Ram Narayan
Ram Narayan (Hindi: राम नारायण; IAST: Rām Nārāyaṇ, IPA: [ˈraːm naːˈraːjn]; born 25 December 1927), often referred to with the title Pandit, is an Indian musician who popularised the bowed instrument sarangi as a solo concert instrument in Hindustani classical music and became the first internationally successful sarangi player.
Narayan was born near Udaipur and learned to play the sarangi at an early age. He studied under sarangi players and singers and, as a teenager, worked as a music teacher and traveling musician. All India Radio, Lahore, hired Narayan as an accompanist for vocalists in 1944. He moved to Delhi following the partition of India in 1947, but wishing to go beyond accompaniment and frustrated with his supporting role, Narayan moved to Mumbai in 1949 to work in Indian cinema.
After an unsuccessful attempt in 1954, Narayan became a concert solo artist in 1956, and later gave up accompaniment. He recorded solo albums and began to tour America and Europe in the 1960s. Narayan taught Indian and foreign students and performed, frequently outside India, into the 2000s. He was awarded India's second highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan, in 2005.

Then war breaks out between India and Pakistan and their group is asked to travel to Kargil and guard a bridge. This is where Tarun will face his biggest challenge - a challenge that will make him a true soldier or lead him to his death.

Plot: Laxman has always been the black sheep of the family, and is regarded by them as a no-good slacker. His brother, Ram Narayan, who works in jewellery store, asks him to deliver some money to a businessman out of town, but Laxman instead gets an expensive necklace for a girl named Seema, he just met, just to impress her. Laxman's friend, Rita, finds out that her jewellery is fake, and accuses Ram. Ram assures everyone that he will settle this matter with Rita. The next day Rita is murdered, and Ram is arrested, and imprisoned. Everyone has given up hope for Ram's release, except for Laxman, who has now decided to go straight, and get his dad out of this mess, not knowing that he, himself, is jeopardizing his very own life, and that of Sita and nephew as well.

A very rare and special concert by one of the greatest vocalists of the century, Pandit Kumar Gandharva. This short excerpt brilliantly showcases his creative genius, fine tunefulness and powerful approach. What makes this concert rare and precious is the accompaniment by the two illustrious musicians. Amazing to see Pandit Vasantrao Despande the renowned vocalist known for his extraordinarily dexterous voice successfully playing the role of a tabla player! The sarangi accompaniment is by the legendary Pandit Ram Narayan. It is astounding how he has followed Kumarji replicating every note, nuance and expression of the vocalist. Never before and never again can this difficult style of Kumarji be ever followed as brilliantly on sarangi.
The compere was none other than the giant of Marathi literature and a great connoisseur of music, Mr. P.L.Deshpande. In his short introduction (in Marathi language) given between the two ragas - (At 11.19 minutes)

Mohammed Dilshad Khan - rare recording, Vasanta-Bhairavi (CM, HM Equivalent), Ustad Faiyyaz Khan on Tabla. In Part II Ramanarayan Ji plays Bhairavi. Mohammed Dilshad Khan was born Arabindo Dasgupta and is the younger brother of Sarod Maestro Buddhadev Dasgupta. After Arabindo married Begum Parveen Sultana, the legendary singer of the famous Patiala Gharana of which Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was a renowned doyen, Arabindo became Dilshad Khan or even before, I am not sure of this. But, what I found through this rare recording of his is an amazing depth in his voice and music, as well as an aesthetic element that is hardly present in modern day singers. Mohammed Dilshad Khan - rare recording, Vasanta-Bhairavi (CM, HM Equivalent), Ustad Faiyyaz Khan on Tabla. In Part II Ramanarayan Ji plays Bhairavi.
Mohammed Dilshad Khan was born Arabindo Dasgupta and is the younger brother of Sarod Maestro Buddhadev Dasgupta. After Arabindo married Begum Parveen Sultana, the legendary singer of the famous Patiala Gharana of which Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was a renowned doyen, Arabindo became Dilshad Khan or even before, I am not sure of this. But, what I found through this rare recording of his is an amazing depth in his voice and music, as well as an aesthetic element that is hardly present in modern day singers. There could be some exceptions. But, listeners should make their own judgment about anyone's abilities to sing. And I give him (Arabindo AKA Mohammed Dilshad Khan) a full 10 out of 10. He has chosen a Raga, which might not be an exact replica of the Carnatic Music Raga -- VASANTA BHAIRAVI, but it is not very far either. A morning melody. Mohammed Dilshad Khan was first inspired by Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, and I am to understand he couldn't learn from the great master for one reason or the other. Later he learned from several great teachers including the Agra and Jaipur Gharana specialist, Ustad Fayyaz Khan Saheb. Although, I am not sure who has accompanied him on the Harmonium, which I will try to find out, Dilshad Khan gets an outstanding TABLA support from the other master, Ustad Fayyaz Khan, as well, but the Tabla Maestro. Part two of this recording has a wonderful BHAIRAVI on the SAARANGI by PANDIT RAMANARAYAN JI. (DISCLAIMER: No copyright violation or infringement is intended.
