Buster is a 1988 comedy-drama film based on characters and events from the Great Train Robbery (1963). It stars musician Phil Collins, Julie Walters, Larry Lamb and Sheila Hancock. The soundtrack featured two Phil Collins singles which eventually topped the Billboard 100 singles chart.
Buster Edwards (Phil Collins) is a petty criminal from the East End of 1960s London. His long-suffering wife June (Julie Walters) thinks of him as a loveable rogue and cannot believe it when she learns of his involvement in the Great Train Robbery.
For several months after the robbery, Buster and June are in hiding with their young daughter Nicky (Ellie Beaven) until they are turned in to the police by a suspicious neighbour. Buster flees to Acapulco where he is met by fellow Great Train Robber Bruce Reynolds (Larry Lamb) and his girlfriend Franny Reynolds (Stephanie Lawrence) who are also on the run and living it up in the sun with the profits of their crime.
June and Nicky arrive despite the disapproval of her mother (Sheila Hancock) and although Nicky seems to love her new life in the sun, June is immediately not keen on their new way of life, resolving to return to England, despite knowing that if Buster is to return with them, then this will mean imprisonment for him.
Buster's the story of a guy that anyone in his right mind would run away from. Or should run away from, since Buster spends all his spare time provoking strangers into fights, then refusing to defend himself as they pummel him 'til they grow bored. He's also a grifter, sucking his brother dry, and a cancer, sabotaging his brother's relationship with his girlfriend. Think of him as the patron saint of passive aggression, the don of all losers, or maybe just a regular guy who lost his mind trying to avoid growing up. But most people aren't in their right minds, so this is also the story of the people who don't run away: Scott, his brother, who'd like to imagine Buster has just been "going through a phase" (his entire life...). Scott's girlfriend Jesse, who dreams of a life where she'll wake up without Buster sharing their bed but realizes that means he'll sleep outside. Ben, a bum who thinks he's Buster's friend despite getting nothing but abuse in return. Sam the drunk bartender - who helps Buster keep his habits. Sam's crazy girlfriend Missy, a very skimpy dressed loud mouth, who drags Buster to bed whenever she can. Missy's daughter Bess, a 15-year-old girl, always lurking about, never speaking, just staring, using Buster as clay for her own never-realized imaginings. The Preacher, who sees in Buster a sort of ruined nobility that in reality's probably nothing but pure ruin (though to be fair to the Preacher, he is drunk most of the time, and sometimes drunks just forget to know better). In this collection of unlikely admirers -- from the strangers who beat him to the strangers who've deluded themselves into thinking they're not strangers at all -- Buster keeps his distance. The only one close to him is his brother Scott, who himself is trying to get his life together. Buster tries in vain to keep Scott next to him in his care free land of non-tax-paying-abusers, knowing he'll loose him sooner or later to the much prettier and determined Jesse. Buster can only beat her at fucking up and does so in a way that's very hard for Scott to ignore.

Plot: Keith Lemon ('Leigh Francis' (qv)) is preparing to take his invention, the securipole, which he has been attempting to lift off the ground for twenty years, to a business convention in London. Meanwhile, his girlfriend Rosie (Laura Aikman) has discovered that she is pregnant, but due to Keith being away, instead confides in his best friend, Dougie (Kevin Bishop). At the convention, the securipole fails to attract any big investor attention, and back at home, an order of 1,000,000 securipoles arrives, much to Rosie and Dougie's dismay. Realising that his invention may never be successful, and that he now owes Evil Steve (Leigh Francis) a ton of money for the securipoles, Lemon decides to stay in London, and takes the advice of fellow businessman Kushvinder (Harish Patel), and accepts the gift of a new style mobile phone that Kushvinder has invented. Attempting to turn the gift into his next money-making scheme, Lemon accepts an offer to appear on David Hasselhoff's prime time television chat show, after meeting up with his guardian angel, Archimedes (Verne Troyer). At first, the phone fails to impress, but after Lemon places a sticky Lemon sweet on the back, becomes an overnight sensation. Kelly Brook is impressed with the invention, and offers Lemon an invitation to go out on a date with her. Things are finally looking up - and Lemon decides to stick at his new life, while back home, Rosie is in serious danger after being kidnapped by Evil Steve. However, Lemon's world comes crashing down when the Lemon phone is discovered to have a major technical fault, which causes the owner's mouth to sag, giving them a speech impediment. Realising that he has no choice but to go back to his old life, Lemon accepts the advice of his best friend, Dougie, but will he be able to save Rosie from the clutches of Evil Steve, and escape the media backlash that he is facing?

You call me all the time
Try to make me mad
Because you want to
And when everything is lame
You're the one to blame
Try to piss me off
Because you want to
And you're waiting for a train wreck
And you're brainless on the subject
While you're looking for attention
And the things that people mention
Nothing better to do
Than to treat me rude
Because you want to
It's you're attitude
That makes you so rude
