YouTube Red

YouTube Red is a paid subscription service offered by YouTube to internet users in the United States; it provides advertising-free streaming of videos hosted by the service, offline and background playback of videos on mobile devices, access to new original content, and access to advertising-free music streaming in November 2014. It offered ad-free streaming of music and music videos from participating labels on YouTube and Google Play Music. The service was re-launched in a revised form as YouTube Red on October 28, 2015, expanding its scope to offer ad-free access to all YouTube videos, as opposed to just music, as well as premium content produced in collaboration with notable YouTube producers and personalities.

History

The service was first unveiled in November 2014 as Music Key, serving as a collaboration between YouTube and Google Play Music, and meant to succeed the former's own subscription service. Music Key offered ad-free playback of music videos from participating labels hosted on YouTube, as well as background and offline playback of music videos on mobile devices from within the YouTube app. The service also included access to Google Play Music All Access, which provides ad-free audio streaming of a library of music. Alongside Music Key, Google also introduced tighter integration between Play Music and YouTube's apps, including the sharing of music recommendations, and access to YouTube's music videos from within the Play Music app. Music Key was not YouTube's first foray into premium content, having launched film rentals in 2010, and premium, subscription-based channels in 2013.

We Love

"We Love" (also known as "We Love to Entertain You") is the theme song for the Star Force image campaign of German television network ProSieben. Since its introduction several variations of the song have been interpreted by various stars, including Melanie C, Sarah Connor, The Pussycat Dolls and Take That. In 2008, German girl band Monrose recorded their own version of the song, produced by Mozart & Friends, which was released as a digital download single on March 20, 2008 (see 2008 in music).

Writing and recording

Penned by Mozart & Friends writers Alexander Gernert, Manuel Loyo, Alexander Hahn and Alexander Krause, commissioned "We Love" was written and composed in a single week, since the song was needed for a video shooting Monrose had already been booked for at the Hangar 7 in Salzburg, Austria. The track was produced by Hahn and team head Marc Mozart, who said "it was extremely fun to work on this production [...] A&R executives Markus Hartmann and Stefan Harder of ProSieben's music department Starwatch trusted that we'd come up with a hot song, so we enjoyed both a lot of creative freedom while being under the pressure of a short deadline."

We Love You

"We Love You" is a rock song written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, first released as a single in the UK by The Rolling Stones on 18 August 1967, with "Dandelion" as the B-side. It reached the top ten in Britain, peaking at No. 8, but only made it to No. 50 in the US, where "Dandelion" (which reached No. 14) was promoted as the A-side. The song features uncredited backing vocals by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

This single's two tracks would be the final Stones recordings receiving a production credit for band manager Andrew Loog Oldham.

Background

Allen Ginsberg was in London for a pro-marijuana rally in Hyde Park. He met Jagger at McCartney's house, and Jagger invited the Beat poet to that night's session with McCartney and Lennon to record uncredited backing vocals for "We Love You". Ginsberg, waving his Shiva beads and a Tibetan oracle ring, conducted the singers from the other side of the studio glass to the tempo of the stuttering Mellotron track. "They looked like little angels," he wrote later of the Stones and Beatles, "like Botticelli Graces singing together for the first time."
