Travel video about destination Arizona in the USA.
Arizona, land of cowboys and Indians and Wild West towns plus, among its many natural wonders, the all pervasive colour red as displayed by the awe-inspiring rock formations of its mighty canyons.A thousand years ago the highly-cultured Anasazi and Hohokam Indians lived here, planting maize and vegetables in the meagre valleys and building walled towns into the cliffs of the canyons. They used the natural environment, protected caves in natural rock walls, which were accessible only by simple wooden ladders. For the past century, scientists from all over the world have investigated evidence that a gigantic meteorite crashed here, leaving behind it a huge crater: Meteor Crater. As the central and inner walls of the crater are similar to the landscape of the moon, preparation and training for the APOLLO space missions took place here. Located in North West Arizona is the 378 square kilometre National Park known as the ‘Petrified Forest’ with a surrounding desert which shimmers in all the colours of the rainbow. There’s the Agate Bridge, a huge fossilised tree trunk which spans twelve metres wide across a gorge and the amazingly beautiful Canyon De Chelly. Situated in the Navajo Indian Reservation, the Betatakin Ruins are the remains of historical dwellings which were carved into the rock by their original inhabitants from the 13th Century B.C. Wild West fans instantly recognise Monument Valley where, between colossal, 300 metre tall monoliths and sky-high rocky needles, John Wayne and countless other screen heroes fought off Indians and battled with ‘baddies’. A natural sculpture formed from undulating waves of stone, Antelope Canyon is a palette of colour which teases the eye. From the surface, a gaping crevice is the only means of access, tempting the curious to enter. In bold contrast, the Grand Canyon is 1,600 metres deep and 16 kilometres long, the most colossal gorge in the world. The sight of this gigantic natural wonder is the exciting climax of any trip to the magnificent and majestic land of Arizona.

Enter the Valley of the Sun to embark on an unforgettable Phoenix adventure.
Begin your Phoenix tour in the morning, amid the coffee and teahouses nestled amongst the many galleries downtown. For those with an artistic bent, the Mesa Arts Center allows you to create your own pottery from start to finish. The nearby Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art provides an additional creative outlet; tour the many exhibits and displays, and then head into Scottsdale Quarter to do some quality shopping in its many boutiques.
Your Phoenix sightseeing must include Papago Park, located between Phoenix and Tempe. Explore the edible art at the Desert Botanical Garden, and take in the cacti and prairie animals in the Phoenix Zoo. Explore the edible art at the Desert Botanical Garden, and take in the cacti and prairie animals in the Phoenix Zoo. To truly appreciate the area’s desert beauty, plan a trip to Dobbins Point, where you can see all of Phoenix on one side and the natural landscape on the other.
Don’t forget to venture to the Grand Canyon for an eye-popping view of nature’s majesty.

In this travel video guide to Scottsdale, Arizona, I travel to Scottsdale, the so-called "Miami Beach" of Arizona. Located just to the east of Phoenix, Scottsdale is home to some of the city's best restaurants, bars, hotels and attractions.
I start of my travel in Scottsdale visiting downtown, otherwise known as "Old Town," the very walkable central part of the city full of small shops and a booming restaurant scene. It is also here that the city's roots can be traced back to the original farmers and settlers that called this otherwise barren part of the desert home back in the early 1900's.
I then head east into Tonto National Park to go kayaking down the Salt River with Arizona Outback Adventures (AOA), the area's premiere outdoor adventure company.
Next, I visit Taliesin West, the school/winter home of America's most famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Here I explore the unique structures and landscapes that make up Wright's real-world laboratory for he and his students' architectural ideas.
Then I head back into nature with AOA to go hiking in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, a 30,000-acre preserve located just minutes from the city, and a perfect place to explore the unique landscape of the desert -- even when the temperature exceeds 100 degrees.
Last, I head inside and give a tour of my sweet pad at the Hotel Valley Ho, probably one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed in. Harkening back to its Mid-Century roots, the hotel's unique architecture and swanky rooms makes it one of the premiere places to rest your head while staying in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale (O'odham: Vaṣai S-vaṣonĭ; Yaqui: Eskatel) is a city in the eastern part of Maricopa County, Arizona, adjacent to the Greater Phoenix Area. Named Scottsdale in 1894 after founder Winfield Scott and incorporated in 1951 with a population of 2000, the 2013 population of the city is estimated to be 226,918, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.[3] The New York Times described downtown Scottsdale as "a desert version of Miami's South Beach" and as having "plenty of late night partying and a buzzing hotel scene".[4] Its slogan is "The West's Most Western Town".[5]
Scottsdale, 31 miles long and 11.4 miles wide at its widest point, shares boundaries with many other municipalities and entities. On the west, Scottsdale is bordered by Phoenix, Paradise Valley, and unincorporated Maricopa County land. Carefree is also located along the western boundary, as well as sharing Scottsdale's northern boundary with the Tonto National Forest. To the south Scottsdale is bordered by Tempe. The southern boundary is also occupied by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, which also extends along the Eastern boundary, which also borders Fountain Hills, the McDowell Mountain Regional Park and more unincorporated Maricopa County land.[6].More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottsdale,_Arizona

https://www.expedia.com/Honolulu.d1488.Destination-Travel-Guides
Welcome to Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii. Stationed on the island of Oahu, Honolulu is ready to show you surf and sun like you’ve never seen before. Whether you’re here to live the life of a beach bum or want to explore the city’s lush tropical surroundings, you’ll find everything you’re looking for on your Honolulu tour.
Hawaii had a pretty explosive inception—Diamond Head Crater, also called Leahi, started life as an active volcano. Don’t worry; it’s since gone dormant, which means you can climb to the rim and take in a truly brilliant view of the coast. Head back down to the water and go paddleboarding or swimming; “Honolulu” means “sheltered bay,” and the beachfront here lives up to its name: It’s calm and sheltered year-round.
Honolulu sightseeing must include a day at Pearl Harbor. While there, you can wander the decks of the USS Missouri, explore the confines of the USS Bowfin, and observe a moment of silence at the USS Arizona Memorial.
Head downtown to take in some of Honolulu’s storied history. The statue of King Kamehameha stands guard over the city itself, and you can check out the American Florentine architecture of Iolani Palace. While you’re there, try a Japanese fusion dish or sample from the numerous other eateries lining the city. Stick around as evening falls and you’ll see hula dancers and a breathtaking sunset.

Julien's Roadrunner, Route 66, Holbrook Arizona
On my July 2015 road trip across Route 66, I was saddened to learn that Ted Julien, owner of Julien's Roadrunner had passed away in 2014. Whilst eating breakfast at Joe & Aggies, I asked Alice what happened to Julien's. Sadly, Ted has passed on and the store closed. Worse still, it is unlikely that the store will ever open again. Our first ever Horned Lizard was great because it was a very passive creature that let me pick him up and he never really tried to get away so I just handed him around the family for a few minutes so we could all get some holding time then sent him off into the bushes a few minutes later right as the mosquito hordes had zeroed in and I can tell you that they are vicious during monsoon season and you will be attack relentlessly by hundreds- thousands of them an hour so don't for get your bug spray and flame throwers.
These lizards live at elevations from 1000-11000 feet in some places and eat lots of ants as well as some Beetles, Grasshoppers and numerous other insects. The list of states they live in are as follows Arizona, Nevada, Texas, New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana as well as a small parts of a few other central states and stop just shy of the California border but you can find other species of Horned Lizards there in the desert and some other moderately dry areas with trees or brush.
Be sure to check out our other videos of us catching amphibians, Reptiles, Insects and Mammals when we travel all over the country to National Parks, State Parks, Forest, Deserts, jungles for some camping and anywhere else adventure takes us even to amusement parks to ride roller coasters and water slides or just having some fun doing anything really like swimming or rope swings and bridge jumps to the water. There is a lot more to come Thanks for watching.
We will be posting more adventures in the next few weeks From Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, California, Nevada and Possibly Oklahoma and Texas Florida. One of these days we will travel to Africa, Australia, South America, Europe and maybe more.
