Kiss It (Dev song)

"Kiss It" is a song performed by American recording artist Dev with the collaboration of rapper Sage the Gemini, produced by Hit-Boy. It was written by Dev as single in anticipation of her EP Bittersweet July. The song was released on December 12, 2013, after posting a preview of the single on Facebook. "Kiss It" is a hip hop, swag song with synth influences that speaks about uncaring attitude.

Afterwards, hits "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX and "L.A. Love (La La)" by Fergie have been compared to "Kiss It".

Critical reception

The song received generally positive reviews from the critics. Billboard rated the song three stars and half out of five saying that "the singer indulges in sass and sarcasm on the track, which is highlighted by a buoyant verse from new labelmate Sage the Gemini, who sounds surprisingly comfortable assisting on a pop track". Idolator.com also praised the song saying that "the snappy hip-hop/pop tune appears basically a raised middle finger at her haters with a very catchy result, unluckily ruined by a maladjusted slow rap by featuring artist Sage the Gemini".

Devin Star Tailes (born July 2, 1989), better known as Dev (sometimes stylized as DEV or dEV), is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, model and radio host. She was discovered by the record label, Indie-Pop, and The Cataracs via Myspace after her friend Shane Crislip, posted her singing to some beats. Dev's song "Booty Bounce" was sampled in Far East Movement's hit single "Like a G6" which reached number 1 in the US, and sold over four million downloads in the country.

Dev was signed to Universal Republic in October 2010, and released her debut single "Bass Down Low" in November 16, 2010. She was scheduled to release her debut album The Night the Sun Came Up on September 5, 2011. The album was pushed back and was released in the United States on March 27, 2012. The second single, "In the Dark", peaked at number 11 in the US chart, making it her most successful solo single to date. Dev in 2014 released two EPs, Bittersweet July and the second part as a follow up to part one. She's a radio host of the popular radio Beats 1 by Apple, founded in 2015.

Kiss (Korn song)

"Kiss" is a power ballad written and recorded by American nu metal band Korn, and produced by The Matrix and Atticus Ross for their untitled eighth studio album. It was released as the album's third and final single on April 7, 2008.

Music and structure

"Kiss" features Terry Bozzio on drums, who had provided for eight of the album's songs. Jonathan Davis also provided additional percussion for the song, along with "Hushabye". The song makes use of keyboards by Zac Baird, heavy drum patterns and violins. Allmusic described "Kiss" as "like [a] vaguely Beatlesque Mellotron," implying its difference from the rest of the album.

Chart performance

The song failed to chart worldwide due to its limited release in the United States.

Kiss It Better

"Kiss It Better" is a single from Deborah Harry's third solo album, Def, Dumb & Blonde in 1989. The single peaked at number 12 on the US Modern Rock chart, riding the wave of success built by Harry's previous single, "I Want That Man". Though never released commercially, a promo found its way to many college radio stations, hence the song charting so much lower than the previous one. The single was also not released in the UK.

"Sweet and Low"/"Kiss It Better" was released as a double A-side single in Australia in 1990.
