MTG $10 Budget Deck Tech: G/W Renown (NO Theros/M15!)
Here's a $10 Mtg
Deck that you can use well past rotation! GW
Renown uses so many
Magic Origins cards, and we've gotten a lot of requests to do non-Theros deck techs lately, so we decided to kill two birds with one stone.
In actuality, the total cost of this deck on TCGPlayer is just over $6
.50, so for the price of lunch, you can have a deck that's good for the next year! Here's the list:

The deck has all kinds of cool things it can do! Renown works so well with
Outlast creatures like Abzan Falconer because you can just drop Flaconer late game and give most of your team flying for the win! Kytheon's Irregulars helps not only itself, but your other creatures get Renown. Anafenza is a real all-star in this deck, making sure all of our dudes are of respectable size (and they'll get really big once they renown), and helps spread around counters for Falconer and Battle Priest.
Enshrouding Mist overperformed in testing. I was initially saddened at the loss of
Gods Willing (which is still a better card), but Enshrouding Mist impressed me quite a bit nonetheless. It can be especially good against red aggro decks, which will probably be more prominent considering red aggro just won Pro Tour Magic Origins!
Valeron Wardens ensures that we can keep going, and depending on when you drop it, she can usually be good for an extra 2-3 cards over the course of the game, which is more than worth it, especially if you can manage to get multiples out. It combos especially well with Rogue's Passage, too (as do all of you regular Renown dudes). And after it Renowns, it can safely block a
Siege Rhino! Not a small detail.
Center Soul has also impressed me, although I could understand playing Feat of
Resistance or perhaps even Might of the
Masses in this slot, but Center Soul helps us get 2
Dudes through for Renown on consecutive turns, and can save a creature one turn, then trigger renown the next!
All in all, this deck is about as much fun as you can have for $7!
