Care for the Wild International's CEO Philip Mansbridge visited Thailand's famous - or infamous - Tiger Temple in March 2013 - this is the result.
Five years previously, Care for the Wild released an undercover report called Exploiting the Tiger, which uncovered disturbing evidence of serious conservation and animal welfare concerns at the Temple.
Are these concerns still relevant? This video, and Care for the Wild's new report, Temple of Lies, aims to alert tourists to key issues still relevant at the Temple:
1. Animal welfare issues - man-handling, aggression towards the tigers, small barren cages
2. Tourist safety issues - tourists are encouraged to touch and walk with the tigers, with no training, and no obvious emergency procedures.
3. False marketing - the Temple bills itself as a peaceful sanctuary for rescued tigers, but it is basically a zoo.
4. Finally, anyone visiting should be aware that your travel insurance is most likely void if you get hurt, as you must sign a disclaimer when you enter the Temple.
It is understandable that tiger-loving tourists jump at the chance to see these animals in close proximity. We'd ask them to think about whether this is the best way to see such magnificent animals - either for the tigers, or themselves.

In November 2011, Orwa the elephant was found alone by members of the Orwa community, on their land near Nasalot and South Turkana National Reserve. It is likely that his mother was killed by poachers.
Little Orwa was around about a year old and had clearly been without his mother for some time. He was in an advanced state of emaciation when he was rescued by the Kenya Wildlife Service and brought to the David Sheldrick's Wildlife Trust nursery in Nairobi. As an orphan alone and in such feeble condition, he had obviously been harassed by small predators -- perhaps domestic dogs or jackals, who had inflicted superficial bite wounds on his body, which were cared for at the centre.
Orwa has been deeply traumatised by the loss of his mother and prefers to keep himself distant from the other orphans. By adopting Orwa you will not only contributing towards Orwa's care, but you'll also be directly supporting our vital anti-poaching work to protect wild elephants from extreme poaching risk in Kenya.

Wild International
"Wild International" is the first track and single from One Day as a Lion's self-titled five track EP. This track was first revealed on July 16, 2008. It was made available to stream on the band's myspace page. On the same day the song was premiered by the influential L.A. radio station KROQ-FM and on Australian radio station Triple J. Thus far, it peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot Modern Tracks, and #6 in Norway.
Inspiration
When Zack de la Rocha was asked about the song, he said,
Beyond that, I’m speaking toward a deeper sentiment that I feel and I know a lot of people feel. Most of the songs have to do with redemptive moments that come in the face of some real indignity. And that’s the current that I’m trying to tap into, because I think that for a lot of people — for the real participants who live in the shadows and work at car washes and are forced to cross the border and are struggling and facing the real economic consequences — they’re often left out off the debate because of the language they speak or even the terminology that they use.

Care for the Wild International
Care for the Wild International is an animal charity, a non-governmental organization established in 1984 and based in the United Kingdom. It supports wildlife projects and it campaigns on animal rights issues in Britain and around the world.
History
Care for the Wild International was set up by Dr Bill Jordan in 1984 from his bookshop in Horsham, West Sussex in the United Kingdom. As the charity grew, it moved to new premises but it is still based in Horsham. It is now an international organisation with an annual income of over £700,000, using the money to fund projects and campaigns both in the United Kingdom and overseas.
Mission
The stated aim of Care for the Wild International is to "rescue, protect and defend animals in need around the globe". It helps fund rescue centres and animal sanctuaries caring for abandoned, injured and orphaned wild animals in the United Kingdom and in Africa. It operates an "adoption" scheme under which donors can target their donations towards specific objectives. Protection of wildlife is done through supporting projects such as anti-poaching patrols and campaigns against the use of snares. It seeks to educate people about the importance of their local wildlife and on the way to minimise conflicts between people and animals. Care for the Wild International joins with other campaigning organisations to try to defend the rights of animals, taking part in both local actions, such as opposing badger culling, and international actions to limit the trade in endangered species.

In November 2011, Orwa the elephant was found alone by members of the Orwa community, on their land near Nasalot and South Turkana National Reserve. It is likely that his mother was killed by poachers.
Little Orwa was around about a year old and had clearly been without his mother for some time. He was in an advanced state of emaciation when he was rescued by the Kenya Wildlife Service and brought to the David Sheldrick's Wildlife Trust nursery in Nairobi. As an orphan alone and in such feeble condition, he had obviously been harassed by small predators -- perhaps domestic dogs or jackals, who had inflicted superficial bite wounds on his body, which were cared for at the centre.
Orwa has been deeply traumatised by the loss of his mother and prefers to keep himself distant from the other orphans. By adopting Orwa you will not only contributing towards Orwa's care, but you'll also be directly supporting our vital anti-poaching work to protect wild elephants from extreme poaching risk in Kenya.

Turkish Angoras are one of the ancient, natural breeds of cat, having originated in central Turkey, in the Ankara region (historically known as Angora). The breed has been documented as early as the 1600s and is believed to be the origin of the mutations for both the coloration white[citation needed] (the dominant white gene is in truth the absence of color) and long hair[citation needed]. The breed is also sometimes referred to as simply the Angora or Ankara cat.

Tanita Corporation brought JJ on board to highlight their nationally televised campaign on body composition testing. JJ regularly lectures to capacity audiences at international conferences of health care professionals on her Overcoming Weight Loss Resistance Program, Successful Detoxification and Marketing & Practice Development. She speaks to the public on topics from her wildly popular book, The Art of Losing It! Mastering Weight Loss in an Expanding World, that she coauthored with Hollywood screenwriter Dan O'Dowd.
JJ received her PhD in Holistic Nutrition at Clayton College of Natural Health and is a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist with the American College of Nutrition.
