Timothy Allen Dick (born June 13, 1953), known professionally as Tim Allen, is an American actor and comedian.
He is known for his role in the ABC television show Home Improvement (1991–1999) as well as for his starring roles in several popular films, including Disney's The Santa Clause trilogy, Disney/Pixar's Toy Story trilogy (as the voice of Buzz Lightyear), and Galaxy Quest (1999). He currently stars as Mike Baxter in the Last Man Standing TV series (2011–present).
Allen was born in Denver, Colorado. He is the son of Martha Katherine (née Fox), a community-service worker, and Gerald M. Dick (1923–1964), a real estate agent. He is the third oldest of five brothers. His father died in a car accident, colliding with a drunk driver, when Allen was 11. Two years later, his mother married her high school sweetheart, a successful business executive, and moved with her six children to Birmingham, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, to be with her new husband and his three children. Allen attended Seaholm High School in Birmingham, where he was in theater and music classes (resulting in his love of classical piano). He then attended Central Michigan University and transferred to Western Michigan University in 1974. At Western Michigan, Allen worked at the student radio station WIDR and received a Bachelor of Science degree in communications specializing in radio and television production in 1976 with a split minor in philosophy and design. In 1998, Western Michigan awarded Allen an honorary Fine Arts degree and the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Plot: Britney Allen is living the dream -- the cheerleader's dream. At the elite seaside campus of Pacific Vista High School, Britney is captain of the cheerleading squad and the envy of everyone at school -- including one overly-ambitious teammate. When Britney hears about a forthcoming audition for a top cheer squad to appear in recording star Rihanna's upcoming television special, she is determined that her Pirates cheer squad will capture the coveted spot. But Britney's life turns from cheer-topia to cheer-tastrophe when her father's job takes her family to Crenshaw Heights, a multi-ethnic working-class neighborhood east of Los Angeles. At her new school, Britney is viewed with suspicion by most of the students, especially by Camille, the overly confident and acerbic leader of the Crenshaw Heights Warriors cheerleading squad. No one is more surprised than Camille, however, when Britney proves herself and secures a spot on the Warriors' cheer squad. Britney and her new teammates work feverishly to prepare for the audition for Rihanna, incorporating some edgy new moves into their performance. Now the pressure is on, as the Warriors find themselves locked in a high-stakes cheer-off with Pacific Vista, Britney's old school! During the no-holds-barred fight to the finish, friendships, loyalties and talents are tested -- but only one team can come out on top.

Plot: John Allen was a prosperous ranchman, but was of the idea that his oldest son, Tim, was especially built for work and that John, Jr. his youngest son, was better adapted to play the part of a gentleman. John Jr. was not slow to take advantage of conditions, but little did he appreciate that he was playing the culprit and that his brother, although he had but few of the pleasures of life, was possessed, of a much nobler character. When John Jr., fell into evil ways and was in a fair way to spend a term at the workhouse it was Tim who spared his father from what would have been a bitter disappointment and paid his brother's penalty, and when his sentence had been expiated, he again bore the burden of responsibility for his brother's weakness, for which he was cast from his home by the unjust mandate of an irate father.
Genres: Drama, Short, Western,I forbid you maidens all that wear gold in your hair
To travel to Carter Hall for young Tam Lin is there
None that go by Carter Hall but they leave him a pledge
Either their mantles of green or else their maidenhead"
Janet tied her kirtle green a bit above her knee
And she's gone to Carter Hall as fast as go can she
She'd not pulled a double rose, a rose but only two
When up there came young Tam Lin says "Lady, pull no
more"
"And why come you to Carter Hall without command from
me?"
"I'll come and go", young Janet said, "and ask no leave
of thee"
Janet tied her kirtle green a bit above her knee
And she's gone to her father as fast as go can she
Well, up then spoke her father dear and he spoke meek
and mild
"Oh, and alas, Janet," he said, "I think you go with
child"
"Well, if that be so," Janet said, "myself shall bear
the blame
There's not a knight in all your hall shall get the
baby's name
For if my love were an earthly knight as he is an elfin
grey
I'd not change my own true love for any knight you
have"
Janet tied her kirtle green a bit above her knee
And she's gone to Carter Hall as fast as go can she
"Oh, tell to me, Tam Lin," she said, "why came you here
to dwell?"
"The Queen of Faeries caught me when from my horse I
fell
And at the end of seven years she pays a tithe to hell
I so fair and full of flesh and feared it be myself
But tonight is Hallowe'en and the faery folk ride
Those that would their true love win at Miles Cross
they must buy
So first let past the horses black and then let past
the brown
Quickly run to the white steed and pull the rider down
For I'll ride on the white steed, the nearest to the
town
For I was an earthly knight, they give me that renown
Oh, they will turn me in your arms to a newt or a snake
But hold me tight and fear not, I am your baby's father
And they will turn me in your arms into a lion bold
But hold me tight and fear not and you will love your
child
And they will turn me in your arms into a naked knight
But cloak me in your mantle and keep me out of sight"
In the middle of the night she heard the bridle ring
She heeded what he did say and young Tam Lin did win
Then up spoke the Faery Queen, an angry queen was she
Woe betide her ?ill-fought? face, an ill death may she
"Oh, had I known, Tam Lin," she said, "what this knight
I did see
