Gloria Frances Stewart, known as Gloria Stuart, (July 4, 1910 – September 26, 2010) was an American actress and visual artist. Stuart began her acting career in theater. In the 1930s and 1940s, she performed in little theater and summer stock in Los Angeles and New York City. She signed a contract with Universal Pictures in 1932, and acted in numerous films, including The Old Dark House (1932), The Invisible Man (1933), and The Three Musketeers (1939).
In 1945, Stuart abandoned her acting career and shifted to a career as an artist, working as a fine printer and making paintings, serigraphy, Bonsai, and découpage for the next five decades. She returned to acting in the late 1970s, appearing in several bit parts, including in Richard Benjamin's My Favorite Year (1982) and Wildcats (1986).
In 1997, she was cast as the 101-year-old elder Rose Dawson in James Cameron's Titanic, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Receiving her nomination at eighty-seven, she is the oldest person nominated for an Academy Award for acting. Her last film performance was in Wim Wenders' Land of Plenty (2004) before her death in 2010 at the age of 100.
Henry Travers (5 March 1874 – 18 October 1965) was an English film and stage character actor. His most famous role was the guardian angel Clarence Odbody in the 1946 film classic It's a Wonderful Life. He also received an Academy Award nomination for his supporting role in Mrs. Miniver. Travers specialized in portraying slightly bumbling but friendly and lovable old men.
Travers was born Travers John Heagerty in Prudhoe, Northumberland, and was the son of Daniel Heagerty, a doctor. Travers grew up in Berwick-upon-Tweed, and many biographies wrongly report him as being born there.
The Travers family lived in Prudhoe for a couple of years before moving from Woodburn, on the A68 road near Corsenside, Northumberland, in about 1866, to Tweedmouth, Berwick-upon-Tweed, in about 1876.
Initially, he trained as an architect at Berwick, before taking to the stage under the name Henry Travers.
Travers played character roles almost from the beginning of his acting career in 1894, often figures who were much older than himself. He made his Broadway debut in 1901, but returned to England. Travers again went to the United States in 1917 after a long and successful theatre career in his homeland. He played frequently from November 1917 until December 1938 on Broadway in over 30 plays. However, his last play on Broadway You Can't Take It with You was his most famous, where he acted in over 380 performances in two years. In the oscar-winning movie You Can't Take It With You, Lionel Barrymore played the role which Travers represented on Broadway.
William Harrigan (March 27, 1894 – February 1, 1966) was an American actor who played standard roles in Hollywood during the thirties and forties. He also originated the role of the captain in the Broadway hit Mister Roberts. Harrigan was the son of actor Edward Harrigan and the grandson of composer David Braham. Harrigan was also the brother-in-law of director/playwright Joshua Logan. Harrigan was born in New York, NY
The Invisible Man is an American 1933 Pre-Code science fiction horror film based on H. G. Wells' science fiction novel The Invisible Man, published in 1897, as adapted by R.C. Sherriff, Philip Wylie and Preston Sturges, whose work was considered unsatisfactory and who was taken off the project. Produced by Universal Studios, the film was directed by James Whale and stars Claude Rains, in his first American screen appearance, and Gloria Stuart. It spawned a number of sequels, plus many spinoffs using the idea of an "invisible man" that were largely unrelated to Wells' original story.
Rains portrayed the Invisible Man (Dr. Jack Griffin) mostly only as a disembodied voice. Rains is only shown clearly for a brief time at the end of the film, spending most of his on-screen time covered by bandages. In 2008 The Invisible Man was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
William Claude Rains (10 November 1889 – 30 May 1967) was an English actor of stage and screen whose career spanned 46 years. After his American film debut with The Invisible Man (1933) he played in classic films like The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), The Wolf Man (1941), Casablanca (1942; as Captain Renault), Notorious (1946), and Lawrence of Arabia (1962). He was a four-time nominee for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award, but never won. Rains was considered to be "one of the screen's great character stars" with an extraordinary voice who was, according to the All-Movie Guide, "at his best when playing cultured villains".
Rains was born in Camberwell, London. According to his daughter, he grew up with "a very serious Cockney accent and a speech impediment". His parents were Emily Eliza (née Cox) and the actor Frederick William Rains. Rains made his stage debut at the age of 11 in the play Nell of Old Drury.
His acting talents were recognised by Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree, the founder of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Tree paid for the elocution lessons that Rains needed to succeed as an actor. Later, Rains taught at RADA, where his students included John Gielgud and Laurence Olivier. Many years later, after Rains had gone to Hollywood and become a well-known film actor, Gielgud commented: "He was a great influence on me. I don't know what happened to him. I think he failed and went to America."

Classical Hollywood cinema or the classical Hollywood narrative, are terms used in film history which designate both a visual and sound style for making motion pictures and a mode of production used in the American film industry between 1917 and 1960. This period is often referred to as the "Golden Age of Hollywood." An identifiable cinematic form emerged during this period called classical Hollywood style. Classical style is fundamentally built on the principle of continuity editing or "invisible" style. That is, the camera and the sound recording should never call attention to themselves (as they might in films from earlier periods, other countries or in a modernist or postmodernist work). Throughout the early 1930s, risque films and salacious advertising, became widespread in the shor...

If I stopped combing my hair,
If I stopped shaving my face.
Would you notice or care, or would it just be a waste.
If I stop changing my clothes,
If I stop watching my weight.
How far do I have to go, just what do I gotta say?
I'm the invisible man,
Everybody shakes my hand but you.
I'm the invisible man,
And the only body I want is you.
I walk in slowly with grace,
I hit a couple home runs.
I stand right up in your face,
Still I don't block out the sun.
So I go out on a limb,
I get true blue and sincere.
But I don't show up on film,
And I can't be seen in a mirror.
Some would sneak in ladies' locker rooms,
Or armoured trucks chock-full of jewels.
But I keep my hands where you can see them,
Any fool can see them.
Why can't you see them?
I know when I'm beat, and I know when to stay down.
With floppy shoes on my feet, and a big happy frown.
And I'm the invisible man.
Try and catch me if you can.
I'm the invisible man.
I'm right behind you (here I am) my friend.
I'm the invisible man.
Everybody shakes my hand but you,
