Soul Provider is the sixth studio album by American recording artist Michael Bolton. The album was released on June 19, 1989 by Columbia Records. This was the album that turned Bolton into a superstar.
Supported by five top 40 hits (including three that reached the top 10), Soul Provider achieved longevity on the charts. The album spent almost four years on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #3. It was awarded 6x Platinum in the U.S. and sold over 12,500,000 copies worldwide.
For the single version of "Georgia on My Mind" CBS edited out Michael Brecker's saxophone solo and replaced it with one by Kenny G.
Soul Provider has received generally mixed reviews from critics. AllMusic described it as "more of the same", but noted that due to this album, Bolton "was now stoking the romantic fires in bedrooms across America".Robert Christgau gave the album a negative review, declaring Bolton to be "indistinguishable from pop metal except in the wattage of his guitar parts and the shamelessness of his song doctors." The Rolling Stone Album Guide described the album as the beginning of Bolton's descent into overdone and disrespectful covers, though they added that some of the self-penned performances on the album showed potential.
Provider may refer to:
"Provider" is a song by funk, rock and hip hop group N*E*R*D from their 2001 album In Search Of....
The song was the third and final single from the album. It managed to gain minor popularity in Europe, making the charts in the Netherlands and Sweden. In the UK, it was released as a double a-side with a re-release of "Lapdance," peaking at #20.
The video opens with two girls and a guy in a truck, the guy asking the two if they remember a guy named Shagg. Pharrell and Chad ride around with a bike gang interspersed with scenes of a young man (Brad Renfro) struggling to make ends meet and his pregnant girlfriend (Kelli Garner). She suggests he apply to the military, which he angrily rejects but reluctantly does. The video ends with Pharrell wearing cammo and holding a little girl displaying the peace sign with other children around him doing the same. Tony Hawk and Travis Barker make a cameo in a convenience store scene, while Pusha T of the Clipse appears as a drug dealer.
"Testify" is the eighteenth overall single from British band M People. It is the lead single from their greatest hits albums The Best of M People and, in North America, Testify. It was written by Mike Pickering, Paul Heard and Heather Small, and produced by M People. The single was released on 26 October 1998 and peaked at number twelve on the UK Singles Chart.
To support the release of this single, the band filmed their most expensively produced video on 10 September 1998 in London and was created with a budget of £750,000 and directed by New Zealand-born Gregory Rood who, had worked with Heather on the Perfect Day promotional video for the BBC and produced by William Oakely for 'Pop @ Paul Weiland', the Music Video division of the Paul Weiland Film Company.
Heather stands in the middle of a forest with snow on the ground singing all alone and all covered up in a Red Riding Hood-style cape only to then reveal as the wind blows, half way through the song, that she's wearing an eye-catching £250,000 diamond necklace and bodice in the middle of this (computer-generated) arctic wonderland with the snow falling and steam coming out of Heather's mouth as she sings. Meanwhile, in the surrounding blocks of ice, band mates Mike Pickering, Paul Heard and Shovell are all encased and motionless.
Testify is the sixth studio album by American recording group P.O.D.. It was originally set for a December 2005 release but finally slated for January 24, 2006 by Atlantic Records. This is P.O.D.'s first major-label album not produced by Howard Benson. The full album was leaked to file-sharing networks on January 20, 2006, just four days before its release. It was also their last album with Jason Truby on guitar, before he left the band in December 2006.
This album was also available in the Testify (Limited Edition) version with a bonus CD featuring commentary by the band on every song on the album, as well as four bonus songs and a remix that didn't make the album. The album's first single, "Goodbye for Now," went on to become the No. 1 music video on MTV's TRL and became P.O.D.'s unprecedented 4th No. 1 video. The song also enjoyed heavy play on the radio. Testify became the No. 1 selling Christian album on Billboard for several weeks and, as of May 2006, had been in the Top 25 for a total of 16 weeks. It opened at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 58,000 scans and has sold over 210,000 copies in the US and over 500,000 copies worldwide.
"Testify" (that Taraji P. Henson backup sang) is the fourth single from rapper Common's 2005 album Be. Clocking in at just above two and a half minutes, it is the second shortest track on Be (after the album's intro). It is produced by Kanye West, whose beat heavily utilizes vocal samples from "Innocent Til Proven Guilty" by Honey Cone. Spence D. of IGN.com comments on this saying: "'Testify' [...] features an intricate layering of vocals which provide such an hypnotic backdrop that you almost forget to listen to Common's compelling storytelling." The song's story is about a woman who manipulates a judge and jury to find her partner guilty of a crime SHE committed. After the case is settled, she starts laughing that she is the criminal. Sean Malcolm of AllHipHop.com considers Common to have "paint[ed] pictures of extravagant court trials" on "Testify." The song was a critical hit garnering a nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 48th Grammy Awards.
A remix featuring soul singer Darien Brockington and a different beat was recorded.
Soul is the sixth studio album released by American country rock & southern rock band The Kentucky Headhunters. It was released in 2003 on Audium Entertainment. No singles were released from the album, although one of the tracks, "Have You Ever Loved a Woman?", was first a single for Freddie King in 1960.
All songs written and composed by The Kentucky Headhunters except where noted.

Sometimes we're confronted with situations in life that are too big for us to handle. The finances are getting too difficult. The relationship is too damaged. The medical report is too scary. It's in those moments we have a choice to doubt and question the character of God, or choose to simply say... "I believe You're able. I believe You're good. I believe You're with me, even now...." And this choice perhaps may the most difficult of all choices. Therein illuminates the fiber of our faith, and begs the question: Will I continue to trust God in all situations, or just in the comfortable ones? Will I worship in the storm, or just when the waves are cool and calm? My deepest fear as always been that God is secretly malicious, conniving, mad, and out to trick me.... But that's why we wrote...

Talk about love, talk about trust
Talkin 'bout forever baby
When I'm talkin 'bout us
I give you my word, stick to my guns
Believe when I tell ya baby
That we've just begun
You don't understand, no
The full intent of my plan
Chorus:
I wanna be your soul provider
I wanna stay that way
For the longest time
I wanna be, your soul provider
Just say you'll let me
And darlin I will
I know you've been hurt, I know you're love shy
You don't have to say it baby
It's gonna take some time
Ya got my heart, in the palm of your hand
Swear it's gonna stay there baby
Give me half a chance
You don't understand
The full intent of my plan
I've been waitin for a long time for somebody like you
To give my love, all my love day and night
Just say you?ll be mine for the rest of your life
Baby I'll show you why
