, Line D, and Line E have stations when their course intersects the avenue. Notably, lines B, C, and D share a station underneath the Obelisk, which is the focal point of the subway system and features a retail concourse which also serves as an underpass. The respective station names are Carlos Pellegrini, Diagonal Norte, and 9 de Julio.
Crossing the avenue at street level often requires a few minutes, as all intersections have traffic lights. Under normal walking speed, it takes pedestrians normally two to three green lights to cross it. Some urban planners have submitted projects to move the central part of the avenue underground to alleviate the perceived "chasm" between the two sides of the avenue.

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and humanitarian. He is best known for his work with his E Street Band. Nicknamed "The Boss," Springsteen is widely known for his brand of poetic lyrics, Americana, working class and sometimes political sentiments centered on his native New Jersey, his distinctive voice and his lengthy and energetic stage performances, with concerts from the 1970s to the present decade running over three hours in length.

La Avenida 9 de Julio es una de las arterias principales de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, capital de la República Argentina. Es conocida por ser uno de los íconos arquitectónicos más fomosos del planeta, por emplazar en el cruce con la Avenida Corrientes al Obelisco y por ser la vía más ancha del mundo. En el cruce con la Avenida Corrientes se ubica la Plaza de la República donde se encuentra el famoso obelisco lugar en el que la bandera nacional fue izada por primera vez en Buenos Aires, en 1812. Dicha circunstancia se recuerda en una de las inscripciones del lado norte del Obelisco. Lleva su nombre en honor al día de la declaración de independencia del país, efectuada el 9 de julio de 1816. Su ancho es de 140 metros. Si bien la construcción de la Avenida 9 de Julio se aprobó en 1912, los trabajos recién se iniciaron el 20 de abril de 1936, aunque con el proyecto reformulado, ya que originalmente estaba concebida con características similares a la Avenida de Mayo, con solo 33 metros de ancho y edificios a los costados. En la década del ´30, la expansión metropolitana de Buenos Aires generó que fuera considerada una herramienta para el reordenamiento urbano y allí es cuando se convierte en una avenida-parque de dimensión regional. El primer tramo, de 500 m de extensión, se inauguró el 12 de octubre de 1937 entre las calles Bartolomé Mitre y Viamonte. La habilitación de los tramos subsiguientes se realizó por etapas, conforme avanzaban las demoliciones sobre la traza. El actual extremo sur se alcanzó en 1972 (intersección Avenida San Juan) y su extremo norte en 1979 (intersección calle Arroyo). Las expropiaciones y demoliciones continuaron y entre fines de los años 80 y mediados de los 90, la Avenida 9 de Julio finalmente alcanzó su objetivo original de convertirse en un eje vial metropolitano al ser vinculada en sus extremos norte (Autopista Arturo Illia) y sur (Autopista Arturo Frondizi) con la red de autopistas urbanas de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. En su intersección con la Avenida Corrientes se encuentra actualmente la Plaza de la República, donde está emplazado el Obelisco de Buenos Aires, monumento histórico de la ciudad. Con respecto al transporte público, bajo casi toda su traza corre la Línea C del subterráneo porteño y en julio de 2013 se inauguró el "Metro-bus 9 de Julio" entre Retiro y Constitución, por la que actualmente circulan 10 líneas de colectivo. La obra incluyó la construcción de paraderos elevados y carriles exclusivos, además del traslado de varios árboles ubicados en el cantero central de la Avenida.

Thousands of workers and all modern mechanical elements collaborate in the task of deleting this piece of the old town which is giving way to the new. Caen houses that not long ago were magnificent mansions. Cataclysm Man Made puts an absurd picture of catastrophe in the middle of a quiet town, still living your life every day. And on these broken bricks engineers and prepare a great avenue for the future between projects, none more fantastic than we see whereby the Avenida 9 de Julio would be a causeway across extension. Those mouths lead to parking lots. For below cross the Avenida de Mayo and diverse business would open. Anyway marches on the broad avenue that needs the big city.

Notably, lines B, C, and D share a station underneath the Obelisk, which is the focal point of the subway system and features a retail concourse which also serves as an underpass. The respective station names are Carlos Pellegrini, Diagonal Norte, and 9 de Julio.
Crossing the avenue at street level often requires a few minutes, as all intersections have traffic lights. Under normal walking speed, it takes pedestrians normally two to three green lights to cross it. Some urban planners have submitted projects to move the central part of the avenue underground to alleviate the perceived "chasm" between the two sides of the avenue.
