A cattle drive is the process of moving a herd of cattle from one place to another, usually moved and herded by cowboys on horses.
Australia is noted for long drives. Patsy Durack, for instance, left Queensland for the Kimberleys in Western Australia in 1885 with 8,000 cattle, arriving with only half that number some two years and two months later, completing a drive of some 3,000 miles. Indeed, long cattle drives continued well into the latter half of the twentieth century.

My name is Bako Stakes and those are my men on horses over there, we have four thousand head of cattle we have to drive to Abilene by nightfall. I was wondering if you two would mind if we drove our cattle through your living room and out your back door. It would save us a lot of time.
Well, if it will help.
Should we move the furniture?
No need, my men'll be careful. Okay boys, move 'em on through.
Stand out of the way, girls.
Girls, what's going on down there?
