The River Dee (Scottish Gaelic: Dè / Uisge Dhè), in south-west Scotland, flows from its source in Loch Dee amongst the Galloway Hills, firstly to Clatteringshaws Loch, then into Loch Ken, where it joins the Water of Ken. From there, the Dee flows 15 miles (24 km) southwards to Kirkcudbright, and into Kirkcudbright Bay to reach the Solway. The distance is just over 38 miles (61 km) in total. Together with its tributaries, the Dee's total catchment area is over 400 square miles (1,000 km2).
The river is dammed at Tongland, two miles (3 km) upriver from Kirkcudbright. This was constructed as part of the Galloway hydro-electric power scheme in the 1930s. Also at this site is Tongland Bridge, built in 1806 by Thomas Telford.
The ruins of Threave Castle stand on an island on the lower part of the Dee.
In Ptolemy's 2nd century work Geography it is recorded as Dēoúa. This form represents a development of Proto-Indo-European *deiueh2- 'a goddess', which occurs in many Celtic river-names.
Anastasia "Dee" Dualla, portrayed by Kandyse McClure, is a fictional character in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica.
A native of Sagittaron, Anastasia Dualla joined the Colonial Fleet against the wishes of her father; her decision to enlist caused a rift between them not healed by the time of the Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies.
For the mini-series, first season, and up until the last episode of the second season, Petty Officer Crew Specialist 2nd Class Dualla, was a communications NCO working in the CIC on board the Battlestar Galactica. One of her prime functions in this role is to act as a "bridge" between the Galactica's command staff and other spacecraft, including the fleet's combat air patrol.
Dualla expresses a romantic interest in President Laura Roslin's aide Billy Keikeya shortly after their first encounter aboard Galactica. This interest blossoms into a relationship between the two, but is brought to an end when Billy proposes marriage and Dualla realizes she is not really in love with him, due in part to her attraction to Galactica CAG, then-Captain Lee Adama. Billy is killed shortly thereafter in a terrorist attack aboard Cloud Nine, saving her life from a terrorist that was about to kill her. In the year between the discovery of New Caprica and the Cylon invasion of the colony, Dualla's position in the fleet changes considerably. She is involved in the failed conspiracy with Tory Foster and Saul Tigh to fraudulently ensure Laura Roslin's presidential election victory over Gaius Baltar. Despite this, within four months, Dualla is commissioned as a Lieutenant Junior Grade. On the day after the colony's ground-breaking ceremony, Rear Admiral William Adama approves her transfer to the Battlestar Pegasus, and Dualla accepts the marriage proposal from her new commanding officer, then-Commander Lee Adama. By the time of the Cylon invasion, she serves as executive officer of Pegasus.
Blizzard of Ozz is the debut solo album by British heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, released on 12 September 1980 in the UK and on 27 March 1981 in the US. The album was Osbourne's first release following his 1979 firing from Black Sabbath.Blizzard of Ozz is the first of two studio albums Osbourne recorded with guitarist Randy Rhoads prior to Rhoads' death in 1982.
Much of the album was written by guitarist Randy Rhoads, bassist Bob Daisley, and Ozzy Osbourne in a live-in rehearsal facility in Monmouth, Wales, with a friend of Osbourne's named Barry Screnage performing as the group's drummer. Screnage was never considered as a candidate to be the group's permanent drummer and he was not involved in the songwriting process at all. The band recorded demos of the songs "I Don't Know", "Crazy Train", "Goodbye to Romance", and "You Looking at Me Looking at You" in Birmingham in early 1980 with ex-Lone Star drummer Dixie Lee. The band had hoped Lee would be a permanent member but "he wasn't the final piece of the puzzle", bassist Daisley recalls. After auditioning several drummers, ex-Uriah Heep member Lee Kerslake was hired as the band's permanent drummer, and the completed lineup retreated to Clearwell Castle in Gloucestershire for six days to rehearse and give Kerslake an opportunity to learn the new songs. A week later, they traveled to Ridge Farm Studio to commence recording.

No Copyright infringement intended and thanks to the original makers of the song and label........ There has been so many versions uploaded but nobody uploaded or even bothered to upload the original song by one of the sweetest voices in soul music, Miss Dee Dee Warwick. Confined to the B-SIDE, it shows the sensitive and calm side of Dee Dee. Produced with an early philly sound by Jerry Wisner the song offers a magical feel and a scope into what good producton could have done for Dee Dee if only proper focus was taken into her style and her approach to soul music...... Mercury Records could not do that due to most of the good songs like this one being regulated to B Sides and the often little promoted songs being over produced or poorly produced.

From 1965, on Blue Rock. This track was released as 'Baby I'm Yours', but was changed to 'Another Lonely Saturday' to avoid confusion with the Barbara Lewis record of the same name. Pookie loves this record, and thinks Dee Dee Warwick was one of the premier NY Soul singers. The production is by Ed Townsend who did such a marvelous job on all of Dee Dee's early records. Enjoy!!!

You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
Feel like the only rooster in the hencoop,
And I guess it shows.
Mary Lou Jane (oh Mary Lou Jane)
Oh what a fine name (what a fine name)
And you're nothing like them females
From Dover City
(nothin' at all)
Front teeth missin'
(hee, you got your front teeth missin')
And that's fine for kissin' (oh, feels so good)
You're more loyal than my dog Sam,
And twice as pretty (and that's goin' some)
You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
Feel like the only rooster in the hencoop,
and I guess it shows.
I can't forget (oh, no)
When we first met (first)
Well, it was bull wrestling time
At the county fair rodeo
(or is it ro-de-o)
And I almost cried (wept)
When you took first prize
(first prize, sweetheart)
Well,
You just looked them critters in the face
And down they'd go
(they never had a chance)
You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
Feel like the only rooster in the hencoop,
and I guess it shows.
You're so sweet,
Horseflies keep hangin' 'round your face
Kentucky moonshine
Could never take your place
And your eyes
Could give me goose bumps down to my toes
