Atsushi (musician)

Atsushi Satō (Japanese: 佐藤 篤志, Hepburn: Satō Atsushi, born April 30, 1980), known as Atsushi or Exile Atsushi (stylized as ATSUSHI and EXILE ATSUSHI) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and part-time producer. Debuting as a member of the band EXILE in 2001, Atsushi is currently one of the main vocalists for the group. In 2004, Atsushi began working as a producer for the group Deep (then known as Color), and in 2011 released his debut solo single "Itsuka Kitto...".

Biography

Atsushi was born in Saitama on April 30, 1980. He first started playing the piano at four years of age, and at high school after joining a band decided he would rather become a vocalist. After high school, Atsushi attended the ESP Musical Academy in Tokyo to further train himself as a vocalist.

In 2000, Atsushi entered the Asayan televised talent search, making it through to the last five. In 2001, after seeing Atsushi on Asayan, Hiro of the 1990s band Zoo asked him to join a musical group he was producing, called J Soul Brothers. The group had been releasing music since 1999, however when Atsushi and vocalist Shunsuke Kiyokiba were added to the group and the group's original vocalist Sasa decided to leave the group, Hiro renamed the group Exile.

YouTube Red is a paid subscription service offered by YouTube to internet users in the United States; it provides advertising-free streaming of videos hosted by the service, offline and background playback of videos on mobile devices, access to new original content, and access to advertising-free music streaming in November 2014. It offered ad-free streaming of music and music videos from participating labels on YouTube and Google Play Music. The service was re-launched in a revised form as YouTube Red on October 28, 2015, expanding its scope to offer ad-free access to all YouTube videos, as opposed to just music, as well as premium content produced in collaboration with notable YouTube producers and personalities.

History

The service was first unveiled in November 2014 as Music Key, serving as a collaboration between YouTube and Google Play Music, and meant to succeed the former's own subscription service. Music Key offered ad-free playback of music videos from participating labels hosted on YouTube, as well as background and offline playback of music videos on mobile devices from within the YouTube app. The service also included access to Google Play Music All Access, which provides ad-free audio streaming of a library of music. Alongside Music Key, Google also introduced tighter integration between Play Music and YouTube's apps, including the sharing of music recommendations, and access to YouTube's music videos from within the Play Music app. Music Key was not YouTube's first foray into premium content, having launched film rentals in 2010, and premium, subscription-based channels in 2013.

Gen Hoshino (星野 源, Hoshino Gen, born 28 January 1981 in Saitama Prefecture) is a Japanese singer, songwriter, lyricist, actor, and voice actor.

Music

Since 2000, Hoshino has led the instrumental band Sakerock, where he plays marimba and guitar. They released over ten albums. As a solo artist, he debuted with his first album Baka no Uta on 23 June 2010. His first physical single, "Kudaranai no Naka ni" (number 17 on the Oricon charts), was released on 2 March 2011 and the subsequent singles: "Film", "Yume no Soto e", "Shiranai" (2012), and "Gag" (2013) all charted in the top 10. His second album, Episode, released on 28 September 2011, peaked at number 5, while his third album Stranger, released on 1 May 2013, at number 2 of Oricon. Since 2011, he's been co-hosting a program broadcast via Ustream called Sake no Sakana (サケノサカナ) together with Ichirō Yamaguchi of Sakanaction.

Acting and voice acting

Hoshino's movie debut, Lee Sang-il's 69, was an adaptation of the Ryū Murakami novel of the same name. He previously acted in various television dramas and stage plays. In 2012, he debuted as a voice actor, voicing Buddha in the original video animation (OVA) adaptation of Hikaru Nakamura's manga Saint Young Men, and also provided a theme song called "Gag" for its 2013 theatrical version, where he reprised his role. He's set to play the lead character in Masahide Ichii's Blindly in Love (箱入り息子の恋, Hakoiri Musuko no Koi) (to be released on 8 June 2013) alongside Kaho, and star in the new Sion Sono film Why Don't You Play in Hell?, due to be released on 28 September 2013.
