In France "Seul ce soir" is one of the songs closely associated with the Second World War (together with Rina Ketty's "J'attendraiwhich was recorded in 1938). It was created by the legendary French female crooner Léo Marjane (*1912) in 1941 and became her most enduring hit song. The song spoke to the many women who were seperated from their husbands by the war. Many versions were recorded - mainly by female singers and orchestras such as Django Reinhardt and Fud Candrix. Male versions are rather rare.
Today's video features such a rare version by Toni Bert (1906-1988) - one of the many "chanteurs de charme" of the 1930s and 40s whose career lasted roughly a decade (1935-45). It is a charming version with great orchestration by Felix Chardon and his orchestra.

Born at Hohenburg Castle, in Upper Bavaria, Antonia was the fourth daughter of Guillaume IV, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, who reigned between 1905 and 1912, and Marie Anne, a princess of the Portuguese House of Braganza. Her maternal grandparents were Miguel of Portugal and Adelaide of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg.
She was the younger sister of two successive Grand Duchesses: Marie-Adélaïde and Charlotte. In the family she was called "Toni"
.
Antonia became the second wife of Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria. The two were engaged on 26 August 1918. At the time, Rupprecht was Generalfeldmarschall in the Imperial German army, and had successfully commanded the German Sixth Army at the Battle of Lorraine. This led to criticism of the close ties between the Luxembourgian Grand Ducal Family and the royalty of the German Empire at a time when Luxembourg was occupied by Germany. This added to the pressure already on Grand Duchess Marie-Adélaïde, who was forced to abdicate on 10 January 1919. Despite the abdication of her elder sister, and the overthrow of the Kingdom of Bavaria in favour of a republic, the two were married on 7 April 1921 at Hohenburg Castle.
As opponents of the Nazi regime, Antonia and Rupprecht were forced into exile in Italy in 1939. From here, they moved to Hungary. When Germany occupied Hungary in October 1944, Antonia and her children were captured, while Rupprecht, still in Italy, evaded arrest. They were imprisoned at Sachsenhausen. In early April 1945, they were moved to the Dachau concentration camp. Although liberated that same month, the imprisonment greatly impaired Antonia's health, and she died nine years later, at Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

S-a nascut in 1935 in Bucuresti. In 1958 este chemat sa se alature, ca acordeonist secund, tarafului lui Ion Namol: Ion Namol (vioara si voce), Florica Calu` (vioara), Ilie Udila (prim-acordeonist), Toni Iordache (tambal, la varsta de 16 ani) si Titi Coada (contrabas). In perioada 1958 - 1962 compune foarte multe cantece lautaresti devenite ulterior printre cele mai cunoscute piese ale repertoriului muzical lautaresc urban (mahala), printre care: "Buna seara, mama draga", "Blestemat sa fii de stele", "Nici nu ninge, nici nu ploua", "Uite mama, cade-o stea", "Tinerete, tinerete", "Inima suparacioasa" sau "Mori, murgule de necaz". O mare parte din repertoriul sau a fost preluat si inregistrat de mult mai cunoscutele interprete de muzica lautareasca, Romica Puceanu si Gabi Lunca (in special repertoriul lor incipient - perioada 1958 - 1964 - este puternic influentat de Lambru). La sfârşitul anilor `60 începe să cânte "La Iordache", vizavi de Cimitirul Belu. Ramane relativ obscur, cu exceptia faimei din comunitatile tiganesti de la marginea Bucurestiului, pentru publicul larg pana la sfarsitul anilor `80. In perioada 1992 - 1994 are numeroase aparitii la televiziune alaturi de Ion Onoriu si Gabi Lunca, intr-o orchestra ce ii avea ca membri pe George Udila (clarinet), Leonard Iordache (tambal) sau Ghita Coada (contrabas), multi dintre ei fiind copiii lautarilor cu care Lambru cantase la sfarsitul anilor `50. Moare in 2002. Stil: Gheorghe Lambru a fost deseori numit ultimul lautar autentic al veacului trecut. Datorita repertoriului si influentei pe care a exercitat-o asupra marilor voci de muzica lautareasca urbana (mahala), dar si datorita propriului stil interpretativ, atat vocal cat si la acordeon, devine cunoscut si respectat in lumea lautarilor de la marginea Bucurestiului, in a doua jumatate a sec. XX. Putem vorbi despre Gheorghe Lambru ca fiind lautarul care a facut tranzitia de la generatia anilor `40 - `50 (cu varfuri ca Ilie Alecu sau Nicolae Visan), la generatia anilor `60 - `70 (reprezentata de Costel „Trompetistu`" Vasilescu sau Cornel Bosoi, de exemplu). Preluand o parte din repertoriul de inceput de sec. XX (repertoriul „clasic" lautaresc -- „Lume, lume ce-ai cu mine" sau „Deschide usa, nevasta" „) si adaugand creatii proprii, Gheorghe Lambru a fost unul dintre cei mai influenti interpreti de muzica lautareasca urbana (mahala) ai Bucurestiului, fiind citat ca inspiratie pe rand de catre lautari ca Romica Puceanu, Gabi Lunca, Nicu Bela sau Florica Rosioru. Your Hit Parade is an American radio and television music program that was broadcast from 1935 to 1955 on radio, and seen from 1950 to 1959 on television. It was sponsored by American Tobacco's Lucky Strike cigarettes. During this 24-year run, the show had 19 orchestra leaders and 52 singers or groups. Many listeners and viewers casually referred to the show with the incorrect title The Hit Parade. Each Saturday evening, the program offered the most popular and bestselling songs of the week. The earliest format involved a presentation of the top 15 songs. Later, a countdown with fanfares led to the top three finalists, with the number one song for the finale. Occasional performances of standards and other favorite songs from the past were known as "Lucky Strike Extras." Your Hit Parade on television (1950-1959): André Baruch continued as the announcer when the program arrived on NBC television in summer 1950 (Del Sharbutt succeeded him in the 1957-58 season), written by William H. Nichols, and produced, in its first years, by both Dan Lounsbery and Ted Fetter. Norman Jewison and Clark Jones (nominated for a 1955 Emmy Award) directed with associate director Bill Colleran. Tony Charmoli won a 1956 Emmy for his choreography, and the show's other dance directors were Tom Hansen (1957--58), Peter Gennaro (1958--59) and Ernie Flatt (uncredited). Paul Barnes won an Emmy in 1957 for his art direction. In 1953, the show won a Peabody Award "for consistent good taste, technical perfection and unerring choice of performers." The seven top-rated songs of the week were presented in elaborate TV production numbers requiring constant set and costume changes. However, because the top songs sometimes stayed on the charts for many weeks, it was necessary to continually find ways of devising a new and different production number of the same song week after week. After the show was revamped in September 1957, the top songs were reduced to five, while "extras" were increased. On the TV series, vocalists Dorothy Collins (1950--59), Russell Arms (1952--57), Snooky Lanson (1950--57) and Gisèle MacKenzie (1953--57) were top-billed during the show's peak years. During this time, MacKenzie had her own hit record in 1955 with "Hard to Get" which climbed to the #5 ranking in June 1955 and stayed on the charts for 16 weeks. She also starred in her own NBC variety program, The Gisele MacKenzie Show from 1957--1958, a series produced by her mentor, Jack Benny. Russell Arms also enjoyed a hit record during his stint on the show - "Cinco Robles (Five Oaks)" (# 22 / 1957) The line-up of the show's other singers included Eileen Wilson (1950--52), Sue Bennett (1951--52), June Valli (1952--53), Alan Copeland (1957--58), Jill Corey (1957--58), Johnny Desmond (1958--59), Virginia Gibson (1957--58), and Tommy Leonetti (1957--58). All were performers of standards, show tunes or big band numbers. Featured prominently were the Hit Parade dancers and the Hit Paraders, the program's choral singers, who sang the opening commercial jingle (composed by Raymond Scott): Be happy, go Lucky,Be happy, go Lucky StrikeBe happy, go Lucky,Go Lucky Strike today! Your Hit Parade's TV vocalists (top, l. to r.): Snooky Lanson, Russell Arms and (bottom, l. to r.) Dorothy Collins, Gisèle MacKenzie. During the 1950-1951 season Bob Fosse appeared as a guest dancer on several episodes, with partner Mary Ann Niles. From 1950 until 1957, the orchestra was led by well-known bandleader and musician Raymond Scott (who married Dorothy Collins in 1952); the show's other music supervisors were Dick Jacobs (1957--58) and Harry Sosnik (1958--59). During the 1957-58 season, sponsor American Tobacco pitched Hit Parade filter cigarettes instead of Lucky Strikes. Alternate sponsors included Avco Manufacturing's Crosley division (1951--54), Richard Hudnut hair care products (1954--57), and The Toni Company (1957--58). The show faded with the rise of rock and roll when the performance became more important than the song. It is said that big band singer Snooky Lanson's weekly attempts to perform Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" hit in 1956 hastened the end of the series. The series went from NBC to CBS in 1958 and expired the following year. While Your Hit Parade was unable to deal with the rock revolution, the show's imaginative production concepts had an obvious influence on the wave of music videos that began in the decade that followed. Hjalmar Jay Elwing (1903-1970) and his band was playing at Cecil in Stockholm, at some years in early thirties he was working as musician in Hollywood but returned to Sweden and started his own band during 1934-35 he was recording manager of the Swedish record label Resia. After he returned to US and had a band in Los Angeles. He went back to Stockholm as he thought for some month in 1939. But the war came and he never returned working in US. As opponents of the Nazi regime, Antonia and Rupprecht were forced into exile in Italy in 1939. From here, they moved to Hungary. When Germany occupied Hungary in October 1944, Antonia and her children were captured, while Rupprecht, still in Italy, evaded arrest. They were imprisoned at Sachsenhausen. In early April 1945, they were moved to the Dachau concentration camp. Although liberated that same month, the imprisonment greatly impaired Antonia's health, and she died nine years later, at Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

Born at Hohenburg Castle, in Upper Bavaria, Antonia was the fourth daughter of Guillaume IV, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, who reigned between 1905 and 1912, and Marie Anne, a princess of the Portuguese House of Braganza. Her maternal grandparents were Miguel of Portugal and Adelaide of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg.
She was the younger sister of two successive Grand Duchesses: Marie-Adélaïde and Charlotte. In the family she was called "Toni"
.
Antonia became the second wife of Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria. The two were engaged on 26 August 1918. At the time, Rupprecht was Generalfeldmarschall in the Imperial German army, and had successfully commanded the German Sixth Army at the Battle of Lorraine. This led to criticism of the close ties between the Luxembourgian Grand Ducal Family and the royalty of the German Empire at a time when Luxembourg was occupied by Germany. S-a nascut in 1935 in Bucuresti. In 1958 este chemat sa se alature, ca acordeonist secund, tarafului lui Ion Namol: Ion Namol (vioara si voce), Florica Calu` (vioara), Ilie Udila (prim-acordeonist), Toni Iordache (tambal, la varsta de 16 ani) si Titi Coada (contrabas).
In perioada 1958 - 1962 compune foarte multe cantece lautaresti devenite ulterior printre cele mai cunoscute piese ale repertoriului muzical lautaresc urban (mahala), printre care: "Buna seara, mama draga", "Blestemat sa fii de stele", "Nici nu ninge, nici nu ploua", "Uite mama, cade-o stea", "Tinerete, tinerete", "Inima suparacioasa" sau "Mori, murgule de necaz". O mare parte din repertoriul sau a fost preluat si inregistrat de mult mai cunoscutele interprete de muzica lautareasca, Romica Puceanu si Gabi Lunca (in special repertoriul lor incipient - perioada 1958 - 1964 - este puternic influentat de Lambru). La sfârşitul anilor `60 începe să cânte "La Iordache", vizavi de Cimitirul Belu. Ramane relativ obscur, cu exceptia faimei din comunitatile tiganesti de la marginea Bucurestiului, pentru publicul larg pana la sfarsitul anilor `80.
In perioada 1992 - 1994 are numeroase aparitii la televiziune alaturi de Ion Onoriu si Gabi Lunca, intr-o orchestra ce ii avea ca membri pe George Udila (clarinet), Leonard Iordache (tambal) sau Ghita Coada (contrabas), multi dintre ei fiind copiii lautarilor cu care Lambru cantase la sfarsitul anilor `50. Moare in 2002.
Stil: Gheorghe Lambru a fost deseori numit ultimul lautar autentic al veacului trecut. Datorita repertoriului si influentei pe care a exercitat-o asupra marilor voci de muzica lautareasca urbana (mahala), dar si datorita propriului stil interpretativ, atat vocal cat si la acordeon, devine cunoscut si respectat in lumea lautarilor de la marginea Bucurestiului, in a doua jumatate a sec. XX.
Putem vorbi despre Gheorghe Lambru ca fiind lautarul care a facut tranzitia de la generatia anilor `40 - `50 (cu varfuri ca Ilie Alecu sau Nicolae Visan), la generatia anilor `60 - `70 (reprezentata de Costel „Trompetistu`" Vasilescu sau Cornel Bosoi, de exemplu). Preluand o parte din repertoriul de inceput de sec. XX (repertoriul „clasic" lautaresc -- „Lume, lume ce-ai cu mine" sau „Deschide usa, nevasta" „) si adaugand creatii proprii, Gheorghe Lambru a fost unul dintre cei mai influenti interpreti de muzica lautareasca urbana (mahala) ai Bucurestiului, fiind citat ca inspiratie pe rand de catre lautari ca Romica Puceanu, Gabi Lunca, Nicu Bela sau Florica Rosioru.

Your Hit Parade is an American radio and television music program that was broadcast from 1935 to 1955 on radio, and seen from 1950 to 1959 on television. It was sponsored by American Tobacco's Lucky Strike cigarettes. During this 24-year run, the show had 19 orchestra leaders and 52 singers or groups. Many listeners and viewers casually referred to the show with the incorrect title The Hit Parade.
Each Saturday evening, the program offered the most popular and bestselling songs of the week. The earliest format involved a presentation of the top 15 songs. Later, a countdown with fanfares led to the top three finalists, with the number one song for the finale. Occasional performances of standards and other favorite songs from the past were known as "Lucky Strike Extras."
Your Hit Parade on television (1950-1959):
André Baruch continued as the announcer when the program arrived on NBC television in summer 1950 (Del Sharbutt succeeded him in the 1957-58 season), written by William H. Nichols, and produced, in its first years, by both Dan Lounsbery and Ted Fetter. Norman Jewison and Clark Jones (nominated for a 1955 Emmy Award) directed with associate director Bill Colleran. Tony Charmoli won a 1956 Emmy for his choreography, and the show's other dance directors were Tom Hansen (1957--58), Peter Gennaro (1958--59) and Ernie Flatt (uncredited). Paul Barnes won an Emmy in 1957 for his art direction. In 1953, the show won a Peabody Award "for consistent good taste, technical perfection and unerring choice of performers."
The seven top-rated songs of the week were presented in elaborate TV production numbers requiring constant set and costume changes. However, because the top songs sometimes stayed on the charts for many weeks, it was necessary to continually find ways of devising a new and different production number of the same song week after week. After the show was revamped in September 1957, the top songs were reduced to five, while "extras" were increased.
On the TV series, vocalists Dorothy Collins (1950--59), Russell Arms (1952--57), Snooky Lanson (1950--57) and Gisèle MacKenzie (1953--57) were top-billed during the show's peak years. During this time, MacKenzie had her own hit record in 1955 with "Hard to Get" which climbed to the #5 ranking in June 1955 and stayed on the charts for 16 weeks. She also starred in her own NBC variety program, The Gisele MacKenzie Show from 1957--1958, a series produced by her mentor, Jack Benny. Russell Arms also enjoyed a hit record during his stint on the show - "Cinco Robles (Five Oaks)" (# 22 / 1957)
The line-up of the show's other singers included Eileen Wilson (1950--52), Sue Bennett (1951--52), June Valli (1952--53), Alan Copeland (1957--58), Jill Corey (1957--58), Johnny Desmond (1958--59), Virginia Gibson (1957--58), and Tommy Leonetti (1957--58). All were performers of standards, show tunes or big band numbers. Featured prominently were the Hit Parade dancers and the Hit Paraders, the program's choral singers, who sang the opening commercial jingle (composed by Raymond Scott):

During the 1950-1951 season Bob Fosse appeared as a guest dancer on several episodes, with partner Mary Ann Niles. From 1950 until 1957, the orchestra was led by well-known bandleader and musician Raymond Scott (who married Dorothy Collins in 1952); the show's other music supervisors were Dick Jacobs (1957--58) and Harry Sosnik (1958--59). During the 1957-58 season, sponsor American Tobacco pitched Hit Parade filter cigarettes instead of Lucky Strikes. Alternate sponsors included Avco Manufacturing's Crosley division (1951--54), Richard Hudnut hair care products (1954--57), and The Toni Company (1957--58).
The show faded with the rise of rock and roll when the performance became more important than the song. It is said that big band singer Snooky Lanson's weekly attempts to perform Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" hit in 1956 hastened the end of the series. The series went from NBC to CBS in 1958 and expired the following year. While Your Hit Parade was unable to deal with the rock revolution, the show's imaginative production concepts had an obvious influence on the wave of music videos that began in the decade that followed.

Hjalmar Jay Elwing (1903-1970) and his band was playing at Cecil in Stockholm, at some years in early thirties he was working as musician in Hollywood but returned to Sweden and started his own band during 1934-35 he was recording manager of the Swedish record label Resia. After he returned to US and had a band in Los Angeles. He went back to Stockholm as he thought for some month in 1939. But the war came and he never returned working in US. In 1960 he left his career as musician and was working as tour leader for visiting artists in Sweden.
Gösta Kjellertz (1912-1984) is singing the refrain, Kjellertz did various recording (more than 100) and was also working as actor. Mostly known is his participation in the nice music movie Löjtnantshjärtan (Heart of Lieutenants) from 1942.
Parad was a Swedish label working from 1934 -1936, and those records are not common to find. Many of the Parad recordings was edited at other labels as for example Resia Colorit and Toni. But from I have been able to found out, this melody was just edited in this printing.

In Erinnerung an Anton Wörle, vulgo Post-Toni, den langjährigen Obmann der Herolde und begeisterten Telfer Fasnachtler, der am 1. April 2016 im 73. Lebensjahr verstorben ist. Er war eine große Persönlichkeit des Schleicherlaufens, der Fasnacht in Telfs (Tirol). O clube, é propriedade de uma grande empresa chinesa, a qual obedece à lógica de mercado, prevista, aliás, no contrato do técnico português: quando o campeonato chegar a meio, se Toni não estiver pelo menos em 10º lugar, a aventura acaba.
O idioma é a grande muralha, pois durante um jogo-treino, Toni chega a falar inglês, mandarim, francês, português e espanholês. E tem de se preocupar para não errar no quem é quem da equipa do Ginde.

Entrenador y tío de Rafa Nadal, ha sabido formar a esta gran figura del tenis español no sólo como deportista de élite, sino también como persona: 'Aunque a ti te vayan las cosas muy bien, aunque tengas dinero y éxito, tendrás que aguantarte, porque habrá cosas que no podrás controlar. Morirá un familiar. Te dejará la novia. Y te tendrás que aguantar'. Eso se tiene que entrenar, lo mismo que en el tenis el drive. Es fundamental para ser más feliz y mejor persona".
