HIGHEST BIDDER SALE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS HOW THE HIGHEST BIDDER SALE WORKS: After inspecting the home, please leave your name, phone number, email address and bid on the Initial Bidding Sheet. There is no deposit required to bid. You may bid ANY AMOUNT DOWN TO $1 IN THE INITIAL BIDDING, JUST GET YOUR NAME ON THE SHEET! We will take new bids until 4:00 PM Sunday night. You may call the phone number provided to you at the inspection to see what the highest bid is and to increase your previous bid at any time until 4:00 PM Sunday night. HOW THE BIDDING IS CONDUCTED: Starting at 7:00 PM Sunday, we will start the round bobbin bidding by calling everyone back that has left a bid prior to 4:00 PM Sunday. The highest bidder will receive the first call to let them know that they are in fact the highest bidder and if they would like to increase their bid. Everyone else that has left a bid, starting with the next highest bidder, will be asked if they would like to increase their previous bid at that time. Any bidder may top the high bid in increments of $500. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE CALL YOU IN THE ROUND ROBIN BIDDING ON SUNDAY NIGHT: Each time you receive a call you can either a) raise the high bid by $500 or more in multiples of $500 or b) you may retire from the bidding or c) if the high bid is higher than you wish to bid, you may submit a final “highest and best bid” should the high bidder fail to sign the purchase agreement and provide the $1,500 earnest money in certified funds. WHAT IF THE HIGH BIDDER DEFAULTS: At the conclusion of the bidding the highest bidder is notified. The second and third highest bidders are notified to be on standby in case the highest bidder defaults.
