Ginza (銀座) is a district of Chūō, Tokyo, located south of Yaesu and Kyōbashi, west of Tsukiji, east of Yūrakuchō and Uchisaiwaichō, and north of Shinbashi.
It is a popular upscale shopping area of Tokyo, with numerous internationally renowned department stores, boutiques, restaurants and coffeehouses located in its vicinity. Ginza is recognized by many as one of the most luxurious shopping districts in the world, attracting visitors and regulars alike from across the globe.
Ginza was built upon a former swamp that was filled in during the 16th century. The name Ginza comes after the establishment of a silver-coin mint established there in 1612, during the Edo period.
After a devastating fire in 1872 burnt down most of the area, the Meiji government designated the Ginza area as a "model of modernization." The government planned the construction of fireproof brick buildings and larger, better streets connecting Shimbashi Station all the way to the foreign concession in Tsukiji.
Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō, "Eastern Capital") (Japanese: [toːkjoː], English /ˈtoʊki.oʊ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都, Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, and is both the capital and largest city of Japan. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府, Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市, Tōkyō-shi).

Japan (i/dʒəˈpæn/; Japanese: 日本 Nippon [nip̚põ̞ɴ] or Nihon [nihõ̞ɴ]; formally 日本国 Nippon-koku or Nihon-koku, "State of Japan") is an island country in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, China, North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The kanji that make up Japan's name mean "sun origin", and Japan is often called the "Land of the Rising Sun".
Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 6,852 islands. The four largest are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, which make up about ninety-seven percent of Japan's land area. Japan's population of 126 million is the world's tenth largest. Approximately 9.1 million people live in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, which is the sixth largest city proper in the OECD. The Greater Tokyo Area, which includes Tokyo and several surrounding prefectures, is the world's largest metropolitan area with over 35 million residents and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy.
"Thank you" is a common expression of gratitude. It often refers to a thank you letter, a letter written to express appreciation.
Thank You or Thank U may also refer to:
High Street (or the High Street, also High Road) is a metonym for the concept (and frequently the street name) of the primary business street of towns or cities, especially in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth of Nations. To distinguish it from "centres" of nearby places it is frequently preceded unofficially by the name of its settlement. In a town it implies the focal point for business, especially shops and street stalls (if any) in town and city centres. As a generic shorthand presupposed upon linear settlements it may be used to denote more precise concepts such as the urban retail sector, town centre sectors of employment, all small shops and services outlets and even wider concepts taking in social concepts. The smallest High Street in Britain is located in a small market town in Devon called Holsworthy. The street itself is no more than 100 yards long and there are only three shops located on Holsworthy's High Street.
High Street is the most common street name in the UK, which according to a 2009 statistical compilation has 5,410 High Streets, 3,811 Station Roads and 2,702 Main Streets.

HELLO TOKYO! It's great to be back! I'm feeling pumped and excited to take on this new adventure :D Here with my mom for 5 days full days! The plan is to work during the mornings until noon, and head out for the afternoon. So it's gonna be a jam packed day errrday! AirBnB: I looked an apartment space just 10 min walk away from Shibuya station. I found it to be super convenient to get to the major stations with no/ little transferring. Highly recommend going with the AirBnB option to get the somewhat authentic feel of what it's like to live in Tokyo. Getting around: Since we arrived in the Haneda airport at 2am, metro/train services weren't available. The only option for us was to take a taxi, which was superrr expensive! But I'd definitely recommend taking the trains or the buses when t...

Several centuries before Ginza became synonymous with luxury, it was actually a swamp. It was only after a major fire in 1872 that burnt down most of the area that the Meiji government decided to rebuild it into a model of modernization! It was only after 1923 that Ginza became an upmarket shopping district, popular amongst people living outside of Tokyo. To be fair, Ginza is far from being the fanciest place in Tokyo and it may disappoint if you were to compare it to the Champs-Élysées in Paris or 5th Avenue in New York. Still if you happen to visit Tokyo from April to September you will be glad to know that Ginza’s major road is closed to cars on weekends in order to become one of Tokyo’s largest pedestrian zones. ► Here's a look at the street life in Ginza, Tokyo's upscale shopping area, loaded with department stores, restaurants & cafés. Ginza is recognized as one of the most luxurious shopping districts in the world, and every self respecting fashion-house has a flagship store located there. My personal favorite places of this area are the Sony Showroom Bldg., Matsuya dept. store and Yabaton - the best misokatsu restaurant in town. A visit to Tokyo is incomplete without a visit to Ginza, even if the budget only allows for window-shopping and relaxing over a cup of matcha, while trying to spot some of the backdrops of the "Lost in translation"-movie. Easy access to Ginza from ...... just about anywhere in Tokyo. - Enjoy!

Ginza is the epitome of luxe for Japanese and tourist alike. While many like to compare Ginza to the Champs-Élysées (France), Ginza is in many ways different from its French counterpart. With new and luxurious buildings popping-up from the ground every single year, Ginza has many things to offer regardless of your personal wealth. But, if you are on a tight budget, why not visiting this iconic Japanese district on a Sunday when its major road is close to any cars and fully open to the public.
Every Sunday the main shopping street in Ginza is closed to vehicle traffic from 12-5pm to allow for pedestrians to roam in the middle of the street and shop without the noise of automobiles passing by.

Ginza Flagship Stores UNIQLO UNIQLO Undercover F & M Apple Menneken Belgian Waffle House Sony Hokōsha Tengoku ------------------------------------------- Nothing in Tokyo says "upscale shopping" and "flagship stores" than the GINZA area of TOKYO. Right up there with New York's 5th Avenue and London's Oxford Street it has the highest concentration of western shops in Japan not to mention the major Japanese brands. Watch me, as I "stumble upon" the famous INIQLO brand in what appears to the introduction of their UNIQLO Undercover line. Share my disappointment in the SONY world headquarters. Since I am not a big shopper, the biggest thrill was the Hokōsha Tengoku

Japan travel guide video for Ginza High Street 銀座, Tokyo. Ginza High Street 銀座 on a Sunday is one of the coolest places in Tokyo. On Sunday in Ginza the high street is completely closed to traffic and the street becomes completely packed with Japan tourists and locals who want to shop, take in the sights or just hang out. It is completely surreal and if you travel to Japan you absolutely must check this place out. Remember the Ginza high streets are closed on the Sunday. There are also a few amazing restaurants in Ginza especially for sushi and Tempura. Also the amazing Yurakucho and Hibiya cities are right around the corner. I hope this Japan Travel Guide video can show you just how cool the Ginza High Street 銀座 really is. (英語の字幕) TOKYO TRAVEL | GINZA HIGH STREET | JAPAN GUIDE |VIDEO| 銀...

- Enjoy!

Brand New Shopping Mall in Ginza called the Ginza Six is just opened on April 20th, 2017. Combining art, culture and nature as its major motif, this mall is certainly going to become one of the most popular hangout places in Tokyo.

My wife and I had just landed in Tokyo, and we really had no plans for where to eat lunch, so we took a walk outside our hotel, and we found this place just by chance. It turned out to be an excellent little basement restaurant, and although it’s known to be a Japanese sake bar, they also have some amazing lunch specials, which I thought were a very good deal for Tokyo.
Ginza turns into a pedestrian walking area on the weekends on Chuo Dori but it's not just the Main Street that is awesome. The side streets have a lot of surprises including Satellite shops for every major fashion brand and Japanese prefectural shops where you can get fresh food from all over the country.

First of all: Thank you very much for 555 subscribers! :) The Ginza Line is the oldest subway line in Tokyo and in Asia - known as "the first underground railway in the Orient". It extends from Shibuya to Asakusa in Taitō and connects many major residential, commercial, and business districts like Omotesandō, Ginza or Ueno. The section between Asakusa and Ueno was completed on December 30, 1927 and opened by Tokyo Underground Railway (Tōkyō Chika Tetsudō / 東京地下鉄道). Until 1934 the line was extended to Shimbashi. Another subway company - the Tōkyō Rapid Railway (Tōkyō Kōsoku Tetsudō / 東京高速鉄道) - opened the section from Shibuya to Toranomon in 1938. Both subway lines were connected in 1939 at Shimbashi. Both companies merged as the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (TRTA). After the economic ...
The Incredible Sony Building - Ginza Tokyo, The History of Sony Exhibition ( Full Walkthrough ) Showcasing a huge selection of Sony products right from the foundation of the company in 1946 to present day. Sony Corp says its historic landmark Sony Building in Tokyo’s posh shopping district Ginza will be torn down at the end of March 2017. Following the demolition, the site will be used as park space for music and sports events between 2018 and 2020, ahead of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The company further revealed that it will begin constructing a new building after the fall of 2020, with plans for completion in 2022. The famous building, which stands at a strategic location in the district, overseeing the Sukiyabashi crossing, opened in 1966 under the direction of Sony...
Follow us as we tour around Tokyo on our first night in this amazing city. We only landed in the early evening and only had time to eat and visit a few places. The second day we visited a Japanese tea house and witnessed a tea ceremony. After that we popped by to Ropponggi for lunch and Akhihabara for dinner. Stay tuned for the Japanese Hotel tour. To be continued......
Conestoga
I have wandered through the hills of better days
Broken my own heart with my cheatin ways
So Ill try to make amends I will rectify
All the time I spent more dead than alive
Darlin hitch up the Conestoga
Ride my gently to & fro
I have searched many a lifetime
All for what I do not know
All for what I know
Give me freedom like the flight of a ravens wing
Lie down with the sun, rise and start to sing
Lonesome doves will always find their way back home
But theres seed to feed anywhere we roam
I will take the reins when you need to sleep
I will soothe your pain if your back grows weat
But first these words you must speak
I am ready to go, Im ready to go
Darlin pack up the Conestoga
Ride my gently sweet and low
I have searched many a lifetime
All for what I do not know
All for what I know
