In botany, a tree is a perennial plant with an elongated stem, or trunk, supporting branches and leaves in most species. In some usages, the definition of a tree may be narrower, including only woody plants with secondary growth, plants that are usable as lumber or plants above a specified height. Trees are not a taxonomic group but include a variety of plant species that have independently evolved a woody trunk and branches as a way to tower above other plants to compete for sunlight. In looser senses, the taller palms, the tree ferns, bananas and bamboos are also trees. Trees tend to be long-lived, some reaching several thousand years old. The tallest known tree, a coast redwood named Hyperion, stands 115.6 m (379 ft) high. Trees have been in existence for 370 million years. It is estimated that there are just over 3 trillion mature trees in the world.
A tree typically has many secondary branches supported clear of the ground by the trunk. This trunk typically contains woody tissue for strength, and vascular tissue to carry materials from one part of the tree to another. For most trees it is surrounded by a layer of bark which serves as a protective barrier. Below the ground, the roots branch and spread out widely; they serve to anchor the tree and extract moisture and nutrients from the soil. Above ground, the branches divide into smaller branches and shoots. The shoots typically bear leaves, which capture light energy and convert it into sugars by photosynthesis, providing the food for the tree's growth and development. Flowers and fruit may also be present, but some trees, such as conifers, instead have pollen cones and seed cones; others, such as tree ferns, produce spores instead.
Climbing is the activity of using one's hands, feet, or any other part of the body to ascend a steep object. It is done recreationally, competitively, in trades that rely on it, and in emergency rescue and military operations. It is done indoors and out, on natural and manmade structures.
Climbing activities include:
Red Bull is an energy drink sold by Austrian company Red Bull GmbH, created in 1987. In terms of market share, Red Bull is the highest-selling energy drink in the world, with 5.387 billion cans sold in 2013.
Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz was inspired by an existing energy drink named Krating Daeng, which was first invented and sold in Thailand. He took this idea, modified the ingredients to suit the tastes of Westerners, and, in partnership with Chaleo Yoovidhya, founded Red Bull GmbH in 1987 in Chakkapong, Thailand. In Thai, daeng means red, and krating is the large bovine called "gaur". Red Bull is sold in a tall and slim blue-silver can, while Krating Daeng is in a gold shorter can. The two are different products, produced separately.
The Red Bull company slogan is "Red Bull gives you wings", and the product is marketed through advertising, events (Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, Red Bull Air Race, Red Bull Crashed Ice), sports team ownerships (RB Leipzig, FC Red Bull Salzburg, Red Bull Brasil, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Racing, Scuderia Toro Rosso), celebrity endorsements, and music, through its record label Red Bull Records.

Climbing Trees are a four-piece 'Cymrucana' band based in Pontypridd, South Wales. The group currently features Matthew Frederick (piano/guitar/vocals), Colenso Jones (guitar/bass/vocals), Martin Webb (guitar/bass/vocals) and James Bennetts (drums/vocals).
Formed in 2011, the band soon came to the attention of BBC Radio Wales as work on their first release progressed, being named BBC Introducing Band of the Week in February 2013 after supporting New York group Spin Doctors the previous month. Shortly after, the band appeared as part of BBC Radio Wales Music Day, before Single of the Week (for Aloisi) and Welsh Artist of the Week recognition followed in August 2013. In October of the same year, the band were hand-picked by Jamie Cullum as the support act for the Cardiff leg of his Momentum tour.
In April 2014 Climbing Trees were announced as one of the twelve BBC Horizons acts for 2014–15.
The band's sound has often been described as 'Cymrucana' by the media. 'A nod to both the Cool Cymru explosion of the 1990s and the ever-popular folk-rock genre Americana', the term was apparently invented and perpetuated by the band themselves. In a March 2014 interview with New Sound Wales, Frederick described;

This is a tree climbing technique based on a skill some people use to scale coconut trees. In the north, it allows you to move up branchless trunks. I've also included a woods-game that sharpens your climbing, endurance, strength, and awareness skills. Bit of knotless rigging and chunking out. Couldn't drop big pieces because of the septic system and leech field between house and tree.
WARNING! Do not attempt...unless you're superhuman like Kap! Watch as Kap shows you how to climb a coconut tree at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Using only his hands and feet and protected from falls by a rope and harness, Sharma collected valuable data from a soaring Redwood, located in a city park in Eureka, to measure tree water status as an indicator of how it has been affected by the current severe drought. Red Bull worked closely with two UC Berkeley Tree Biologists in preparing for and executing this project. The UC Berkeley tree biologists are currently developing funding to evaluate the impact of the current historic drought on ...

Legends are made of high climbing and what you see here is typical of what needed to be done in the days of wooden spar tree logging. A tall straight tree was selected as a prospective spar pole. A climber would climb the tree cutting off the limbs as he went and finally topping the tree. A profound hazard of the job was conk rot. People tend to think of these large trees as all being sound solid wood. Well some of them were. You see fir trees tend to die from the inside out as the sap wood is the most durable, but if water gets into the heart of the tree through a broken limb or injury these trees would rot on the inside and become dangerously weak. One of the things the climbers needed to determine was wether the tree was sound or not. As they climbed the tree the climbers traditionally...

The Land is a forthcoming documentary film about the nature of play, risk and hazard set in The Land, a Welsh "adventure” playground. Here, children climb trees, light fires and use hammers and nails in a play-space rooted in the belief that kids are empowered when they learn to manage risks on their own.
