Londontowne is an unincorporated area and former census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The population was 7,595 at the 2000 census. At the 2010 census, the area was delineated as the Edgewater CDP.
London Town was a colonial seaport town founded in 1683 near Annapolis. It was once considered as the site for the capital of Maryland, a state of the United States of America. It was as prominent a city in trade as Annapolis and Williamsburg, Virginia. A series of events, including its non-selection as a tobacco inspection station, economic depression, and the Revolutionary War caused it to decline and, by the 19th century, disappear.
Speculation exists that the South River Club's first clubhouse was built here.
Today, a public museum and archeology lab and several of its buildings and the grounds have been reconstructed as Historic London Town and Gardens. The London Town Publik House, also known as Londontowne Public House, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and further has been designated a National Historic Landmark.
An orchestra (/ˈɔːrkᵻstrə/ or US /ˈɔːrˌkɛstrə/; Italian: [orˈkɛstra]) is a large instrumental ensemble used in classical music that contains sections of string (violin, viola, cello and double bass), brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. Other instruments such as the piano and celesta may sometimes be grouped into a fifth section such as a keyboard section or may stand alone, as may the concert harp and, for 20th and 21st century compositions, electric and electronic instruments. The term orchestra derives from the Greek ὀρχήστρα, the name for the area in front of an ancient Greek stage reserved for the Greek chorus. The orchestra grew by accretion throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, but changed very little in composition during the course of the 20th century.
Wiatta Padmore is a former teacher at the school, and proud to return as the principal.
The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra performs selections from Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake Suite' as two members of the Ballet Theatre of Maryland dance on stage. Performed June 2014 at Indian Creek School in Crownsville, Maryland.

04/13/2015 Sometimes you don't realize how special a place is to you until you return and it all floods back. This is no exception. Sorry for the awful quality - I accidentally somehow filmed vertically (the heracy!) and so had to adjust it on my computer at the cost of the quality. Ah well.
