King's Island (Pennsylvania)
King Island is a 35.7-acre (144,000 m2) alluvial island in the upper Allegheny River. It is located in Harmony Township, Forest County, Pennsylvania, and is part of the Allegheny Islands Wilderness in Allegheny National Forest.
King Island is one of the more accessible of the seven islands in the Allegheny River Wilderness Islands. It is a prime location for old growth, virgin, and river bottom forests. The waters of the Allegheny River around the northwest side Island are a riffle habitat, a prime location for freshwater mussels.
Two abandoned oil wells can be found on the island.

King's Island, Limerick
King's Island is an area of central Limerick, Ireland. The area is often referred to colloquially as The Island and consists of two distinct areas, Englishtown and St Mary's Park. The historical city of Limerick known as Englishtown is located on the southern end and St Mary's Park; a local authority housing estate is located on the northern end.
The island is formed from a distributary of the River Shannon. The Abbey River diverts from the Shannon before meeting it again at a confluence near the Potato Market.
The island probably took its name after the 13th-century English King John's Castle was built. However, a 150AD map by Ptolemy shows a place called 'Regia' at the same site as King's Island, and history suggests the presence of earlier settlements in the area. The island's location offers an ideal defensive position at a natural river crossing.

King's Shropshire Light Infantry
The King's Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI) was a light infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1881, but with antecedents dating back to 1755. In 1968 the KSLI was merged with the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry, the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and the Durham Light Infantry to form The Light Infantry. In February 2007 The Light Infantry itself amalgamated with the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment, the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment and the Royal Green Jackets to become part of the new large regiment, The Rifles.
Formation
The King's Light Infantry (Shropshire Regiment) was formed on July 1, 1881, as the county regiment of Herefordshire and Shropshire as part of the Childers Reforms. It was renamed as The King's (Shropshire Light Infantry) in March 1882.
The regiment was an amalgamation of the 53rd (Shropshire) Regiment of Foot and the 85th (King's Light Infantry) Regiment of Foot, which became the regular 1st and 2nd Battalions. The 1881 reforms also redesignated the militia and rifle volunteers units within the regimental district as battalions of the regiment. Accordingly, the Shropshire Militia and Royal Herefordshire Militia became the 3rd and 4th (Militia) Battalions respectively, and the 1st and 2nd Shropshire Rifle Volunteer Corps became the 1st and 2nd Volunteer Battalions. The 1st Herefordshire (Herefordshire and Radnorshire) Rifle Volunteer Corps was also affiliated as a volunteer battalion, without change of title.

King's (Prince Edward Island electoral district)
King's was a federal electoral district in Prince Edward Island, Canada, that was represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1896 to 1968.
This riding was created from King's County riding.
It was abolished in 1966 when it was merged into Cardigan riding.
It initially consisted of the town of Georgetown and other parts of the County of King's.
In 1903, it was redefined to consist of the whole of the County of King's.

Today is National Carousel Day! What better way to celebrate than with featuring our charming Grand Carousel?! It is a staple attraction here at Kings Island where guests get the opportunity to ride a genuine antique wooden horse. Kings Island’s magnificent carousel is timeless as it was manufactured by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, Philadelphia, Pa., in 1926. It is the oldest ride in the park and is one of approximately 90 carousels built by the company from 1904 to 1934. The coaster is naturally exciting because of its setting in a densely wooded area. The natural rugged terrain and tunnel ensures a unique and memorable ride experience. Mystic Timbers was custom designed and built for the topography of Kings Island by Great Coasters International, Inc. (GCI) of Sunbury, Pa. The ride’s layout interacts with both the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon attractions during its two-minute ride cycle. As the train climbs the 109-foot lift hill, a voice is heard saying, “Hey! Hey! I see up there! What do you think you’re doing? This is security. Seriously, guys, you need to take that truck and go home to your video games. This place is not safe. Whatever you do, don’t go in the shed!” And then an adventure into the unknown begins.
ABOUT
Mystic Timbers is a wooden roller coaster located at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Constructed by Great Coasters International, the roller coaster opened in the park's Rivertown section on April 15, 2017. Mystic Timbers is the park's fourth wooden coaster, and its opening allowed Kings Island to reclaim the title of having the most wooden roller coaster track of any amusement park in the world with 18,804 feet (5,731 m). During its marketing campaign, the ride's finale element in an enclosed shed was kept secret until the ride's debut. In the annual Golden Ticket Awards by Amusement Today, it was awarded "Best New Ride" in 2017.
Mystic Timbers is themed around a fictional logging company, Miami River Lumber, that purchased the surrounding land for its timber. The company planned to use the adjacent Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad – the park's steam locomotive attraction – for shipping the timber out. Everyone who enjoys the fun and thrills of riding a roller coaster will want to experience Mystic Timbers, voted “Best New Ride” in 2017 by Amusement Today. Themed to an abandoned lumber company, riders experience 16 airtime moments as they weave along 3,265 feet of track through wooded terrain, over water and through a mid-course tunnel at speeds up to 53 mph. The coaster is naturally exciting because of its setting in a densely wooded area. The natural rugged terrain and tunnel ensures a unique and memorable ride experience. Mystic Timbers was custom designed and built for the topography of Kings Island by Great Coasters International, Inc. (GCI) of Sunbury, Pa. The ride’s layout interacts with both the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon attractions during its two-minute ride cycle. As the train climbs the 109-foot lift hill, a voice is heard saying, “Hey! Hey! I see up there! What do you think you’re doing? This is security. Seriously, guys, you need to take that truck and go home to your video games. This place is not safe. Whatever you do, don’t go in the shed!” And then an adventure into the unknown begins.
ABOUT
Mystic Timbers is a wooden roller coaster located at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Constructed by Great Coasters International, the roller coaster opened in the park's Rivertown section on April 15, 2017. Mystic Timbers is the park's fourth wooden coaster, and its opening allowed Kings Island to reclaim the title of having the most wooden roller coaster track of any amusement park in the world with 18,804 feet (5,731 m). During its marketing campaign, the ride's finale element in an enclosed shed was kept secret until the ride's debut. In the annual Golden Ticket Awards by Amusement Today, it was awarded "Best New Ride" in 2017.
Mystic Timbers is themed around a fictional logging company, Miami River Lumber, that purchased the surrounding land for its timber. The company planned to use the adjacent Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad – the park's steam locomotive attraction – for shipping the timber out. Today is National Carousel Day! What better way to celebrate than with featuring our charming Grand Carousel?! It is a staple attraction here at Kings Island where guests get the opportunity to ride a genuine antique wooden horse. Kings Island’s magnificent carousel is timeless as it was manufactured by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, Philadelphia, Pa., in 1926. It is the oldest ride in the park and is one of approximately 90 carousels built by the company from 1904 to 1934.
During the 1937 flood in Cincinnati, some of the horses were swept away, but rewards were offered for them, and parts were returned from as far away as Memphis, TN. The 48 hand-carved horses have been restored several times since then. The carousel’s band organ was built by Wurlitzer in 1918. It was purchased by Kings Island in 1972 for the park’s new and valuable old carousel.

Everyone who enjoys the fun and thrills of riding a roller coaster will want to experience Mystic Timbers, voted “Best New Ride” in 2017 by Amusement Today. Themed to an abandoned lumber company, riders experience 16 airtime moments as they weave along 3,265 feet of track through wooded terrain, over water and through a mid-course tunnel at speeds up to 53 mph. The coaster is naturally exciting because of its setting in a densely wooded area. The natural rugged terrain and tunnel ensures a unique and memorable ride experience. Mystic Timbers was custom designed and built for the topography of Kings Island by Great Coasters International, Inc. (GCI) of Sunbury, Pa. The ride’s layout interacts with both the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon attractions during its two-minute ride cycle. As the train climbs the 109-foot lift hill, a voice is heard saying, “Hey! Hey! I see up there! What do you think you’re doing? This is security. Seriously, guys, you need to take that truck and go home to your video games. This place is not safe. Whatever you do, don’t go in the shed!” And then an adventure into the unknown begins.
ABOUT
Mystic Timbers is a wooden roller coaster located at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Constructed by Great Coasters International, the roller coaster opened in the park's Rivertown section on April 15, 2017. Mystic Timbers is the park's fourth wooden coaster, and its opening allowed Kings Island to reclaim the title of having the most wooden roller coaster track of any amusement park in the world with 18,804 feet (5,731 m). During its marketing campaign, the ride's finale element in an enclosed shed was kept secret until the ride's debut. In the annual Golden Ticket Awards by Amusement Today, it was awarded "Best New Ride" in 2017.
Mystic Timbers is themed around a fictional logging company, Miami River Lumber, that purchased the surrounding land for its timber. The company planned to use the adjacent Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad – the park's steam locomotive attraction – for shipping the timber out. However, an unexplained series of events led to the shutdown of the company, as the land was taken over by rampant natural growth.
The attraction was designed and built by Great Coasters International, a Pennsylvania-based company that specializes in the construction and restoration of wooden roller coasters. The 109-foot-tall (33 m) Mystic Timbers is 3,265 feet (995 m) in length and reaches a maximum speed of 53 miles per hour (85 km/h). It features a 98-foot-long (30 m) drop and sixteen airtime hills. Its three trains each carry 24 passengers, resulting in a total capacity of approximately 1200 riders per hour. The roller coaster's track layout utilizes the terrain and interacts with both the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon attractions during its roughly two-minute ride cycle.
With more than 100 rides, shows and attractions, Kings Island offers the perfect combination of world-class thrills and family attractions. Guests can experience the park’s 15 roller coasters, including the world’s longest wooden (The Beast) and steel inverted (Banshee) roller coasters, Diamondback and Mystic Timbers, voted “Best New Ride” in 2017 by Amusement Today. Families can spend the day together in the 18-time, award-winning Planet Snoopy kids’ area. Today is National Carousel Day! What better way to celebrate than with featuring our charming Grand Carousel?! It is a staple attraction here at Kings Island where guests get the opportunity to ride a genuine antique wooden horse. Kings Island’s magnificent carousel is timeless as it was manufactured by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, Philadelphia, Pa., in 1926. It is the oldest ride in the park and is one of approximately 90 carousels built by the company from 1904 to 1934.
During the 1937 flood in Cincinnati, some of the horses were swept away, but rewards were offered for them, and parts were returned from as far away as Memphis, TN. The 48 hand-carved horses have been restored several times since then. The carousel’s band organ was built by Wurlitzer in 1918. It was purchased by Kings Island in 1972 for the park’s new and valuable old carousel.
