When it comes to banning things in school, some rules are totally reasonable. Of course weapons shouldn’t be allowed, and inappropriate touching is never okay. But some bans are really questionable. From over sensitizing kids to objectifying them, some bans are ridiculous and actually do much more harm than good.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the yoga pants and skinny jeans bans. Many schools have prohibited girls wearing these items as they’re too distracting to the opposite sex. But why should females have to change the way they dress because of men? The rule teaches them that they are in the wrong, and not boys, who should be taught respect and to not ogle girls if they wear tight clothes. And what about the ban on touching? No, not inappropriate touching, just any touching at all, including hugs and high fives. Yes, high fives have been banned in some schools, and what’s worse is that students who high five each other are punished with counselling sessions.
Then there are the bans that seem to totally loathe the new generation. One all-girls Jewish school banned the use of Facebook, even outside of school. The girls had to sign a contract saying they wouldn’t use the networking site. One school even went so far as the ban the acronym LOL. What’s wrong with LOL? Absolutely nothing in my books. Unsurprisingly, the ban was quickly lifted after ridicule from parents and students rolled in.
It seems some schools are going way overboard when it comes to the things they ban. The safety of the children always seems to be at the center of the rule, but some just don’t make sense. Take a look at 10 ridiculous things banned in schools today.

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA — California gamer Lea May, who livestreams footage of herself playing video games, has been banned from the video-sharing site Twitch after she allegedly flashed her vagina to her audience.
May, also known as Legendarylea, was livestreaming herself playing the video game Dark Souls 3 on Twitch when the incident took place.
The video shows May, who was wearing a pair of loose-fitting shorts, suddenly standing up and lifting her leg, stunning those watching with a clear shot of her vagina.
Her viewers sent numerous complaints to Twitch, which has led the company to issue a ban on May for 30 days.
May later explained that her awkward pose was due to an ankle injury, but it did not change Twitch's decision.

A ban is, generally, any decree that prohibits something.
Bans are formed for the prohibition of activities within a certain political territory. Some see this as a negative act (equating it to a form of censorship or discrimination) and others see it as maintaining the "status quo". Bans in commerce are referred to as embargos.

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA — California gamer Lea May, who livestreams footage of herself playing video games, has been banned from the video-sharing site Twitch after she allegedly flashed her vagina to her audience. May, also known as Legendarylea, was livestreaming herself playing the video game Dark Souls 3 on Twitch when the incident took place. The video shows May, who was wearing a pair of loose-fitting shorts, suddenly standing up and lifting her leg, stunning those watching with a clear shot of her vagina. Her viewers sent numerous complaints to Twitch, which has led the company to issue a ban on May for 30 days. When it comes to banning things in school, some rules are totally reasonable. Of course weapons shouldn’t be allowed, and inappropriate touching is never okay. But some bans are really questionable. From over sensitizing kids to objectifying them, some bans are ridiculous and actually do much more harm than good.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the yoga pants and skinny jeans bans. Many schools have prohibited girls wearing these items as they’re too distracting to the opposite sex. But why should females have to change the way they dress because of men? The rule teaches them that they are in the wrong, and not boys, who should be taught respect and to not ogle girls if they wear tight clothes. And what about the ban on touching? No, not inappropriate touching, just any touching at all, including hugs and high fives. Yes, high fives have been banned in some schools, and what’s worse is that students who high five each other are punished with counselling sessions.
Then there are the bans that seem to totally loathe the new generation. One all-girls Jewish school banned the use of Facebook, even outside of school. The girls had to sign a contract saying they wouldn’t use the networking site. One school even went so far as the ban the acronym LOL. What’s wrong with LOL? Absolutely nothing in my books. Unsurprisingly, the ban was quickly lifted after ridicule from parents and students rolled in.
It seems some schools are going way overboard when it comes to the things they ban. The safety of the children always seems to be at the center of the rule, but some just don’t make sense. Take a look at 10 ridiculous things banned in schools today.

Description: From a video game about rap, to an iPhone case that looks like a gun, we countdown the top 10 things that were banned on Amazon. In 2008, Amazon decided to remove the controversial “I love Hitler” t shirts from their stocks after being attacked by the World Jewish Congress. In 2013, a Japanese man created a bizarre pencil sharpener, which was nicknamed the ‘Pervert Pencil Sharpner’ by Western society. The bizarre piece of stationary involved you inserting your pencil into a girl’s behind in order to sharpen it. Various copies of the rude sharpener sold for around 6 dollars on Amazon before they pulled it from their shelves. In 2015 police throughout the world become incredibly concerned with people casually posing with guns on social media. However these “guns” were simply a poorly designed iPhone case which was being sold on Amazon for about 5 dollars. Amazon removed the item from their site after police departments around the world urged them to, as they were becoming inundated with false gun cases. In June of 2015, Dylann Roof shot and killed 9 black people in the Charleston church shooting, in hopes of enacting a race war. One of the most shared photos of Dylann was an image of him posing with a confederate flag. This lead to Amazon banning the flag, along with the controversial historical connotations. In 2014, Rajan Zed, president of the universal society of hinduism urged Amazon to stop selling Hindu God Leggings, and to offer a formal apology. Other upset Hindu’s joined Rajan’s pleas and Amazon listened, removing the item from their site. In 2010, a disturbing discovery was made on Amazon’s e-book section, Kindle. An E-book titled: “The pedophile’s guide to love and pleasure: a child lover’s code of conduct”. Amazon chose to swiftly remove the e-book from their store and stated that it was inappropriate for their site. Until 2012, whale meat was sold on Amazon in Japan and other Asian countries. The Enviromental Investigation Agency found a shocking 147 whale products for sale on the site. They then posted a 50 second video alerting Amazon to the amount of whale and dolphin products which were sold on the site. After the video went viral and was seen by Amazon, The endangered animal was totally removed from the site, along with dolphin meat. Some Amazon sellers who claimed to have cancer "cures" to take advantage of desperate. Some "cures" involved dried crocodile blood and others were crushed apricot kernels. It’s highly illegal to claim to offer cures and treatments for the disease, and thus the products were quickly removed from the site. In 2014, this magnet toy was removed from Amazon after almost 8000 children were admitted to hospital after swallowing the small magnets. Bucky Balls are small magnetic balls, designed for children to mould them into different shapes. The toy was banned from Amazon, and the government are currently debating banning it completely. In 2009, Amazon banned a highly controversial Japanese video game called Rapelay. As you might of guessed from the title, the point of the game is to rap young women on the subways of Japan. The bizarre and graphic game was one of the first products ever to be banned from Amazon.

With a media driven rival competition being set up, the pressure for clubs to survive and preserve their short-term future. Both the Magpies and the Tigers signed with the ARL, whereas eight clubs of the 1995 ARL competition signed with the rival Super League competition for 1997. In 1998, the ARL and Super League were unified into a National Rugby League (NRL) competition. As part of the deal with the ARL and Super League, the NRL competition would reduce down to fourteen teams in 2000 from the twenty two that had competition in both competitions in 1997. With the addition of a team in 1998, this meant that nine teams would be forced out before the 2000 season.
With the NRL offering guaranteed entrance into the 2000 competition and A$6 million funding for clubs that merged, many clubs that were struggling to compete were negotiating to merge. Balmain had garnered interest to merge with the Parramatta Eels and Gold Coast Chargers while Western Suburbs had talked with the Canterbury Bulldogs and Penrith Panthers. Both Balmain and Western Suburbs felt that those offers were seen more as takeovers of their clubs rather than mergers. By June 1999, both club’s boards had unanimously voted to form a joint venture partnership with each other to make a competitive entity.

Directed by Daniel Gordon, the 2-hour film chronicles the disaster, the investigations, and their lingering effects; it also included interviews with survivors, victims' relatives, police officers and investigators. Hillsborough aired the first time on 15 April 2014, the 25th anniversary of the disaster. The documentary was unable to be shown in Great Britain upon initial release due to the 2012 High Court inquest still being in progress and the UK's jury tampering laws; the documentary contains previously unreleased security camera footage from the stadium the day of the disaster."
NOTE:" However, upon the inquest verdict the BBC announced they would air the documentary, with additional footage from the inquest and final verdict"
