Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI), or magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to image the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body in both health and disease. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields, radio waves, and field gradients to form images of the body.

The MRI is a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner. We can observe almost every part of the body from head to foot and from every angel with this imaging device, particularly the internal organs. And if we have a clear idea of what we are looking for we can attain great results. This scanner does not use X-rays but a powerful magnetic field, like a giant magnet. We will use various settings to highlight details in black... or grey... or white. It all depends on what we are looking for.
Guerbet tell you how a MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is performed as well as the interest of using a contrast agent for a MRI exam.

3 expert tips to help you get through an MRI.
Radiographer, Mark Harrison gives a quick patient overview of the MRI scan...
When it comes to getting an MRI, you have a lot of options. One scanning choice at CDI is the Aera, a wide-bore scanner. “Wide-bore” means the space that you go into is significantly wider or more spacious than traditional MR machines. So you can see what the Aera is like, we take you into the MR suite. Get a look at the machine and how you’ll be positioned on the table for various scans including: -MRI of the Brain (in this scan a coil is placed over your head) -MRI of the Shoulder (in this scan a coil is placed over your shoulder) -MRI of the Knee (in this scan a coil is placed over your knee) Keywords: MRI, EXAM, IMAGING, CDI, AERA, WIDE-BORE, SCAN, MEDICAL, PATIENT, CARE
Prostate cancer is the most common kind of cancer in men, besides skin cancer. These days, Urologists are teaming up with CDI radiologists for a more powerful way to diagnose and treat prostate cancer. CDI’s Dr. Sidney Walker explains how doctors are combining our MRI imaging with TRUS (transrectal ultrasound) to find cancer that might have been missed in the past. https://goo.gl/gbeNvW
This video contains information about having an MRI scan in Tayside hospitals. For further information go to our webpage about MRI in NHS Tayside - http://www.nhstayside.scot.nhs.uk/OurServicesA-Z/ClinicalRadiology/PROD_222060
A cardiac MRI scan uses magnetic fields to look at how your heart is working without causing you too much pain or discomfort. This video explains everything that will happen on the day of your cardiac MRI scan and talks you through the process from start to finish. The MRI scanner is very loud and this video will give you some idea of what it will sound like before you come in for your treatment, and will also help you choose what to wear for your appointment as some items of clothing are not recommended.

Doctors are ordering more diagnostic tests for their patients (CT scans, MRI exams, mammograms, various blood tests, and much more) to help with diagnosis. And yet the results of these tests are often not reaching the right caregivers quickly enough. In rare cases, critical results are lost or sent to the wrong person, significantly delaying diagnosis and treatment. Watch this 30-minute webinar to learn how Spok can securely and rapidly transfer time-sensitive information from the Lab and Radiology to the right caregivers to speed patient care.

The use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays an important role in diagnosing multiple sclerosis, tracking disease progression, and evaluating the effectiveness of prescribed therapy. This three-part program features interviews with an MS patient describing her experience undergoing an MRI exam, a noted neurologist explaining the value of an MRI, and a representative of MSAA discussing the organization's two MRI financial assistance programs.
