In welche Kategorie ist "Der letzte Tempelritter" einzuordnen?
Es ist sicher eine der ernsteren Performances von Nicholas Cage in einem Film diesen Kalibers. Aber wer weiß, vielleicht kann der Film trotzdem unterhalten. Es ist zumindest der einzige Film, in dem Nicholas Cage und Ron Pearlman gegen Dämonen, Wölfe und Zombie-Priester kämpfen. Und das muss einfach Spaß machen, oder?

Dominic Sena
Dominic Sena (born April 26, 1949) is an American film director and music video director. As a film director, he is best known for directing the films Kalifornia (1993), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), and Swordfish (2001). As a music video director, he directed music videos for Richard Marx, Bryan Adams, Peter Cetera, Janet Jackson, and Sting.
Life and career
Sena was born in Niles, Ohio of Italian-American heritage. His family hails from the town of Bagnoli Irpino, Avellino, Italy. As one of the founders of Propaganda Films, Sena worked primarily in music videos early in his career. He directed several of Janet Jackson's image re-defining music videos from her Rhythm Nation 1814 album. The "Rhythm Nation" music video directed by Sena won the Grammy Award Best Long Form Music Video. Other artists that Sena has directed music videos for include Richard Marx, Tina Turner, Fleetwood Mac, Bryan Adams, Michael Bolton, Peter Cetera, E.G. Daily, and Sting. Sena was also the cinematographer for many of the music videos he directed.

Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Kim Coppola (born January 7, 1964), known professionally as Nicolas Cage, is an American actor and producer. He has performed in leading roles in a variety of films, ranging from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action films. In the early years of his career, Cage starred in films such as Valley Girl (1983), Racing with the Moon (1984), Birdy (1984), Peggy Sue Got Married (1986), Raising Arizona (1987), Moonstruck (1987), Vampire's Kiss (1989), Wild at Heart (1990), Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), and Red Rock West (1993).
Cage received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance as an alcoholic Hollywood writer in Leaving Las Vegas (1995) before coming to the attention of wider audiences with mainstream films, such as The Rock (1996), Face/Off (1997), Con Air (1997), City of Angels (1998), and National Treasure (2004). He earned his second Academy Award nomination for his performance as Charlie and Donald Kaufman in Adaptation (2002). In 2002, he directed the film Sonny, for which he was nominated for Grand Special Prize at Deauville Film Festival. Cage owns the production company Saturn Films and has produced films such as Shadow of the Vampire (2000) and The Life of David Gale (2003).

Cage and Perlman star as Teutonic Knights, who return from the Crusades to find their fatherland ruined by the Black Death. In today's episode it's all about David Fincher. David Fincher was born in 1962 in Denver, Colorado, and was raised in Marin County, California. When he was 18 years old he went to work for John Korty at Korty Films in Mill Valley. He subsequently worked at ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) from 1981-1983. Fincher left ILM to direct TV commercials and music videos after signing with N. Lee Lacy in Hollywood. He went on to found Propaganda in 1987 with fellow directors Dominic Sena, Greg Gold and Nigel Dick. Fincher has directed TV commercials for clients that include Nike, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Heineken, Pepsi, Levi's, Converse, AT&T; and Chanel. He has directed music videos for Madonna, Sting, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, George Michael, Iggy Pop, The Wallflowers, Billy Idol, Steve Winwood, The Motels and, most recently, A Perfect Circle.
As a film director, he has achieved huge success with Se7en (1995), Fight Club (1999) and, Panic Room (2002).

Der letzte Tempelritter - Interview mit Ron Perlman
Europa im 14. Jahrhundert: die Pest wütet, Tausende fallen ihr zum Opfer. Inmitten des mittelalterlichen Chaos' wird eine junge Frau (Claire Foy) festgenommen, welche unter dem Verdacht steht, als Hexe für die Ausbreitung der tödlichen Seuche verantwortlich zu sein. Um ihrem vermeintlichen Wirken Einhalt zu gebieten, beauftragt Cardinal D'Ambroise (Christopher Lee) den Ritter Behman (Nicolas Cage), sie ins Gefängnis zu bringen, wo ein geheimnisvolles Ritual auf sie wartet. Zusammen mit seinem Begleiter Felson (Ron Perlman) begibt sich Behman auf die Reise. Doch der Auftrag erweist sich als gefährlicher und mysteriöser als angenommen, denn um das Böse zu besiegen, müssen beide durch die Hölle.
