Cabin fever is an idiomatic term for a claustrophobic reaction that takes place when a person or group is isolated or shut in a small space with nothing to do for an extended period. Cabin fever describes the extreme irritability and restlessness a person may feel in these situations.
A person may experience cabin fever in a situation such as being in a simple country vacation cottage. When experiencing cabin fever, a person may tend to sleep, to have a distrust of anyone they are with or to have an urge to go outside even in the rain, snow, dark or hail. The phrase is also used humorously to indicate simple boredom from being home alone.
One therapy for cabin fever may be as simple as getting out and interacting with nature. Research has demonstrated that even brief interactions with nature can promote improved cognitive functioning and overall well-being.
Cabin fever is restlessness from being in a confined area.

Fever, also known as pyrexia and febrile response, is defined as having a temperature above the normal range due to an increase in the body's temperature set-point. There is not a single agreed-upon upper limit for normal temperature with sources using values between 37.5 and 38.3 °C (99.5 and 100.9 °F). The increase in set-point triggers increased muscle contraction and causes a feeling of cold. This results in greater heat production and efforts to conserve heat. When the set-point temperature returns to normal a person feels hot, becomes flushed, and may begin to sweat. Rarely a fever may trigger a febrile seizure. This is more common in young children. Fevers do not typically go higher than 41 to 42 °C (105.8 to 107.6 °F).
A fever can be caused by many medical conditions ranging from the not serious to potentially serious. This includes viral, bacterial and parasitic infections such as the common cold, urinary tract infections, meningitis, malaria and appendicitis among others. Non-infectious causes include vasculitis, deep vein thrombosis, side effects of medication, and cancer among others. It differs from hyperthermia, in that hyperthermia is an increase in body temperature over the temperature set-point, due to either too much heat production or not enough heat loss.

Some of the exhibits on display at the Cabin Fever model engineering Expo, April 13, 2004. I was only there for a few hours on Sunday morning, and I heard that quite a few exhibitors left on Saturday, but these are the things I found interesting... If anyone has info about who built the items, please let me now so I can update the description

Scale models of V8, hit and miss, steam, motorcycle, boat, and other engines at Cabin Fever in York, PA this past weekend.
This video has only steam related engines.
Its hard to see but there are two smoker units and the turret rotates.

In this video we take a trip down to York, PA for the Cabin Fever Expo 2014 auctions / hobby machine expo / model engine show. Today, we look at the consignment area, take a tour of the silent auctions being conducted, check out some vendors and video some of the expo model engines and other display pieces. We even check in with a blacksmithess as she works on her second knife. Tom and Adam, there is a four jaw in here for you that seems just the right size. This weekend I found myself at The Rochdale Society of Model & Experimental Engineers 80th Anniversary on the August Bank Holiday Weekend, and what a gem it turned out to be. The RSMEE are located in Springfield Park in Rochdale. This was my first visit to the RSMEE and I must say I was very impressed. The elevated track caters for 3.5, 5 and 7.25 Gauge Locomotives. A variety of Locos were operating and a large number of visitors took the opportunity to take a ride behind these beautiful machines. Many thanks to everyone at the Society for making me feel very welcome. I hope to see you all very soon. To everyone on the trains that waved to me, thank you very much, it was good to see you all having fun and it really adds to the overall atmosphere of the video, sorry I could not wa...

One is the film' heroine who loves wearing bikinis. The other, an evil doctor who can't keep her lab coat closed. In the end, they will have the gooiest girl fight ever. Meet summer scream queens (and BFFs) Jillian Murray and Lydia Hearst. Shot in Los Angeles, June 2014
Autumn's coming in through the yard,
Marching like a grandfather clock
The badges he wears are tattered and old
Like shredded ribbons of bright read and gold
His arms are stiff and they're sure they're in time
'Cause you can't slow a man with a pendulum down
No, you can't slow a man with a pendulum down
In autumn it's hard to keep the mood light
The puddles get deep and my umbrella was swiped
You'll find him in the strangest of places
Jangling a coffee cup outside store twenty-four
But he's not a beggar 'till the cold settles in
And he swears there's an Indian summer in him
Oh, he swears there's an Indian summer in him
Drink from this flask to put warmth in your chest and sing around my piano
I'm settling in for the long winter months with all of the friends I can handle
And we'll toast this death of summer months
And summer warmth
And summer love
If your heart starts feeling slow, there's a refrain I know and I'll teach you, it goes
"when we've come down with cabin fever,
And everyone's wearing sweaters
And talking about leaving, we'll know it's time."
Pack the car
Head out to Vermont
I'm trading Boston concrete for foliage
It always feels like I'm on my way out
Chasing seasons down but they never do budge
Oh, as soon as you're used to one season it moves
And that's all that you can count on
That's all that you can count on
When we've come down with cabin fever
And everyone's wearing sweaters
