Nazar is a film directed by Soni Razdan starring Meera and Ashmit Patel. It was the first Indo-Pakistani joint movie venture in 50 years. The film introduces Pakistani actress Meera to Bollywood and it also featured a kissing scene (afterwards cut) which was center of attention for the Pakistani government. Nazar was released along with Naina, another film based on the similar theme of extra-sensory perception.
Nazar revolves around a young and talented pop star Divya (Meera). From the start it is obvious the existence of a strange aura surrounding Divya’s personality. She is a girl who has lived a secluded life after the death of her parents in a car crash. After shooting her last video she decides she wants to go home. Along the way, despite the darkness she discovers a dead body on the middle of the road.
From this moment on Divya has visions of the future, rather than an art it becomes like a curse for Divya as all she sees is brutal murders. In her visions all she sees is dance-bargirls being stabbed, strangulated and suffocated to death by a killer whose face continues to elude Divya’s clairvoyance.

Plot: Pomegranate is a beautiful story that unfolds with two male cousins, one who is a director in Los Angeles, the other who is a priest in Beirut. A family matter brings them together after 17 years. The priest is dealing with the fact that some of his loved ones were killed in a bombing and he has come to reunite with his family in America and deliver the bad news. The character of the director has to 'find himself' again through finding the love and value of his culture and family, to win back the heart of the woman he loves through his adventures with his cousin. There are great performances by several character actors (and a few non actors) playing eccentric family members. A ton of personality to these characters that adds a ton to the film.

When he falls behind in the payments he flees the police and ends up in the desert with an uncommunicative old man (Gharibian) who catches poisonous snakes for their venom. These two are forced to coexist in the desert, because Nazar is unwilling to return to the city and wants to catch snakes to make enough money to settle his debts. His verbose, chattering annoys the reticent old man until Nazar's life is endangered.
