Ben Haenow (album)

Ben Haenow is the eponymous debut studio album by English recording artist Ben Haenow, released on 13 November 2015, through Syco Music and RCA Records. After winning the eleventh series of The X Factor in 2014, Haenow traveled to Los Angeles to immediately begin development of the album by collaborating with established musicians such as Kelly Clarkson, Julian Bunetta, Iain James, Kodaline, Anne Preven, Red Triangle, Steve Robson, J.R. Rotem, and Amy Wadge.

Haenow described the record as a mélange of uptempo pop rock anthems and pop ballads, making a departure from the rock album he was expected to release following his tenure on The X Factor. Ben Haenow was preceded by the release of its lead single, "Second Hand Heart", which became a top 40 hit on the Official UK Singles Chart. The album's supporting tour, the One Night Tour, will commence in April 2016.

Background and recording

Upon winning the eleventh series of The X Factor, Haenow released his debut single, a cover version of OneRepublic's "Something I Need" in December 2014. The track debuted at the top of the Official UK Singles Chart while simultaneously becoming the UK Christmas number one single of the year. In January 2015, Haenow signed a recording contract with his mentor Simon Cowell's record company Syco Music; and in October 2015, he entered into a US record deal with Sony Music Entertainment's RCA Records label.

Muse (children's magazine)

Muse is a children's magazine published by Carus Publishing, the publishers of Cricket. Launched in January 1997, it is published in Chicago, Illinois, and has readers throughout the United States and around the world. From 1997 to 2006, it was published in collaboration between Cricket and Smithsonian. Recommended for ages nine and above, it features articles about science, history, and the arts. Muse encourages the reader to think about questions that may not have definite answers. Nine cartoon characters, known as the Muses, used to appear in the margins throughout the magazine as well as in the Kokopelli & Company comic strip. Among them, only Urania was one of the original Greek muses; Kokopelli, a trickster, is a god in many native American tribes. They now have a currently unnamed comic that replaced Muse's muses, featuring completely new characters, as well as some new content and slightly different layout, as they recently joined with a sister magazine, Odyssey.

The Voyage of the Mimi

The Voyage of the Mimi is a thirteen-episode American educational television program depicting the crew of the Mimi exploring the ocean and taking a census of humpback whales. The series aired on PBS and was created by the Bank Street College of Education in 1984 to teach middle-schoolers about science and mathematics in an interesting and interactive way, where every lesson related to real world applications. The series was also released on VHS and as a LaserDisc collection. In August 2014, the series was released in digital form via iTunes U.

Format

After a segment of fictional adventure in the first part of each episode, a corresponding "expedition documentary" taught viewers something scientific relating to plot events in the previous episode of the show. For example, there was an episode where the plot was about obtaining drinkable water, and over the course of the episode, the viewer would also be given lessons about condensation, heat, and the three states of matter. Each lesson had accompanying student and teacher handouts or worksheets. Four software modules were available that covered topics and skills in navigation and map reading, computer literacy and programming, the elements of ecosystems, and the natural environment of whales.

Eclipse (video game)

Eclipse is a mod for the video game Half-Life 2. It is a fantasy-themed action-adventure viewed in third-person. Eclipse was developed by CelTech Studios, a group of students from The Guildhall at SMU and released June 17, 2005.

Storyline

Eclipse is a third-person total conversion of Valve's Half-Life 2. Eclipse is an action/adventure game featuring puzzles and combat. The player plays a character named Violet, a young sorceress with telekinetic abilities. This ability allows Violet to pick up and throw objects; this is what the player uses to fight. Violet eventually learns new abilities like Hellstorm, an ability to summon up to three "Fairy Orbs" which can cause significant damage.

Critical reaction

Eclipse received the ModDB 2005 Editor's Choice award for released mods from Mod DB. ModDB highlighted an interesting telekinesis-based combat, gorgeous visuals, excellent level design, and original soundtrack.

Eclipse is the third novel in the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. It continues the story of Bella Swan and her vampire love, Edward Cullen. The novel explores Bella's compromise between her love for Edward and her friendship with shape-shifter Jacob Black, along with her dilemma of leaving her mortality behind in a terrorized atmosphere, a result of mysterious vampire attacks in Seattle.

Eclipse is preceded by New Moon and followed by Breaking Dawn.
