Plot: Water, the most basic human necessity is the scarcest one in the Rann of Kutch. People here, can kill for water! Kim, a Russian bird watcher is part of an NGO that works for the environmental issues. Her excitement to visit the place, soon turns to despair as she discovers that Flamingo chicks are dying due to increased salinity in water. The only way to save them is to create artificial ponds and provide them a suitable habitat. Bakka, is the only hope for the thirsty villagers and everybody calls him the 'God of water'. He knows how to find water with his mystic dowsing rods in the desert. In her efforts to save the birds, Kim also turns to Bakka. Birds need water and so do the thirsty villagers. Whose life is more important? The emotions in these hearts have dried up and their beliefs are shattered just like the cracked land beneath their feet. Here water is thicker than blood!

Plot: Maanav is a struggling filmmaker who does not want to compromise on his script. His girlfriend Ruchi is a successful film editor who arranges for him to meet Nitin, a producer. Nitin likes the script but is not very sure of its box office potential. Maanav then suggests a story from the Panchtantra: A woman is caught red-handed with her lover by her husband and yet, she manages to wriggle out of it Scot-free! Nitin loves the story but finds it too short for a feature film. Maanav then creates three more stories based on the same premise: in a way, the Panchantra story travels in different versions to the modern times through the film. The four stories are woven together by a common story. Mirch itself echoes this structure, with four stories mingling with the main narrative.

Plot: Dina Nath is honored by the Indian Government, which is televised live. While receiving the honors, Dina Nath informs the Government that his village is still without electricity, and he is promised that electricity will be provided in his village immediately. And electricity is provided in the village. Dina Nath's son, Kanji, who is in Mumbai, hears of this and returns to the village along with a C-Band ten foot satellite dish and a super flat stereo television. When the satellite is set-up, the villagers are thrilled by the TV shows. This leads to the village priest complaining to Chotey Thakur Rudra Pratap Singh that the villagers are turning away from his temple and worship. Rudra is not concerned as he himself has a TV set in his home. But when the priest informs Rudra that his sister, Kesar and Kanji are in love, Rudra makes a threat to destroy Kanaji and all of the village in the presence of a TV crew filming the whole drama - live worldwide.

Plot: Shakti and Shaitan Singh are two brothers who belong to a gang of bandits, headed by the their dad, Bahadur Singh. One day while on a looting rampage in Jamalpur Village, Shakti is wounded and takes shelter with Harkishen and his daughter, Lali. He loses consciousness for several days, while the rest of the bandits think he is dead. When Shakti regains his senses he and Lali fall in love with each other, but Lali wants him to lead a honest life, and it is only then that he can marry her. Shakti decides to go straight to win Lali's hand, he decides to help a near-blind woman, Janki, to till her land. When Shaitan finds out that Shakti is still alive, he goes to welcome him back, but Shakti refuses to return. He refuses to return even when Bahadur comes to get him. Bahadur aims to shoot and kill Shakti, but someone shoots and kills Bahadur. An enraged Shaitan wants to find out his father's killer, and decides to kill one villager every week until Shakti and the villagers point out who the killer is. It is then Shaitan finds out that Shakti is not really his brother but someone who was abducted as a child from Jamalpur years ago. With the blood tie no longer in existence, looks like Shakti's days as a honest man are numbered, for no way is Shaitan going to spare him now.

He becomes a tyrant imprisoning large numbers of people, and eventually Taramati's father, also in prison, leads a popular revolt, threatening to kill his son-in-law.
