Philadelphia (/ˌfɪləˈdɛlfiə/) is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the fifth-most-populous in the United States, with an estimated population in 2014 of 1,560,297. In the Northeastern United States, at the confluence of the Delaware and Schuylkill River, Philadelphia is the economic and cultural anchor of the Delaware Valley, a metropolitan area home to 7.2 million people and the eighth-largest combined statistical area in the United States.
In 1682, William Penn founded the city to serve as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony. Philadelphia played an instrumental role in the American Revolution as a meeting place for the Founding Fathers of the United States, who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution in 1787. Philadelphia was one of the nation's capitals in the Revolutionary War, and served as temporary U.S. capital while Washington, D.C., was under construction. In the 19th century, Philadelphia became a major industrial center and railroad hub that grew from an influx of European immigrants. It became a prime destination for African-Americans in the Great Migration and surpassed two million occupants by 1950.
Major League may also refer to:
Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball league. A total of 30 teams now play in two divisions, the American League (AL) and National League (NL), with 15 teams in each. The AL and NL operated as separate legal entities from 1901 and 1876 respectively, until 2000, when they were merged into a single organization known as Major League Baseball. After cooperating but remaining legally separate entities since 1903, in 2000 the leagues merged into a single organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball. The organization also oversees minor league baseball leagues, which comprise about 240 teams affiliated with the major-league clubs. With the World Baseball Softball Confederation, MLB manages the international World Baseball Classic tournament.
Baseball's first professional team was founded in Cincinnati in 1869. The first few decades of professional baseball were characterized by rivalries between leagues and by players who often jumped from one team or league to another. The period before 1920 in baseball was known as the dead-ball era; players rarely hit home runs during this time. Baseball survived a conspiracy to fix the 1919 World Series, which came to be known as the Black Sox Scandal. The sport rose in popularity in the 1920s, and survived potential downturns during the Great Depression and World War II. Shortly after the war, baseball's color barrier was broken by Jackie Robinson.
The Phillie Phanatic is the official mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies Major League Baseball team. He is a large, furry, green bi-pedal creature with an extendable tongue. According to his official biography, the Phanatic is originally from the Galápagos Islands and is the Phillies' biggest fan. He performs various routines to entertain fans during baseball games at Citizens Bank Park and makes public relation and goodwill appearances for the Phillies. The Phanatic is usually acknowledged as one of the best ballpark mascots, and is arguably the most recognizable mascot in all of sports.
During the winter after the 1977 season, Dennis Lehman, who along with the Philadelphia Phillies Promotions Director, Frank Sullivan, thought the team needed a mascot similar to San Diego's Famous Chicken, created the Phanatic with help from Harrison/Erickson of New York City (now known as Acme Mascots), which had ties with Jim Henson's Muppets. Instead of a number on the back of his jersey, he wears a star. The character was named for the fanatical fans of the team.
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.

The person who sees everything that is going on is the motel's caretaker Phillie, a Scot who stayed in Niagara Falls following a personal tragedy. To escape memory of that tragedy, Phillie is in a constant state of inebriation. Each person has to decide how far they will go to get what they want in life.

Take a tour of some of the most historic buildings of America. Historic Philadelphia is where the Founding Fathers laid the groundwork for the creation of America. Not only is the city packed with sites that commemorate what they did, but you can visit the places where they actually lived and worked. Let's start with Declaration House on Seventh and Market Street. Thomas Jefferson lived here during the time he wrote the Declaration of Independence. He wrote the document in three weeks. The Liberty Bell, right here on Sixth Street, is perhaps Philadelphia's most famous attraction. On July 8th, 1776, it was rung to commemorate the hearing of the Declaration of Independence. The Bell weighs 2,000 pounds, which may not be apparent by looking at it. It was cracked in 1846, and has not be...

Philadelphia, located between New York and Washington D.C, is considered to be the birthplace of the United States. The Constitution was debated here in Philadelphia in what is now the Independence Hall. The nearby Liberty Bell Center is home to the famous two-thousand-pound bell which became a symbol of freedom. The National Constitution Center also tells the story of 1920s prohibition. Learn more about Al Capone and other famous former inmates at the Eastern State Penitentiary. The Philadelphia Museum of Art, one of the country's largest museums, is not to be missed. At Fairmount Park, discover outdoor art on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, as well as the Smith Memorial Arch dedicated to Civil War heroes. HQ. gestalt work on awareness, part 1. hebrew subtitles added. BY FRANKLYN WEPNER SEPTEMBER 1, 2006 HOW I WORK: GESTALT DREAMWORK AS THEATER AND PROPHECY GESTALT DREAM WORK AS PREPARATION FOR PERFORMING Since 1975 I have been using Gestalt work on awareness, dreams and personal relationships as a way to train and direct performers. The basic principle is simple. I use the Gestalt work to peel the onion of layer after layer of social cliches, ego games and unfinished personal business, and then I do the reverse process reconstituting the onion in the form of characters or other artist structures. The existential message of the dream becomes the superobjective or action of the tragedy...
I was on a 2 wk solo trip, with private guide via JCTravel, to Ukraine in April 2017. On 2 of the days I took a 2 day overnight tour to Chernobyl. Two other people had signed up for the same 2 day overnight tour- you'll see them briefly in the video. We had a cute English speaking guide too. I brought my own personal radiation detectors with me: my "Inspector" and my "Polismart II". The Inspector reads Alpha, Beta, and Gamma and the Polismart just Gamma. The Polismart is always on and I had it in my carry-on camera bag on the flight over from Philadelphia to Kiev and its alarm went of while flying, think I was the only one who heard it, thank goodness. I actually got more radiation on the flight than I did in the 2 days at Chernobyl! There are some hotspots that we visit on the tour....

We met an American couple from Philadelphia (Courtney and Scott) and decided to travel with them for a few days. We shared beers in the evenings and a rental car during the day. The first half of the video is crazy for the following reasons: 1) Ashley is driving a 4x4 with a steering wheel on the right 2) We're driving on roads that are so steep that you need 4 wheel drive. 3) We have to honk going around corners because traffic goes both ways and there's only one lane. 4) In many places the road is either covered with a landslide, or collapsing because the dirt is washed out from under the pavement. The second half of the video is also crazy, but mostly for what happened off camera. We drove to a place with hiking trails, but when we got there it was closed. Everyone except for me wa...

It's cold outside in the middle of the winter and my brain's in the fridge
(Would you know what shape I'm in)
Point things in the better I'm lucky if I even give in to the sin
(Would you know what shape I'm in)
And it's all been luck until now
Caught in the race of up to down
Photography mixed in the monogamy keepin' my world happenin'
(would you know what shape I'm in)
I know that I'm better when I know that you are better and I'll hold you again
(would you know what shape I'm in)
And its all been luck until now
Caught in the race of up to down
And it's all been luck until now
I only hope that you're still 'round me now
And it's gonna rage
it's gonna stay with you always
Every second counts on you to prove you're off the ground
