WORLD BEER FESTIVAL: All About Beer Magazine's World Beer Festival will take place on Saturday at The Backyard at The Meadowlands. MAIFEST IN HOBOKEN AND ASBURY: Maifest is the German celebration of spring, and two of the premier biergartens in New Jersey, Hoboken's Pilsener Haus and it's sister bar, the Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten will be celebrating this weekend. The Festhalle will be throwing a three-day "Strasse Fest," beginning on Friday on Press Plaza (adjacent to the bar). There will be an open ceremony with a tapping of a Carton Brewing Maibock bier at 6 p.m. and then live polka music followed by a DJ dance party. Sunday brings the the highly anticipated "Bier Run": a three lap, 2.1 mile race that will require runners to drink three beers at various stations along the path. At the Hoboken location, there will be a special Maifest menu served up all weekend, an Austro-Hungarian brunch on Saturday (with polka music at night), and a special alt-country serenade brunch on Sunday. 10th ANNUAL WALK N' ROLL: The Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside will celebrate their 125th year of helping children and their families with their 10th annual Walk N' Roll event on Saturday. The event takes place at Johnson Park in Piscataway. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., with the run beginning at 10:15 a.m. From 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. there will be a free kid's carnival. SATURDAY DOUBLE FEATURE AT PARAMOUNT THEATRE: The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park will presenting "The Wizard of Oz" and "Purple Rain" as part of the Asbury Park Film Initiative's free movie series. The films were originally scheduled for the previous day, but due to the Louis C.K. shows they were moved. "The Wizard of Oz" will screen at 6:30 p.m., while "Purple Rain" will show at 9:30 p.m. Seating is first come, first serve. HOBOKEN IRISH FEST: So what if St. Patrick's Day was two months ago? Sinatra Park will get a little more green on Saturday with the Hoboken Irish Festival. The festival will feature live performances from Celtic bands like Gold N' Brown and A Band of Rogues, Colin Nisbet, and Clan Suibhe. There will Irish dancers, and the the Hoboken Hurling Club will be on hand to demonstrate their sport. There will also be an Irish soda bread contest, as well as the usual vendors, carnival games, and fun associated with the Irish. Free. Saturday, 12 - 6 p.m. Sinatra Park, Hoboken.

CAMP JAM IN THE PINES MUSIC FESTIVAL: One of the more underrated outdoor festivals in the state, particularly if you're into jazz, funk, and jam bands, is the annual Camp Jam. The festival will take place Thursday through Saturday and will feature some extremely cool local acts like Pepperwine, and Swift Technique. One of the major headliners of the festival is singer/songwriter Ryan Montbleau, performing on Saturday night. The festival will be taking place on a campground, so staying overnight is highly encouraged. $55-$130. Thursday 6 p.m. - "late night," Friday 3 p.m. - "late night," Saturday 2 p.m. - "late night." BURGER BASH IN ATLANTIC CITY: Who has the has best burger in Atlantic City? That question will be answered at The Deck at The Golden Nugget on Saturday at Burger Bash. The event will take place from 1 - 5 p.m. and feature the likes of Vagabond Kitchen and Tap House, The Dubliner, Wingcraft Kitchen & Beer Bar, The Iron Room, Cattle 'n Clover, Bills Bar & Burger and The Palm, among others -- all competing for the title of "Best Burger." There will be drink specials served at the bar throughout the event. $25. DOG DAYS OF SUMMER PARADE: Dog lovers and their four-legged friends are invited to Somers Point on Saturday for the town's Dogs Days of Summer Parade. The parade will feature dogs dressed up in costumes (though non-costumed dogs will not be discriminated against). Registration for the parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Dawes Avenue and the Bike Path. The parade will officially begin at 11 a.m., with the route taking dogs and their owners down the bike path towards Ocean Avenue. Free. Dawes Avenue, Somers Point.

Blake was born in Melbourne, Australia, to Win and Bill Blake on St. Patrick’s Day 1932 — “a very telling sign for a man who would go on to become a record-holding beer guzzler of gargantuan proportions,” Korhammer said in her eulogy. Blake launched his journalism career with his younger brother, Terry, with whom he started the satirical Sydney newspaper the Kings Cross Whisper in 1965....

A former Allentown man known for carrying a large white cross around the Lehigh Valley wants a trial in his two criminal cases. Patrick Cline is accused of surreptitiously recording a custody conference with his phone and posting it to his Facebook page. And in a second case he allegedly scuffled with county sheriff's deputies ... Cline was arrested by Allentown police in March, and brought to county jail on St. Patrick's Day ... ....
